  1. Steven, let me remind you -- THIS is MY house...and you're not welcome anytime. One less annoying show to skip over when flipping channels. Thank goodness!
  2. Just think how much better he would have been if eric moulds was still on the team ? Or, like some wanted, Terrell Owens!
  3. U gotta line up 3 LBs, and suddenly it's a position of weakness for the Bills. Fletcher is as good as gone, and who knows about Spikes' return to form. Plus, Spikes might be gone after next year anyway. The only sure thing we have is Crowell, who is a decent NFL starter, but nothing great. Remember we also started COY WIRE at LB towards the end of the year! We've got to get 2 LBs one way or another this offseason. One positive for drafting a LB in the 1st round over another position (esp DT, OLine) is that there has been a lot of rookie LBs making an immediate impact in the NFL recently. Hawk, Vilma, Merriman, Lofa Tatupu, Demarcus Ware, Derrick Johnson, DJ Williams, Kam Wimbley(11 sacks), and Ernie Simms to name a few. Each of these guys started as a rookie and had a big impact on their teams. I don't think the track record for DTs is as good. Plus, we drafted 2 rookies at DT last year that should be improved next year. I'll leave the evaluation of which LB up to the pros, but if the stats are correct, this P-willis has pretty good size already for a MLB -- which is something Jauron said they wanted. Another potential position would be DE, if there is a difference maker there. I would not use the 1st round pick on offense unless it is for a very good Oline prospect.
  4. hmmm, so strahan is now back on the market?? Is gay marriage legal in NJ? That's a lot of jack, i may have to consider it.
  5. Ginn is a slightly bigger version of roscoe (remember, the roscoe that Coker called one of the most exciting players Miami has ever produced?). No Fing way. Ginn is a shiny, sparkly piece of cheesecake with hot chocolate sauce smeared all over the top. Would be nice to have, but isn't going to sustain you very well if you don't first have a full course of meat and potatoes. We need meat and potatoes. Hmmmm, sweet tooth kicking in....
  6. This is actually pretty cool -- you can see wayne 1st went to pittsburgh to talk to cower, then to costa rica to meet with pete carroll, as has been reported. This AM he is in jville. Must be meeting with an assistant there or something. Interesting he also made trips to atlanta and SD -- maybe a last ditch talk with the new falcons coach, and/or in search of potential new GMs? http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N737WH/...1301Z/KFLL/MRLB
  7. your mortgage may be higher in other places, but in essence you are paying that extra $$ in equity on your house, which when you sell you will get back. To me that's more tolerable than flushing it down the toilet to city hall.
  8. Not a chance in heil. Many would be thrilled to trade WM for a #1 -- suggests most think he's not worth a #1 (i.e,. great trade for the bills). Giants would probably feel the same way. Giants could trade for C Dillon for a #4, or maybe ricky williams for a #6. Those are just a couple of options. Or, they could use that pick and get an even younger quality RB without any history of a major injury. WM on the open market would get a late 3rd round pick i would guess. Anyone have a list of players in the last 3 years that have gone for a 1st round pick?
  9. IMO, I don't think the team would have made the progress they have if Moulds was back this year. He would have been b*tchin and moanin' in the locker room and fighting hard to get holcomb as the starter. Better off without him.
  10. Put Nall in so JP doesn't get hurt. We're gonna need him if we hope to make the playoffs the next 2 weeks
  11. If you don't like the ref's calls this week, feel free to drop Ed an email and let him know. http://www.jshfirm.com
  12. I predict Marv drafts a LB with the 1st round pick.
  13. GO BRUINS!!!!!! FUSC Trojans are only good once... There is a furniture store in LA that was offering FREE FURNITURE, if UCLA won, to any customer who bought > $2,000 in merchandise up until kickoff....IF UCLA won. Ooooops! Pete Carroll is a prick, i am glad he lost
  14. Deluca talking about Losman: DeLuca talking about Leinart: Your contradictions are starting to contradict themselves. Dats enough rope boyz, he's done hung hisself wid it.
  15. Shaun King Patrick Ramsey Jerald Sowell (RB, Jets, TB) Richie Petitbon Rodney Holman (pro bowl TE, retired 1996) Chris Bush (WR) Tulane has more active NFL QBs (3) than most division I programs
  16. Did you hear JP's comments on Dunta? Actually, he didn't even know the dudes name, just called him #23. After the interception for a TD, JP said "Obviously it wasn't like that was Champ Bailey or anything. In that case you would expect it. But that was #23. Obviously, that is just embarrasing. I hope he doesn't feel too good, because i gift wrapped that and tied a nice little bow on it for him."
  17. Memo to Bills Fans: You should stop looking for validation via the national media. Until the team makes the playoffs, you will only be disappointed. Be satisfied with a great performance and a great win yesterday. That's all that matters.
  18. why would you only judge a WR based on the # of TD catches he has? That is downright silly. It's a bad statistic, not a good measuring stick at all. Let's look inside the numbers. Evans has the 14th most receptions in the whole NFL. Since each team starts 2 WRs, that's 14th out of 64 starting WRs. Pretty good. He's 28th in receiving yardage -- out of 64, not too bad. He's 10th in the AFC in receiving yardage. JP has completed 122 passes for 1313 yards. 30.3% of them have been to Evans. Evans has 33% of the Bills total passing yardage this season. To compare, Marvin Harrison has 28.1 % of the Colts passing yardage. So evans actually has accounted for more relative production than harrison. Where he hasn't been great is yards per catch, a result of not getting him the ball in space. He's at 11.6 yds/catch, which isn't that great, and puts him out of the top 40. Too many of his routes are hooks, curls, slants in tight. But that is a result of the offense, and overall poor offensive production. His long is only 27 yards, which for a guy like Evans is not good enough. Also keep in mind he is double teamed a majority of the time, without another big threat to make defenses worry about. Your nuts if u put it on Evans. He has played well, and he's a legit #1 WR. And he's only in his 3rd year, and will only get better. ====================== Bye the way, what's your fascination with Moulds? At this point in his career he's nothing better than mediocre. Your the one who absolutely guaranteed we would trade TO to the Eagles for Moulds. How did that work out for ya? p.s. -- Andre Johnson being healthy for the 1st time since his rookie year, and Carr's development, has more to do with his performance than Moulds. By your measuring stick (TD catches), Mould sucks too, he only has 1.
  19. Agreed. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, but this is only one side of the story...this guy could have been running his mouth and asking for it. Not that that justifies a fight, but the couple probably aren't little angels as the article suggests. Notice how in both articles, they just had to get in the fact that the Pats Destroyed the Bills on the field. Just had to get that jab in, as if the outcome of the game is relevant at all to this story. That's their (writer +/- couple) mentality subtly showing thru, which is suspicious in its own right.
  20. so, you would rather have bunckley and nobody than tripplett AND Whitner? Hmmmm
  21. You really should try thinking thru the possible scenarios first and see where they lead you. In my opinion, here are the 3 possible scenarios: 1) Pull JP, start Holcomb. Most obvious result: Team goes 4-12 or 5-11, JP is shot, we learn once again Holcomb is no good. At end of the season, we have no QB, and we are nowhere with JP. i.e., we're fu#*ed. We've thrown out 2007 and there is no hope in sight. Maybe draft a new guy and start another rookie on day 1 vs. go get a free agent like aaron brooks, jeff garcia, or kyle boller. No thanks. Or, go back to JP, after robbing him of a 1/2 season of development. Either way, 2007 is lost. 2) Pull JP, start Nall. (A) Most obvious result: Team goes 4-12 or 5-11, JP is shot and we learn Nall is not the answer. At end of season, we have no QB, and we are nowhere with JP. i.e., we're fu#*ed. Result = step backwards again, starting a new QB in 2007 = doom. 2007 = 5-11, with no hope in site. (B) Possible result, albeit unlikely -- Nall doesn't suck bad, and maybe he shows some improvement. But his is mediocre to below average. But maybe there is hope. All we can do is then give him a shot in 2007 to have a full season, most likely result = he's below average, team goes 6-10. Result = step backwards, and we're searching for a new QB for 2008. So 2007 is gone, and 2008 is question marks looking for a new guy. More likely, (A) or (B)? While we the fans haven't seen Nall play and don't know what he can do -- the coaches see him everyday. They have his whole career on tape, and have talked to Green Bay coaches as well -- they have the info needed to make a decision on Nall, we do not. To pretend Nall is a total question mark is foolish. He is a question mark to the fans, but not to the coaching staff. If Nall had potential, Green Bay would not have planned to draft JP (until the Bills jumped in front of them), and they wouldn't have drafted Aaron Rodgers. Pretty important signal that you are ignoring. 3) Stick with JP. (A) possible result = JP continues to struggle, team goes 4-12 or 5-11. JP doesn't have it, we look for a new guy in 2007. (B) Possible result = JP continues to get better, team goes 4-12 or 5-11. Gains confidence, and we go into 2007 with a more experienced QB that will continue to get better. 2007 = 8-8, with possible playoffs in 2009. The ONLY way to salvage 2007 is sticking with JP. You have to find out about him this year, then decide! while you may talk about this year, one cannot put one's head in the sand and pretend like this is not a rebuilding year. You can't pretend that next year doesn't exist. It does....opening day 2007 is approaching.
  22. I thought Leinart was OK, but it was the Cards defense and inept Bears O that made the difference. Leinart's 2 TD passes were both 2 yard hitches, followed by the WRs making great runs and breaking tackles to score. He didn't throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field all day, and a lot of his gains were check downs, with the RB or WR making a play and breaking a tackle. Plus, chicago gave the cards VERY short fields to work with with SIX turnovers! 2nd half Leinart was a pretty poor 11 for 24 for 107 yds and a fumble. Plus this was a home game, playing on the road is much different. That said, it looks like Leinart has a chance to be a pretty good QB, but those blowing him already -- you are a little premature.
  23. While early, it looks like we'll have a pick somewhere around 10 give or take. DL, OL, LB, QB, RB ?? WR looks pretty deep this year with Johnson, Ginn, Jarrett as potential Top 10 picks. I think Marv goes LB and picks PAUL POSLUSZNY, Penn State. Won't be long before we need to replace Fletcher, and jury is still out on Spikes returning to form. Given Tripplett signing and Mcargo I doubt DT is in the cards, and are probably other places of need more than DE. Option #2 would be OT, that is a pretty deep position also.
