  1. Yes, that is the apt verb, but I'm going to stick with eradicate as an acceptable alternative for get rid of. Yours is more correct, but somehow I find it less funny.
  2. I chose Smith, though Zavala is probably the correct play. Youth at safety is a proper consideration at any rate. Why Smith over Battle? It's a toss-up, but I'm an UGA fan and if you can't pick your guy in a meaningless faux draft, what's the point of playing pretend GM? Rb room is fine. Let's take a break from day two running backs.
  3. Christopher Smith is the best player on that board. Don't know if safety is the right pick.
  4. Someone posted Joe Marino's Locked On podcast from a few days ago I think where he discusses Gabe Davis at length. I thought it was pretty fair, looking at what is good in his game and what is not. Some of the negative issues are not likely to change, imo. I searched for this so I could advise you where to find it, but the keywords I tried did not bring it up. It's probably somewhere in the endless Hopkins' thread. I like the RB room considerably more than you. I think Cook is better than a 3rd down specialist. Damien Harris is more than a goal line specialist, provided he can stay healthy. Hines could offer more if Dorsey learns how to make use of pass catching running backs. If you don't go LB early, there isn't a lot. Some suggest Henley or Overshown but they are not inside lbs. Not writing home about any of them. I like Trenton Simpson, then Drew Sanders, then Campbell, so I am an outlier from those who are enamored with Capt. Jack. If they take him, I suppose he is a safe, high floor guy, but I think his ceiling is limited. Of course, if we pick him I'll hope he is great. He's old school and that is both admirable and easy to like. I think Campbell is Paul Posluszny. Another fella on here suggested Jack Del Rio as a comp. I just don't like him at 27 and I don't like the notion that one is forced to take a first round lb because of need. I believe McDermott ought to be able to do more with less. They need to stop gobbling up the first round picks on D. It's possible, of course, that there won't be an offensive player worth taking at 27, but I'd still prefer to give priority there unless it's just plain obvious there is no one worth the pick on that side of the ball. Folks don't think TE2 is valuable enough, but I make an exception for Dalton Kincaid. I think he's a weapon and likely better than any WR available at 27. I'll be . . . unhappy, if they go LB, DT with the first two picks which I surmise is their natural bent. If you wait to the second round for an offensive player, I like Matthew Bergeron and Darnell Washington, though Washington goes well before 59. (TE is one of the richer positions in the draft and I think Dorsey should make 12 personnel a base formation. Some folks don't like that. Jimmy crack corn and I don't care.) I do agree that Beane needs a strong draft, so whether I agree with his strategy or not, we're all hoping he hits.
  5. I'd answer you with proper vigor, but I'm rather busy looking for a spittoon to eradicate some chaw just now.
  6. It's all good. We're going to take Paris Johnson at 91.
  7. I don't think one should give into despair because a first year OC had some first year OC issues. He may not be up to the job, but I'm not drafting based on that assumption. Davis is not better than his numbers. I think that's what he is. I'm very aware of Cook. I live near Athens. Where the offense needs addition imo is oline, especially competition at RT, WR2, and TE2. I personally prioritize the offense over D. I am not fixated on replacing Edmunds because I think a veteran FA can be brought in after the draft as a stop gap for a year if you don't get the fella you want. I would rather try that and bulk up the offense. This is an offense dominated league. The NFL wants it that way. The rules are that way. The game is officiated that way. We ought not to do to Josh Allen what the Packers did to Aaron Rodgers waiting to the mid rounds in the draft to throw him a bone.
  8. One man's dream a little is another's nightmare. Folks who keep punting on offense dismay me.
  9. I don't agree with you there. Cook has more potential than that. It's up to Dorsey to use him. Knox is a better TE than his numbers, as well. Player has to be given the opportunities to make the plays.
  10. Correct, just checked. Dean went 83, Bernard 89.
  11. I'm not happy with any of them at 27, but Simpson is the fella I prefer. I think he has the best chance to fill Tremaine's role over time.
  12. Pretty sure you have repeated your narrative with the logic behind it enough that anyone who is more than a casual reader of this board is aware of it. We'll see if it works out that way.
  13. I think he's just saying if there appear to be a lot of posts in a single day, it will probably indicate that something happened. It has nothing to do with random twitter posts from dubious sources and the like.
  14. Bruins are maxing out their window. Some of their best are old as the hills.
  15. I don't know many folks who believe Mahomes lacks elite talent. Most of them think he benefits from Reid calling the plays and recently a superior oline. Before they had a superior oline, they had Kelce and Hill, so there have always been advantages on that side of the ball. As far as Allen goes, while I think he got somewhat wild with hero ball tendencies, there are mitigating factors there as well. We don't really know the extent that injury limited his capacities, though there are former players and others who have opined that the nature of his injury made long throws much more feasible. If you add to that significant inadequacies at the slot position and the particular skill set of Davis as outlined in Joe Marino's breakdown (he's not good at short and intermediate routes,) one has a convergence that would dictate a proclivity for the long ball. When one adds to that a subpar oline it is a recipe for problems and its no wonder if Josh got flustered some by all that.
  16. I'm secretly hoping the rumors of a trade up are to go and get this guy. Doesn't look like he's had a visit, though, and I think I read we normally pick one of the fellas among the allowed 30 visits. Also, of course, they are going to have to resist taking a second round lb in the first like some folks on here advocate. He probably isn't, but he's wrong altogether so might as well be wrong there, too.
  17. The Chiefs had a much better oline and Andy Reid calling plays.
  18. Draft Dalton Kincaid and make 12 personnel your base formation.
  19. Fair, balanced assessment: he's best at longer routes because it takes him time to build up speed. He's a "horizontal clapper" as a catcher which is inherently going to end up with more drops than if he set up a "catching diamond" to nestle the ball. He is good at putting himself in position to catch the ball, which is probably why folks get frustrated when it results in a relatively high drop rate. Marino thinks Davis is a great WR4 in a high volume passing offense. He's a mixed quality WR2 and most of his deficiencies are probably not going to be fixed just by Davis being healthy. Aside: Marino really does look like Josh Allen's pudgy brother.
  20. I have been pushing for Kincaid in the first if he falls to 27 or Washington in the second, though I think you have to trade up from 59 to get him. Kincaid is my not so secret crush for this draft. I agree that you would have to employ a lot more 12 personnel. Folks have dismissed the idea saying we don't even use Knox, but that does not properly countenance a true change in the base deployment. (The other thing you get is folks who like the idea because they don't think Knox is any good. I think they are wrong there as well. I know you agree on that.) I threw out Mayer because he is often mocked in the first. He is not a player I am particularly interested in drafting.
  21. It's not a reach if the offensive player is Dalton Kincaid or Michael Mayer. Folks don't think TE is worth the pick. I don't agree in this case. Indeed, I have a sneaking suspicion OBD may countenance Darnell Washington at 27, which is too high, but I don't think you should ignore this position as a possibility. It's one of the strongest in a weak draft.
  22. I am hoping you are a very prolix bot, because I'd hate to think you are an actual human. Also, your grammar is poor.
  23. Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the actual draft.
  24. Switched my vote to Young.
