agreed big time on ezra at least compared to odonnell i thought ezra hosted maddow shows, am i remembering wrong or does he also do odonnell fill ins, or did i misundestand your statement in any event, kline does definitely need to get his own show. hes probably not annoying enough to bump the eds and larrys from their lineup. apparently attack partisanship sells well or faux and msnbc wouldnt be at war to see who can lie and obfuscate better. kline obviously cant touch matthews, maddow or scarborough. im sure we could come up with somebody to replace there though so im in on that -

actually this is correct, but good luck getting people to believe it i didnt vote for obama either time so hes not my guy, but im surprised how badly he misplayed this one issue. as you can see by this thread, most people automatically blame obama for the hit they have taken on their take home pay, as if he enacted new taxes on them. but that payroll tax holiday was never supposed to be permanent, it was an economy stimulator when things were so bad, it was obama that was putting money BACK into their pockets they normally wouldnt have had. the timing of it expiring was just really bad for obama and im surprised he hasnt done a better job either timing it better or educating the public where it comes from

agreed its pretty clear that msnbc has been trying to out-faux faux news over the last five years and especially the last few. blowhards like rush and hannity sort of invented or at least popularized inflammatory partisan talk shows masquerading as news and msnbc has been trying to make their own liberal version of that. unfortunately for them and for us, faux had a big head start and had the advantage of the simplistic far right hive mind to easily manipulate, so msnbc was always playing catch up o'donnell is bad but hes not even close to mr ed in that regard. idk how ed shultz keeps his damn job, hes just awful. at least o'donnell is smart and makes some good points, albeit in his over dramatized and annoying way. ed is just all bad. he lies about as bad as rush, takes things completely out of context and ignores vital information like hannity, but doesnt have nearly the entertainment value of either. peirs morgan used to be really bad too, but ever since he started getting criticized so badly hes started to take issues more seriously and has improved to the point hes at least watchable i really like what chris matthews does, he seems to just keep getting better. i wish he wouldnt interrupt guests so much but hes still very good. maddow is also very good, at least in being very smart and entertaining. shes gone downhill a little the last couple years as it appears shes running out of good material and has to inflate issues too much now, but shes still pretty insightful when shes not just trying to fill up the hour. i just hope she doesnt go downhill like olbermann did. he started out so good in his early years then just fell off the damn cliff. a lot like bill oreilly, who started out good and just got just awful as time went on. i think both of them just got too full of themselves and it completely ruined their entire presentation to the point i cant even listen to them anymore -
Did anyone keep the warm fuzzy stories from 3yrs ago?

wow is that not correct. first impressions are rarely RIGHT. heck, second third and twelveth impressions are subject to frequent errors. what you say is believed by a lot of people, but that doesnt make it any less wrong this is also not correct sure there was disappointment after ralph waved ten million around and names like chin, shanny, and shotty were thrown around. but chan certainly wasnt hated by most and was given a nice honeymoon period. really i thought he actually did a good job turning a horrible team around pretty quick, but he certainly couldnt take it the next step with a vastly improved roster. i liked the guy but he needed to go, but that still doesnt mean he was universally panned when he came in i will agree the vibe is very different with this new crew. that doesnt mean they will be any more successful but the energy level is different. really nervous about a 33yo oc but hopefully he will surprise -
lmao. i composed a post saying exactly this a few minutes ago, lost it to the ie posting ghost here, and didnt want to bother typing it all in again. so ty for doing it for me lol yeah i agree, as much as i appreciate the effort these guys make, without knowing the guidelines and how strict they follow them (quality assurance) its really not a foolproof process. without enough structure and process people are influenced much more heavily that we usually recognize so you cant help but believe some of their evaluation ended up purely subjective kyle williams is a great player but he was obviously hobbled too often this season to rank as the bills best player, most likely anyway. and fitz was very disappinting but thirty-fifth or w/e just seems way too low. pure statistics put him no lower than around twenty-fifth, so i just dont see him being THAT bad but whatever, at best fitz was serviceable and thats not good enough on a team without a fantastic defense so his best hope regardless right now is to get a chance to compete for the job next fall, here or anywhere else. if dougster decides to let him do it then cool, if not and wants to go in another direction im fine with that too

Bills fans thoughts on new coaching staff so far??
Meathead replied to mrags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
theres really no way to tell which way its going to go. with chip kelly out, the bills got the hottest up and comer available. but frankly, those guys fail more often than they succeed in their first gig so odds are actually against us. hiring a 33 yo rookie oc also makes me very nervous. pettine looks like a potentially solid hire but again being under ryan for so long means we wont know how he does with his own show until he actually does it so yeah, a lot of energy now feels good but really its a roll of the dice and we are at least two years away from knowing if it comes up heads or tails -
welcome to the board john paul

didnt even watch the vid but yeah you gotta figure they are going after him. i seriously doubt they would use the eighth for him but in the second or on a trade down to the end of the first looks like a virtual certainty if they can swing it -

maybe i missed something but why in the world would you go get somebody like matt moore (or any of the fa qbs out there), or trade for somebody like alex smith, when you already have fitz under contract and releasing him saves you close to nothing? moore or smith or campbell et al are no better than fitz, id rather they keep fitz (try to redo his deal) and stay to compete with whomever else they bring to camp just bc the fans have decided to focus all their blame on the qb doesnt mean he deserves to be cut in favor of someone who is no better and probably worse
-
it appears fitz is always going to be what he is, around the twentieth best starting qb in the nfl. i was hoping he was going to make it to around twelveth under david lee but that just didnt happen hes also paid at a level thats about the twentieth starting qb in the nfl, which can be either good or bad. good is that at least hes not overpaid and gives us a few more options. bad is that its too much if youre looking to get that top twelve quy (aka franchise qb), and in todays nfl you pretty much have to go for the franchise guy or your chances at a title drop precipitously hes not nearly as bad as the fans are portraying him now, but hes still sort of an albatross for the bills. he does have value in the nfl as a starter but right now its unlikely to return much in trade unless some team gets reeally desperate because you can get almost twentieth best qb production from available free agent veterans for less. so hed have to rework his contract, and if he does that the bills might as well consider keeping him until their next guy is ready ill just say this, thank god im not making that decision. if dougie decides to try to fix fitz im fine with that, if he starts over with somebody else im fine with that. and thank god i dont have to make that decision

Members of Chan's staff welcome to interview to come back

hard to believe how bad the defense was under wanny. he may have been lacking as a hc but his defenses had always been damn good as a coordinator, before here anyway. if he had come in cold just a year ago id say give him another chance but he was here the whole season before that and should have known exactly what he had and should at least had the chance to work with, if not downright influence the entire defenses development in the process. and despite being the freakin lbs coach that first year his lbs proved to be the weakest link due to the bflo curse he will probably end up king crap of somebody elses defense, but even facing that possibility id say lets forget these past two pornstachio years ever happened -
