Bills contact Fitz to Restructure
Meathead replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly as one very wise and extremely handsome noggin of beef once predicted there isnt an nfl team that would want him to start now on his current deal, but with a restructure theres probably four or five that would be very happy to have him compete for the job. theres really no reason whatsoever for it not the be the bills and im not sure how we are defining 'very effective' here, but as a game manager he would have been fine if somehow wannys brain forgot how to coach a defense. hes probably not ever going to be much better than an '08 chad pennington, with a similar long ball deficiency that limits the offense, but that would be more than good enough on a team without a swiss cheese defense to challenge for the playoffs. holding the spot down until a young qb he is mentoring would be a great gig here in buffalo, so i too am happy to see this come to fruition -
over the past few years ive gone heavy organic due to some mysterious health problems, had some limited success in addressing them, not sure how much the organics have helped but it cant hurt anything but the pockebook. ive read up some on the subject and theres a lot of truth to what youre saying, theres still a ton of grey areas and lack of oversight on organics so producers are often getting away with things you certainly wouldnt want in your so called all natural foods i try to buy from local suppliers as much as i can so that i have access to thm and can ask about their procedures. even then you cant be totally sure but its better than shelling out even more to buy from wegmans and just hope its legit. some things are really hard to find, like raw milk yogurt, organic cabbage, and organic pork i find it humorous that one common criticism is that organic food isnt any more nutritious. well duh, thats not the point. you buy organic bc its not supposed to have all the other stuff in it beside nutrients that results in your body becoming too toxic. you want just the nutrients without all the other crap. id like to think what limited success ive had with my health problems is due to reducing those toxins, but since its not something that conventional medicine currently measures you really can only make that determination anecdotally. but believe me, when you feel like crap all the time you are willing to try anything, and toxin-reduced food is a good place to start imo

jboyst62: well worth repeating

my gparent used to own a farm about four miles from my folks house and we used to go over there all the time to work on it as well as partake in the wealth of goodies it produced. i generally despised the work, mainly bc i had bad allergies and would come home miserable with breathing difficulties, welts on my skin, and just plain dirty all over. but i sure am mighty appreciative of those that choose to do that work and dont mind spending lots of money at their roadside stands and markets. loved that paul harvey bit too -

um mcfly, two things first im pretty sure he was stating he would rather feel hungry and 'good tired' working for himself than exploited and used up by someone else secondly, you said youd hold your tongue then you didnt. so not really your best moment -

Titus Young released 2x, arrested 4x
Meathead replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the key question for any team that picks him up is can you make a determination that he will 'straighten out' before the final cutdown date. bc if you make a committment to carry him on the final roster you are going to have to release some other player you could have kept. roster spots are critical, especially for a new coach trying to add talent to a team that has underperformed. that one roster spot could have been some other young prospect without that kind of very hazardous baggage. come along game two or six or ten you could easily find yourself with this guy making trouble for you and the guy that could have helped you is already on somebody elses roster frankly his sins are so severe that i personally wouldnt think that is a good enough risk and would pass -

Blizzard of '77 - 36 Years Ago Today - Where Were You?
Meathead replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
lived in wilson ny. barely made it to my gparents farm in ransomville before we got snowed in. was watching commander tom when the power finally went out. huddled around the fireplace roasting chestnuts and playing break the ice, tip it, and monopoly. watched the plows try to keep randall road open until stuck cars made it impossible to plow anymore. watched the cars disappear into the snow and the people climb out and mush to the houses nearby. watched the enormous snow drift eat cars for hour upon hour. watched the even more gigantic snow drift start to eat the houses. watched the people in the nearby house walk out the third floor window before the house got buried. watched my grandpa get zhitfaced at least ten times. watched my folks worry about almost running out of food and firewood. then watched the parade of people make their way to the massive car filled snowdrift and dig them out with what looked like teaspoons for shovels. awesome -
No talk between Bills and Byrd / Levitre
Meathead replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we already know whats gonna happen with byrd, bills will try to resign him and if they cant hes franchised. that ones easy levitre is tougher. as good as he is, you dont break the bank on a guard. if he wants money above all else hes gone. if he has interest in staying then he gives a hometown discount and the bills gladly keep him. id say its 50/50 at best and probably is going to take the paper elsewhere -

veeeeery disappointing, stevie hes definitely become a leader on the team. to say something like that so casually sets a horrible precident for the rest of the team. id be furious if i were his coaches absolutely guarantee there will be a retraction shortly -
