but for once im glad it isnt the bills in the browns situation - being used by somebody to get a better offer elsewhere. looks like marrone might have been everybodys plan b if they didnt get kelly and now the bills got him. and frankly, id rather have marrone than kelly anyway, the latter of which i think looks like the next jesus of college coaching to fail spectacularly. you cant come into the nfl for the first time asking for total control and stuff like that, seems like hes a little too full of himself at this point and his ego is bound to get in his own way. nfl history is full of those guys and they usually dont work out

everybody loves the running qb when they are young and healthy but its almost always short term gain for long term harm. first off, they always get injured and usually lose their running effectiveness fairly early in their careers. secondly, their early success with running stunts their growth as a passer so that when their running isnt as effective anymore due to injury they have a tough time making the transition to a pocket passer there are of course a few good exceptions but for the most part running qbs are just a drastic drop in production waiting to happen. this read option stuff is going to be a fad for just that reason - unless a team invests in a stable of comparable qbs they are just going to end up losing their qb on a regular basis, like we are already seeing with rg3 and others

exactly theres a ton a new coach needs to be doing while other teams are in the playoffs. to force teams without a coach to wait that whole time would be yet another huge disadvantage for a team trying to recover ground they already are down to the good teams i can see why there would be some advantages to making everybody wait until the playoffs are over, but the disadvantage to teams without a coach is just too huge to allow that to happen

the good news is that theres nothing derogatory you can make out of the name marrone

it could also hamper the performance of the player(s) on the field. imagine the girls are shooting bullets from their eyes at some player they feel screwed one of them over. nobody else would notice it, but the people involved would know. anybody can have girl problems but if they are RIGHT THERE in your work environment youre going to have a much tougher time dealing with it. it could definitely hinder the guys concentration. at the nfl level how much distraction you think it takes to make a difference, like 1% no way, i just wouldnt allow that on my club if i was in charge. im pretty sure most of the clubs would agree. and its not like they dont have that standard in other industries. its a reasonable and sound restriction in some environments and id surely count professional sports as one of those well maybe but id say a nationally broadcast sideboob counts as drama

my understand is that one of them would have to leave which would obviously be the cheerleader quitting. i think i recall exactly that happening once or something, maybe someone else can remember maybe it depends on the club but im pretty liberal in that regard and i would still strictly prohibit it on my team. seems like it cant help but poison the cheerleading squad if you allow it

ive heard that its against nfl rules to date cheerleaders from your own team. or maybe its just most teams own house rule, im not sure. but i would think teams really wouldnt want that bc of all the problems it would cause with the morale of the cheerleading squad when the guys inevitably dump and/or cheat on them. so andy may really be in some trouble with the club or nfl

good point and no more nice guy coaches. more often than not the best coaches are surly guys who keep you on edge. i admit that of winning coaches i prefer a nice guy coach, but if it takes a jerk to get us winning then give me a jerk. well not a super jerk like somebody who cheats but one of those brooding enigmas would be fine
