Eric Mangini Can Turn This Defense Around
Meathead replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
thats a good idea, turn them around so they are facing AWAY from the qb, cant be much worse -
im literally the last person to overreact, except those on massive doeses of antipsychotic medication, but this defense isnt playing at at nfl level in 60% of the games so far. way beyond failing grade, as if they fielded a college team bad. just mind bottlingly ineffective, like how can it possibly be massive, total, complete sea change needed here. not sure they have it in em but lets see i guess

in the three losses the defense did almost nothing right, the last two especially. how does an nfl defense get to the point that just about every play is a long gainer, just about every drive is a touchdown? it seems impossible but we saw it with our own eyes last week. its the impossible nightmare that has come true for this defense

The Gailey Era Is All But Over
Meathead replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well im not ready to can chan. yeah its bad right now but the smart thing to do is let them play it out and see what happens. they DO have talent on this team, and COULD get it turned around, and chan deserves that chance now, if they keep sucking at this level, especially if they lay another record setting egg next week, the pressure cooker is going to crank up like mad. right now they arent even an nfl caliber team. in the three losses they have been utterly incompetant at their jobs, a level of consistent horribleness that is get-somebody-fired bad but if its anybody its going to be wanny. im not a wanny hater but cmon, they cant even execute basic defense most plays now. getting gashed just about every play for huuuge chunks of yards, guys running wide open - AGAIN. rbs hacking off nine yards a pop over and over again. i was glad we got wanny myself, but if they dont stage a dramatic turnaround like right away then the pornstachio is gonna fire himself -
chan says tjax isnt going to get enough reps to push for the backup job so theres probably no chance he even gets a start any time soon. fitz might be playing himself out of a job but believe it or not its probably thigpen getting a start before tjax the only way tjax gets into games outside of injuries is if the season is lost. although i realize it feels like a lost season, they can in fact still rebound. maybe three straight more losses from here (or two like the last two) regardless of who is at qb and perhaps they just say fk it lets give tjax a shot, but that would be such a hugely desperate gamble lets hope to god that doesnt happen

i dont think chan has lost the team but does it really matter? they are flat out bad, at least they have been three of the five games so far. not just losses, but totally destroyed im one to say a loss is a loss, but this pattern is so horrendous i dont think you can justify saying its just another loss. the defense was so brutally bad, again, with guys running wide ass open, AGAIN even if the players are firmly behind chan and company, the coaches simply must come under fire at some point soon bc this team is just way way way too bad for the talent they have. they arent even close to being competitive against good teams for the whole game. its actually worse than last year. and btw the jets are NOT good, so that loss is looking worse and worse as time goes on the season isnt over but they are already in trouble. they need a complete about face really soon and i dont think theres any reason to be confident they are going to be able to provide that. im not one to call for a coaches head prematurely, but if the defense doesnt do a major turnaround very soon there really will be no choice but to fire wanny and see if that shakes the players up. its horrible

season isnt over but it sure feels like it. did not imagine they could possibly be this bad. three horrible games out of five. seems hard to believe they can turn it around from this bad of a horrendous start -

Let's say the Bills beat the Niners
Meathead replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
idk why you think beating them by ten plus or whatever makes it more significant, but ANY win this week would be huge and frankly, im starting to think its gonna happen im 4-0 on predicting bills games so far, including 4-0 ats im certainly taking the bills +11 and im teetering on the idea of picking them outright. heres why: focus and desperation. any time you have one team that really needs a game and the other would like it but doesnt really need it, the more desperate team usually is a better bet. add in the fact of the total embarrassment of their last half of football, the bills are going to be especially focused all week tough game but i think the bills keep it close and i would of course love it if they pull it out. i think theres a good chance -

TJax will stay #3 wtf Bills?
Meathead replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
looks like brad smith is taking nelsons spot at wr so it makes sense to have him focus on that instead of trying to be qb3. they will still get him some qb reps when they need to sharpen him up for the wc but need to get jackson as many reps as they can to properly challenge thigpen. i still think one of the two gets cut sometime this season, probably thigpen, but for now this makes sense -

How would you feel about the Bills in the AFC North?
Meathead replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i used to go to miami most seasons for the away game and that was kinda nice. but now that i dont go to fla anymore id rather it was clev/pit. theyd sell more tix too -
just takes a tiny advantage at that level to turn a sb loss into a win. and the advantage they got wasnt tiny thats the thing that galls me the most. so many people disregard the value of what they had. they have the ability to break down an opponents coding system. theres only so much alteration you can do with the coding system so basically they make a translator and can have a first halfs signals decoded by halftime at the latest. massive advantage then of course the point the op made, that they just allowed everything to go into the incinerator no questions asked for a couple picks and a fine. big whoopie. how about a well deserved asterisk. three of em in fact
-
what have they won since they got caught cheating? nuthin
-
overall team wise i think the bills have more talent sadly the cheaters have the big edge where it counts most

you gotta be kidding me about gilmore sure hes made rookie mistakes but hes also made plays that make him look like a five year vet im more than enough impressed to be patient during the painful moments of his learning curve
