  1. Remember when Bennie showed up at halftime, and the MudDogs won the Bourbon Bowl....do ya?
  2. what about resigning nate clements? Need mad cash to keep him, but i hope they can work out a deal that's reasonable.
  3. Actually that is changing with some significant events recently, the buffalo-niagra medical campus, center for excellence complex, etc. Tens of Millions have been invested into biomedical research in downtown buffalo. I can tell you that there are quite a number of positions with openings, a large variety of jobs in biomedical research. Recruitment is very active, and will pick up even more as the center of excellence opens (opening ceremonies started today, but only a few have actually moved into the building itself). More info: http://www.bnmc.org/ My wife and I both grew up in SoCal, and I have lived in the bay area and in the south before coming here. The public schools here in the 'burbs are outstanding, and quality of life is very good. Kids in the better school districts get a similar education which you'd have to pay for private school in other places. I can tell you horror stories of the L.A. public school system...what a difference between the education our kids are getting here vs. my brothers in SoCal public schools. We could never afford our current lifestyle, nice home, etc. in many other places. We are lucky, my wife and i both earn a decent buck, which is on par with what i might get in other places. My wife could earn quite a bit more someplace else, however. Still, we've looked into moving several times for jobs with higher salaries....but they would have to pay WAY more than would even be reasonable to maintain our current lifestyle in those locations. We love it here, and have no plans of leaving. I would NEVER move back to california...it sucks there. All in all, in our situation, we couldn't do much better anywhere else!
  4. I don't like parrish as the #2 much, at least not yet. I see him as fitting in as a real dangerous slot guy running quick slants, stick routes, crossing routes, and stretching the defense long occasionally. Looking back at all the Rams offensive success, they always have a slot guy that is a burner. Az-Akeem (sp?) lit it up, and more recently that guy kevin curtis (800yds last year).
  5. I think one addition to the passing game will be the TEs...I look for them to have greater production than in the last couple of years. Also, the RBs should be more active in catching passes and that may be the biggest difference. The new regime throws a lot more to the backs out of the backfield, and the fact that willis won't be coming off every 3rd down will help. With the rams, s. jackson had over 300 yards receiving last year, and faulk had 290! 600 yards from the HB position. NICE! Can the A-train catch?
  6. Start losing again? They haven't exactly started winning in the 1st place....at least from my perch. They look to be improved this year, but they haven't done anything yet. They have to win before they can start losing again. Otherwise its just more losing.
  7. oh, never mind i found it: "Naming Rights: Marine Midland Bank paid $15 million for 20-year naming rights in 1996. March 17, 2000 changed to parent company name HSBC Arena " http://hockey.ballparks.com/NHL/BuffaloSabres/index.htm That's $750K a year, which started 10 YEARS ago. Ralphie could get at least $1 million/year for the stadium. Sounds to me he just doesn't want to, and likes his name up in lights instead. Methinks he should pay the franchise $1 million a year out of his own pocket for the rights! Hell, M&T Bank pays the Ravens $5 million a year to name their stadium...they did that because they were just moving into the baltimore market at the time. The generosity and involvement of M&T in the community would make them obvious candidates. Sounds like a load of krap to me. ================== "Businesses regularly pay millions to attach their names to sports and entertainment venues, such as the FleetCenter in Boston, sponsored by Fleet Bank. M&T Bank this week agreed to pay the Baltimore Ravens $5 million a year for 15 years to put its name on the football team’s stadium. " http://www.commercialalert.org/news/archiv...g-naming-rights
  8. 250K here, and $3 million in TN....i call bullsh#t on ralph. Anyone know how much HSBC pays to have their name on the hockey arena?
  9. You can't do that, chief -- these are optional, the league wouldn't allow such a stance. Of course, you could 'unofficially' do that, but couldn't tell willis or his agent about it. The players are not required to be at the OTAs....it's in the contract.
  10. I am convinced that, with the internet, NFL network and sirius NFL radio going 24-7 on the NFL -- the 'experts' honestly don't have much more information than we do nowadays. I have no doubt that we know WAY more about the Bills than he does, he is just flapping his gums. Most of us watch every game, may go to training camp, and have been doing so for a long time. Salsbury I bet didn't watch one Bills game last year from beginning to end. Him talking about the bills would be like us having to talk about the cleveland browns. We'd read crap on the internet for 20 minutes, and then blow smoke out of our arses. Take the 'experts' opinions with a grain of salt, because that's generally all it's worth.
  11. if u have adelphia cable, u also get NFL network. Even with the basic packages
  12. Great story about the security guard --- now THAT's funny! I'll always remember rob johnson running around at the end without his shoe to complete a pass.
  13. i saw the show. Well, the willis interview. I can't stand stephen A, so kept clicking over until willis came on. I also saw edgerrin james interviewed on ESPN a few minutes later. My god -- Willis makes The Edge sound like Albert Einstein. Willis couldn't tell a rational story to save his life. He is almost incoherent at times, and hard to listen to. Willis did say he was not a football fan, and doesn't really follow it. When asked what he thinks about Jauron as the new coach, Willis said he seems like a nice guy. Stephen A basically kept ragging on the Bills, Marv Levy being 80, the buffalo weather, and the lack of a QB. They kept cutting away to show replays of JP last year fumbling the ball and being sacked, while Stephen A was ragging on the Bills QB. It was pretty low class if you ask me. Willis also showed no backbone, not defending his team or his teammates, but rather going along with it. From this show I learned that: A) Willis dogged it in the title game against OSU, because he didn't want to get hurt B) He isn't a football fan, and doesn't really care about it C) he has only met jauron once D) He won't stand up for the other players on his team, and will probably never be a team leader. Still very immature. E) He is grateful that the Bills drafted him and gave him a chance to play. F) He learned the hard way about saying he is the best RB in football. Now he would only say he was in the top 10, probably top 5. Dumbest move --> Willis thought they were off camera, when stephen A said 'you need a new qb'...willis says 'yeah, i know, but i can't say that on TV'
  14. Frank Reich in the comeback game 15 years ago is your measuring stick? That's happened once in the history of the NFL, and he sucked it up in the 1st half. That's not a good measuring stick!
  15. Why wouldn't they be practicing for the 1st time? That doesn't make much sense. All they do for months after college season is train for the combine.
  16. Please people, try to post before you think. Why would the jets need winfield when they already have champ bailey at strong safety?
  17. Looks like they are practicing for the upcoming boat cruise on lake erie #87's got it down, he'll be great with the strippers in international waters. He is obviously very very careful about practicing safe sex, given he is wearing gloved and all.
  18. My Goodness....look at the pictures -- Willis doesn't wear his seatbelt! First JP gets a motorcycle license, and now Willis is cruising around without a seatbelt. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE CALL MARV ????????
  19. Why is JP getting a motorcycle license? If I see him around on a bike I will take it away from him. Somebody call marv. JP = winslow
  20. Hopefully it is the last one for craig nall
  21. pretty sad when a bunch of amateurs like us can discredit this guys story in less than 5 notes
  22. HAHA, only 3 teams got better than a 'B' (3 B+) How would a team go about getting an 'A'? I would have to give Kiper an 'F'. If he was drafting a team, he would have taken Youboty in the 1st round, while he actually went in the 3rd round! Talk about a reach! He also had Ko Simpson going in the early 2nd round! Another reach! I know there were numerous other examples like this, where Kiper had a guy going 1 to 2 rounds earlier than he actually did. Winston Justice, Pope (TE), Ko Simpson. Kiper would have to give Kiper an 'F'.
