  1. actually that's not a bad idea. I do that on madden and it is very difficult for my opponents to stop...especially with a running QB.
  2. is bannan playing guard, or defense? At that price for him, they should make him start both ways
  3. I don't see all the randle el hype either. He's a solid, fast receiver, but doesn't seem to be the elite player that people are making him out to be. His TD pass in the Super Bowl is all people talk about when they discuss how great he is. So he threw a nice ball, so what...he still isn't an elite WR.
  4. stupid question -- if they keep him, would 2006 be the last year of mould's contract? Wondering if we would be in this same predicament next year if he was kept this year. If so, might be better to take the cap hit now. We could still use a safety, and a qb in free agency
  5. C'mon, Sam was too fat to play more than 20 snaps a game. He was dominant 5 yrs ago, but is far into the downside of his career. He was a cancer in the locker room. This is a big improvement, IMO. Would be nice to get another DT (like ngata) to pair with trip and have edwards rotating. That would be a solid, albeit not dominant, Dline. Big ups to marv on this one. Trip was rated as the 2nd best free agent DT -- what else do you want? Who would be significantly better at a reasonable cost? I am sorry if i listen to the experts rather than someone who watched a couple of Colts games, and wasn't focused on breaking down the Dline play. Here is Scouts' write up: Here's what Scouts, Inc. has to say. Grade 73 (70-74: Good Starter - Good starter who is usually a consistent player with excellent competitiveness and is the heart of the team, but is not a dominant player against the better players he faces on a weekly basis. ... Gives you great effort, and you are glad he is on your team, but he may or may not go to the next level.) Expert's Take Tripplett has adequate size to play inside on the defensive line and has very good overall athletic ability. He has very good initial foot quickness and has a good explosive get off. He shows that he is capable of getting into the running lanes and being disruptive. He has above average strength and uses his hands well to disengage from blockers. He does an excellent job in stunts and twists and also has the agility to be effective dropping in the zone blitz. He has good lateral movement and has good body control and change of direction skills. He does a good job with play recognition and in re-directing to the ball. He fights hard to get up-field and gives a fairly consistent effort in chase. While he has good quickness off the ball, he tends to come off high and is not effective in holding the line of scrimmage versus the double-team block. He has improved a great deal in his ability to use a variety of pass rush techniques. He is a little inconsistent in his ability to finish, however, he is capable of getting a good push on the pocket. He has developed a bit of a nasty attitude, competes hard and is an aggressive hitter when he gets to the ball carrier.

  7. Seems like a high character guy, fitting into Marv's mold. He just turned 27, has only played 4 seasons -- so he is just getting into his prime as an NFL DT. He will only get better. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/huskies/45877_husk08.shtml A few exerpts: "Despite the All-America honors, Sports Illustrated feature stories, nomination as a Lombardi Award semifinalist and selection to play in the Senior Bowl, Washington noseguard Larry Tripplett has remained unimpressed with himself. Joining him in that opinion is, well, no one." "Tripplett, who bench-presses 450 pounds and set a team-record with a 750-pound squat, is listed as a sure first-round selection on nearly every draft board. ESPN's Mel Kiper projects him going 15th, while The Sporting News lists him 23rd." "He's a joy to be around," Hart said. "He'd be a great coach. He'd be a wonderful teacher. People like him." He's been praised as articulate and humorous so frequently, he added a speech communications minor to his geography major that eventually could lead to a career in broadcasting."
  8. IMO, this was the best bet for a 3rd qb all along. He's the NotToo QB. NotToo old, notToo expensive, notToo established, notToo good.
  9. Did you take the opportunity to steal his girlfriend?
  10. yes -- Archie also comes with a bad history of concussion problems, which also makes him a risk.
  11. i think this is a very nice addition. As marv said, this guy has also played well in the same system that jauron will be implementing -- that is an important consideration as well. NICE! BUFFALO BILLS -- GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!
  12. we still need another DT. Tripplett is a great get -- a solid starter. We still need another. Could use another DE also, but i say if ngata is there, we take him. But this would at least let us consider Huff if the bills were really high on him.
  13. JJ would have been a nice add, IMO. Rather have him at 4 years x 10 mil, than royal at 5 yes x 10 mil. Me thinks yes
  14. and brees and culpepper and Lavar Arrington and Sedrick Hodge and T.O. How much Cap $$ do those felons have anyway?
  15. It's Good To Talk JP We're with the JP Unzip a JP Can You Tell JP From Butter?
  16. i heard an interview with KW a few weeks ago. He said that he had made his money in the NFL already. He said he wasn't done playing, and if he became a free agent he would be very picky about what team he went to. Money of course would be a consideration, but he only has a few years left for his career, and would only consider playing for teams that had a real chance to win it all right now. ?? Might eliminate us from contention, unless he isn't getting interest from a NE, indy, etc ??
  17. Sounds to me like old Ralphie still has a clue about what's going on. Fact I didn't understand some of what HE was describing makes me a little worries...i'm > 50 years younger!
  18. the 1st time i saw it i had to cringe. But later on, i think it was cold pizza, they played more of the interview with RW. The short clip absolutely did not capture what he was saying, and only makes him look like an idiot...on purpose no doubt. If u watch all his comments, RW explains that the vote was done very quickly, merging the two proposals into one. And more time and discussion was needed to appreciate the long-term impact on the league before a vote. Then he quips with his dry humor about not understanding it and being a dropout. His comments about not understanding it and being a dropout were a joke...with RW's dry humor it is hard to tell, which is why he looks so dumb on tv when they take bits and pieces. In fact, u can't tell if he is referring to the quick vote or the proposal itself when he says he didn't understand it. I have many questions about RWs lucidity, but if you listen to the whole conversation, it's not nearly as bad as they're making it our to be.
  19. My sources from deep within one bills drive have told me Bentley will be a Bill come the 1st day of free agency. Sources say Marv leaked this bad info out as a smoke screen. Bentley was spotted at the buffalo airport late last night. He is currently shopping for a home in Hamburg. Terms of the contract have already been agreed upon, but my source could not release them to me until free agency starts. Details to follow as soon as i hear back from Soprano.
  20. I would like to officially thank Mr. Tom Donahoe for the masterful job he did in managing our salary cap. BEAUTIFUL! <applause> <Applause>
  21. thanks for the insight. It will be one tough decision come draft day. I have a hunch the raiders might take him before he gets to us....
  22. from what i've been hearing, it sounds as tho its a pretty deep draft for safety. Could probably nab a good one early in round #2. Then go Oline twice with the 3rd rounders.
  23. Like mama says, the alligator is mean because he's got a big Medulla Oblongata. In this draft, we need mean...the biggest medulla obloNGATA is that DT from oregon. Mama says pick NGATA.
