Sounds like an NHL trade. -
Bruins are maxing out their window. Some of their best are old as the hills.

I don't know many folks who believe Mahomes lacks elite talent. Most of them think he benefits from Reid calling the plays and recently a superior oline. Before they had a superior oline, they had Kelce and Hill, so there have always been advantages on that side of the ball. As far as Allen goes, while I think he got somewhat wild with hero ball tendencies, there are mitigating factors there as well. We don't really know the extent that injury limited his capacities, though there are former players and others who have opined that the nature of his injury made long throws much more feasible. If you add to that significant inadequacies at the slot position and the particular skill set of Davis as outlined in Joe Marino's breakdown (he's not good at short and intermediate routes,) one has a convergence that would dictate a proclivity for the long ball. When one adds to that a subpar oline it is a recipe for problems and its no wonder if Josh got flustered some by all that. -

I'm secretly hoping the rumors of a trade up are to go and get this guy. Doesn't look like he's had a visit, though, and I think I read we normally pick one of the fellas among the allowed 30 visits. Also, of course, they are going to have to resist taking a second round lb in the first like some folks on here advocate. He probably isn't, but he's wrong altogether so might as well be wrong there, too. -

The Chiefs had a much better oline and Andy Reid calling plays. -

Draft Dalton Kincaid and make 12 personnel your base formation. -
Fair, balanced assessment: he's best at longer routes because it takes him time to build up speed. He's a "horizontal clapper" as a catcher which is inherently going to end up with more drops than if he set up a "catching diamond" to nestle the ball. He is good at putting himself in position to catch the ball, which is probably why folks get frustrated when it results in a relatively high drop rate. Marino thinks Davis is a great WR4 in a high volume passing offense. He's a mixed quality WR2 and most of his deficiencies are probably not going to be fixed just by Davis being healthy. Aside: Marino really does look like Josh Allen's pudgy brother.

I have been pushing for Kincaid in the first if he falls to 27 or Washington in the second, though I think you have to trade up from 59 to get him. Kincaid is my not so secret crush for this draft. I agree that you would have to employ a lot more 12 personnel. Folks have dismissed the idea saying we don't even use Knox, but that does not properly countenance a true change in the base deployment. (The other thing you get is folks who like the idea because they don't think Knox is any good. I think they are wrong there as well. I know you agree on that.) I threw out Mayer because he is often mocked in the first. He is not a player I am particularly interested in drafting.

It's not a reach if the offensive player is Dalton Kincaid or Michael Mayer. Folks don't think TE is worth the pick. I don't agree in this case. Indeed, I have a sneaking suspicion OBD may countenance Darnell Washington at 27, which is too high, but I don't think you should ignore this position as a possibility. It's one of the strongest in a weak draft.

I am hoping you are a very prolix bot, because I'd hate to think you are an actual human. Also, your grammar is poor.

TSW 1.0 Draft Poll - Who should the Bills select at #59

Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the actual draft. -

Fella is a DT and former wrestler. Sean McD approves of this message. -
You'll be fortunate to get Kincaid or Mayer at 27. You can't trade down if you are aiming at one of them. You could trade down for Washington most likely. I'd add LaPorta to those three as the best in the draft. I think they are all gone before 59, so you either take one in the first, trade back, or trade up from 59.
-
Well, I don't think it logically follows that because Reid is better at scheming folks open that the players that are schemed open are inferior weapons. You could speculate that some of the Bills' offensive woes were due to lesser play calling, but unless you can experiment with identical conditions, it's hard to make definitive comparison.
-
Do you really thing folks don't know that Andy Reid is a superlative offensive coach? Naturally that is an advantage.

I'm under the impression AZ is dealing Hopkins to get out from under the contract. They might conceivably retain some of it, but I think this particular scenario is unlikely.

Draft Prospect Interviews with Bills - Post 'em here
Dr. Who replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite two and in that order. Please get one of them, Beane. -
No to Campbell in the first. Still think Addison was a good choice. It's a bad class, but he is definitely a cut above the round two wrs, especially if you are waiting to 59. What this draft is really showing is that having an early and mid second might be better if you can make a couple of trades to make that happen.
-
Very clever narrative. I find it plausible.
-
Well, I agree (as I indicated) with Beck Water's post directly above yours. The hypothetical you portray is indeed a continuation of the standard Process. I hope they alter their habitual procliviites. If they are going D early, I'd rather they invested at a superlative DT or Edge. I don't believe Campbell is anything more than a safe pick at a position that doesn't merit 27, let alone a trade up.
-
I understand about Metcalf. That's why you might take a shot on Johnston if he is available at 27 if you think he has a comparable ceiling and a reasonable chance of reaching it. He's a risk and is not that player out of the box.

Yes, you are in the camp with @Shaw66 who are satisfied with Davis and think he is a solid wr2. That's fine. Your argument is basically that Davis' critics want another number 1, not a wr2. If Davis did not appear to have chronic injury problems and if he did not have enough key drops for that to be noticed by average fans, I think he would be an average 2. I don't see him as better than average despite the numbers you gesture towards. If we were not a team in a SB window, he'd be nothing to fixate over, but I think we are in an era of supercharged offense and that is a position I would like to upgrade. It's not a hole on the roster, so if it can't be upgraded it's not a crisis situation, it's just my preference. There are other ways to attack offensive problems. Improving the oline ought to be priority number one and if that becomes a strength, it will have a good affect for offensive performance generally. Slot receiver needs to be more proficient; maybe Shakir is ready for that, I don't know. I'd like to get a much better TE2, assuming Dorsey will incorporate the weapons given to him into a coherent gameplan. Hypothetically, and I agree with @GunnerBill that he is a boom or bust prospect, so you might be wary of drafting him, I think Quintin Johnston could be a DK Metcalf type player. I would prefer that to Davis. If you brought in Dalton Kincaid, I think he would be another dangerous weapon at a different position, but someone the opposing D would have to account for and gameplan against. If that happens, I am fine with Davis because I think you have added enough elsewhere to lessen the attention the D can place on Diggs and overall made the offense less predictable and harder to defend.

Should be. They need a few parts. KO should retire. Maybe Rousek is ready to fill that role, but they might want another gritty vet. Ideally, you'd bring in a vet goalie like Varlamov or Freddie Andersen to pair with Levi. You definitely need a couple of veteran D. The top of the blueline has great young talent, but Mule takes injuries and in general the lack of talent below the top 3 and a poor or incoherent defensive system are the main deficiencies that need to be addressed. Well, special teams are not that great, either. I still expect a huge leap and having Levi should make the whole team better.
