ive spent literally decades pondering and researching this topic (race related social issues). i cant change all your programming in a couple posts but i can give you a hint: trevon martin is partially responsible for his own death and we arent doing anybody especially young black males any good by ignoring that reality theres no doubt a guy like zimmerman should go to jail for manslaughter, but treyvon contributed directly to his own death by making the decision to be a badass and attack someone who was harrassing him. that was a bad decision that was made due to a combination of factors, including the desire to be a gangsta and the decision to wear a hoodie. if you go into the ghetto you will see signs in the businesses saying 'no hoodies' bc criminals wear hoodies to hide their identity, thus black folks rightfully find them menacing. so by wearing his hoodie treyvon knew full well what statement he was making, and his actions after that showed what his self-image intentions were. somehow, in what is actually a shocking and very damaging phenomenon of mass denial, we refuse to hold him and others with his thought pattern responsible. if you want to know more and start to educate yourself about this phenomenon, read Shelby Steeles book White Guilt. if youre interested i can provide you with others treyvon certainly didnt deserve to die for those mistakes, but he is not guiltless in his demise. by ignoring that reality we are actively enabling young brothers like these to continue with their poor thought systems by giving them the belief that its ok. we (all of us of all colors) need to actively discourage these thought systems. my black friends have educated me that there are different definitions of gangsta, one side that includes being mentally tough, taking care of your family, and watching out for others. then there is the far more popular vesion that we all know and should hate. but the conditioning is so strong, the cultural reinforcement so steady, the ones on the bad side have no idea what youre talking about when you try to tell them about the good side, they see the same references and always associate it with being disrespectful, selfish, and violent. its like they cant even hear you become educated. reject the bad gangsta culture and promote the good one. dont let your friends/kids even for a moment think that any part of that whole violent tough guy subculture is at all acceptable. dont buy any products, dont sing the songs, dont watch the movies, and speak out against all of it when you see it. you will have to risk being called racist, and you will be, to do this. dont back down, be brave, be vocal, be right. just please for the love of god and all our black brothers and sisters, dont remain silent and pretend it doesnt exist or it isnt a factor in the horrific freqency of blacks suffering and dying american history is full of terrible crimes against people of color, and there was a time when residual white guilt over that was probably proper. those days are over. in reality, that was not a symptom of color but a symptom of general human dysfunction. it was never really a black vs white thing, it was always a human vs human thing. whites need to be brave enough to finally overcome their guilt, stop squelching dialog simply bc its uncomfortable, and engage our communities of color to help them find solutions to problems like these. its past time but most of us havent even started start today

well we need to come up with somebody then i suppose we could go with ellison, who had a shorter career. i kinda liked having guidrey in there simply bc we have so few of the older players in our list. i think we could come up with somebody worse than ellison but for now i suppose we should go with him

im not even going to look first and guess they were all black i watch the news and see stories about crimes and sit there going 'pls dont be black, pls dont be black'. then i hear the reporter 'police have identified shaniqua jones ...' oh crap of course a bunch of you will now viciously accuse me of being racist, which of course is absurd, especially considering i was married to a black woman. my concern is exactly that, that we cant even talk about these issues, thus we essentially allow the black subculture to have this dysfunction, and we pretent like it will all work itself out if we just remain silent and act like we dont have this kind of intentional ignorance bias the gangsta subculture is a poison that is ensnaring our black brothers and sisters, while white people pretend its not an issue. it is and we need to admit it

you could make the game even more exciting by having the walls detonate when players run into them. when players explode the fans could all do a friday after next cheer 'you got blown the fk out!'. good times

this kills me every time i see it, which lately has been a lot if they really want to stop 'underage sex' then they should start holding the younger participant responsible in some way too if a twelve year old hurts/kills somebody with a shotgun they try them as an adult and hold them responsible. if a sixteen year old injures someone with their car they try them as an adult and hold them responsible but if a fifteen to eighteen year old screws somebody older than them they claim the younger participant has no ability or responsibility WHATSOEVER to control their own genitals its crazy if the older participant gets a felony worth twenty years how about the younger participant getting a misdemeanor. how about a ticket and a fine. how about a smack in the back of the head and being grounded for a freakin week. all the younger participant gets is laid, some fawning over sympathy, and a story to tell. most likely they knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they got into it and know theres absolutely no consequence, so why not granted, we dont want younger people being taken advantage of, especially when theres some position of authority involved like student/teacher, boss/subordinate, or employer/employee. but to send someone to jail for a huge portion of their life when the other person involved in the incident that sent them there gets ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is pure lunacy i guarantee you, if we held teens even partially responsible for their involvement these instances would be dramatically reduced

the pettine d will pretty much be the polar opposite of the wanny d so virtually nothing weve seen the last year or two means much regarding how they will perform going forward sheppard has been a major disappointment, but who hasnt. much to my shock and horror, that wanny defense didnt seem to know its ass from a hole in the ground so i aint holding individual performances against anybody the coaches are obviously doing their evals now to try to see who will fit where. i just hope pettine can work some magic right away cuz man am i tired of sucking like that

kelsay is waay more valuable than merriman. thirty one other teams had the chance to sign shawn and passed for a reason. if kelsay is cut it is guaranteed somebody will pick him up and put him in their rotation. im fine with whatever this staff decides to do with either of them but id say odds are at least 4-1 in kelsays favor over merriman staying on next year im pretty confident they will bring moore back. even though its a different regime it was still the bills that gave him his shot over merriman in the first place. hes probably got a good deal of loyalty to this team so if they want him they probably have him no problem
