the day before i had just moved into a new house and by the time we were done i only had time to set up the bed and go to sleep. i lived in rochester and had to leave early the next morning to meet my family and be able to tailgate together, so everything i owned was still sitting there in boxes. when houston got that pick six to start the second half i told my dad i was gonna leave the game to go home and unpack. he easily convinced me to just let it sit a few more hours and have fun getting drunk and dancing in the endzone. why not right? thank god

the talent on the team he took over was on par with the worst weve ever had here. you could have had vince lombardi coaching and it would have been surprising at all they started 0-8. and yet chan had them go 4-4 the second half, which was a pretty remarkable turnaround the next season they started very strong and were playing good ball for half the season. granted they tanked badly the rest of the way, but they also had one of the worst injury streaks weve ever seen and had very little depth this past season was about as disappointing as it gets. no way i thought they have a chance to finish with only five wins but here we are. you can make a good case that a coach should be fired for this kind of season alone, and if that happens im fine with it. but it is indeed a fact that chan (and buddy) took a horrible situation and made it a lot better fast. that doesnt mean they have what it takes to make this an actually good team, but you cant take their early gains in performance away from them so despite that most fans are screaming for another restart, its not the worst thing to give them one more cycle to try to pull it together. if ralph can finagle something better thats fine, but one more season with these guys seems a lot better than taking a flyer on another mularky or moobs

How on Earth are we favored v. the Jets?
Meathead replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
start mike jasper at qb i know hes not on the team anymore, im saying sign him just for this game so he can play qb -
nothing speaks louder than paper bags. somebody should have provided info where you can buy cases of bags and encouraged generous fans to hand them out for free in the lots. a sea of bagheads would be awesome

lol thats awesome. i dont watch espn much so maybe it played a lot but ive never seen that before chan did have a lot of positive impact early on but hasnt been able to take it to the next level. unless they can lure a huge name here for either the gm and/or coaching job, im generally ok with giving this regime one more chance to see if they can find that baby

Meathead replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

dan rooney is cheap -
well most likely chan is here another season at least at the beginning and id love to see him and david have someone like romo to work with. i like fitz but hes just barely 'good enuf' and romo would be 'plenty good enuf' so it would be an upgrade if they could do that then they could consider not reaching in the first and trying to find their qb gem in the 2nd or 3rd round and let him sit for half a season or more still, id rather they try for a top pick guy. that remains the highest chance for success, albeit still a shakey one, so nows the time to go all in i would think

to clarify, i say that sort of tongue in cheek. he didnt stand a chance bc of the current rigid litmus test nature of the far right (including both the evangelicals and the tea party) wouldnt let him get nominated. but if they had found a way to actually get him to win the ticket i think he does supplant obama bc he was by far the best candidate to capture the vital middle the key failure point was clearly the tea party. even with their waning influence they still had enough power to shape the primary season, which was a disaster for the party. it was probably one cycle too early for that faction to learn their lesson - their brand of inexperienced rigid compliance cost them the election make no mistake, the failure of the party to recognize their best candidate, both in character and ability to actually win, is a major stain on their credibility. they desperately need to rebrand, but so far they are just wasting effort on the same old tired logo

im sure the families of the dead and wounded are glad you made an ultra cheap political point out of this http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/24/justice/new-york-firefighters-shooter/ (CNN) -- William Spengler had killed before. The first time, presumably, was in 1980. Then about 40 years old, Spengler struck his grandmother with a hammer. A year later, he was convicted of first-degree manslaughter in her death. Flash forward to before dawn Monday, in Webster, New York, a town of about 43,000 people located 10 miles east of Rochester. That's when and where, Police Chief Gerald Pickering said, Spengler presumably set his and his sister's home ablaze, lugged weapons up a hill, then waited. When local firefighters arrived at the scene, Spengler fired and killed again. Authorities haven't given a motive for the latest violence, which left two firefighters dead and two other firefighters and an off-duty police officer from a nearby town wounded. And they can't ask the shooter, who was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head around 11 a.m., about six hours after first calls about the fire came in.
