I think we have the ability to get younger, cheaper and also improve. I have only gone through offense so far but I was able to add some playmakers on offense, leave 6 draft picks for defense including 1st and 2nd rounders and cut our over the cap amount to about 18 million over which we can easily free up more than that on the defensive side through restructures, extensions, cuts. Cap savings: Extend Dawkins (7 million) Release Harty (5 Million) Release Hines (4 Million) Cut Gilliam (1.9 million) Restructure Allen (23 million) Total cap savings (40.9 million) Additions/Re-signings: - Edwards (2 million) - Ty Johnson (1.5 million) - Quentin Morris (1 million) - Tee Higgins (9 million year 1- diggs gone once number increases) - Terrance Marshall JR- (1.5 million trade 7th rounder. He hasn’t been good in nfl but was good with Brady at LSU) -Carson Steele RB UCLA round 5 (1 million) -Ricky Pearsall WR Florida Round 3 (1 million) - Cam ward QB Wash st round 5 (1 million) Net cap savings: 22.9 million Roster: QB: Josh Allen, Cam Ward RB: James Cook, Ty Johnson, Carson Steele TE: Kincaid, Knox, Morris WR: Diggs, Higgins, Shakir, Pearsall, Marshall JR, (Isabella, shorter, or hamler) OL: Dawkins, McGovern, Morse, Torrence, Brown,Edwards, Bates, Anderson, Van Demark, Doyle This would make the offense younger and cheaper. Curious to see what everyone would like to realistically see happen this off-season. Here are my initial thoughts: Draft picks: 1st, 2nd, 3rd (comp), 4th, 5th (gb), 5th, 6th (LAR), 6th (Houston), 6th, 7th Coaching: -Hire Brady as OC and give him an offseason to implement his offense -ST was brutal this year I think you need to make a change her -Hire a QB coach - I would keep McDermott as HC/DC but I think you need to bring in someone else as assistant HC to help alleviate some of the tasks on MCdermott (Ron Rivera seems logical here) Offense: -OL: I would bring everyone back including David Edwards (hopefully on a similar deal to this year). Edwards filled that 6th lineman big TE role perfectly. The line played well this year and keeping them together will only help - TE: Knox and Kincaid are both going to be here. Morris is a FA if he will come back at vet minimum I bring him back if not use one of your late round picks on a TE to round out the depth chart. -QB: Allen is here and you restructure him to free up over 20 million in cap space. Personally I think it’s time to use a 5th or 6th round pick on a qb who we have under contract for 4 years and that is cheap. If Allen is hurt it doesn’t matter who the backup is. -RB: Cook proved he could be a RB1 this year and I really like Johnson to come back as an RB2/3 on a minimum deal. Once again using a 4th to 6th round pick to fill out this depth chart. Brady will also need to decide if he needs a fullback if he doesn’t I let Gilliam go. Hines is clearly a cut due to cap savings -WR this is where the big changes come on offense. Diggs and Shakir are a solid start and I thing you let Isabella, shorter, kj hamler compete for that 5th/6th wr role but I think you double dip in the draft 1st round and 5th/6th round as well as bring in a mid tier vet (going to be limited due to cap space and if you bring in a Rd1 guy they would be your wr 4. I would be looking at guys like Josh Reynolds, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Aguilar, Curtis Samuel. I would really like Michael Pittman but he will be way to expensive). Defense: -Saftey: this is tough but I think it’s time to say goodbye to poyer and Hyde. Hamlin also needs to go. Cutting poyer I would use his money to sign Jeremy Chin or kyle Duggar. I bring back Rapp on a small contract and I use a Day 2 draft pick on a saftey. Cam Lewis or a late draft pick can be your 4th saftey. Your likely to take a step back at this position with poyer and Hyde gone but it’s time to turn the page. CB: I would extend Douglass and Johnson to lower their cap hits. Benford is your other starter and I keep Elam for one more year as a backup. I think Dane Jackson will be gone and Tre is the tricky one. I think you try to renegotiate his contract to lower the cap hit and provide incentives if not he has to be a cut at his current rate.if Jackson and white are gonna we are going to have to sign a cheaper vet to round out depth chart. LB: If Dodson will resign at a relatively small deal I think your set with Bernard, Milano, Dodson, Spector, Williams. DL: This position is going to need a lot. You have Von, Groot, and Oliver. I think you try to resign jones if it’s reasonable. You’re also going to have to sign a DT free agent and use a day 2 pick on one. As far as DE goes I think brining lawson back makes sense on a minimum deal. If we can get Floyd back on a 2 year 18-20 million dollar deal with a void year I also probably do that then have Kingsley jonothan and a late draft pick compete for that 5th d end spot. Next year will be tough the team will look a lot different and we need to start getting younger and get cap in better shape for the next run. Next year is the year to do it to get ready for 2025.Miami will then have to pay tua and tyreek will be old and, Rodgers will retire, and Reid and Kelce will also be near the end. The goal should be to build for 2025.

Bills should bring the entire oline including backups back, the entire TE group back, and Ty Johnson as a rb3. they need a back up qb (should use a late round pick on one so we have someone for 4 years) they need a rb2- cheap vet or late draft pick (or if they like what fornette has done in practice just bring him in as the rb2 they need 2 wrs (draft one high and a mid tier vet (Diggs, high draft pick, shakir, mid tier vet, resign Sherfield as blocking wr, and shorter

Within the next few seasons there will be 16 international games a year. Every team will have 8 home, 8 away, and 1 international game. Likely split between 6-7 countries.

Morris played 38 percent of the snaps vs the jets and 26 percent of the snaps against the eagles. Gave Davis was over 95 percent in both games. You give all of morris snaps to Knox and 10-15 percent of Davis snaps. That gets Knox up to 40-50 percent of the snaps and gets gabe into a better spot around 80 percent

I am a super optimistic fan and I’m not giving up but just looking at reality. The dolphins have a much much easier schedule than the bills going forward and already area game up. The D is decimated by injuries and we would need to win 6 of of 8 to lock in wildcard. We are currently sitting at 9th in the afc. I think overall the window on this group of players had closed and we just need to retool for another run with Josh in his prime

Unfortunately unless the dolphins implode of the next few weeks I don’t think the bills will make the playoffs this year. Right now we have 4 afc losses and lose most of the tiebreakers if not all of them. There will be plenty of time this off-season to talk about all these items in more details but here are some of my thought: 1. I think core group of players has run its course. It’s time to retool for the next run. 2. we will likely be picking the higher in the draft than we have in several years and we have a lot of picks this year. We must hit on the early picks to set up our next run. 3. Our schedule looks like it will be much easier next year. Pats should still suck, we play the NFC west and AFC south. We will likely finish 2nd or 3rd in the division which means we will avoid KC, Philly, Baltimore and will likely get the Steelers, cowboys, and chargers instead. 4. Although not all the offensive struggles are on Dorsey I think they need to move on and find an experienced OC (If frank Reich gets canned in Carolina I would take a look). With McDermott focused on the D having someone on offense with HC experience would be nice. 5. It’s time to move on from Davis and either invest a high draft pick or sign a guy in FA who has been consistent. It looks like we will have a solid core with diggs, shakir, Knox and Kincaid but we need another weapon. 6. We need another back to compliment cook. We don’t need to invest a ton of cap space or draft capital but we need to bring someone else who can be an 1b type back. 7. The oline has mostly been fine. I think they look worse than they are sometimes because Allen holds the ball so long. I would bring David edwards back for depth, bring in a tackle for depth and hopefully keep continuity. The one change I could see would be to drop Morse for bates to open cap space. 8. The d is hard to judge because of all the injuries but I think they are going to have some tough decisions on a few players. What do you do with white? Poyer? Hyde? Von will be here due to his contract. Do you resign epenesa and jones? The bbills need to get younger and cheaper on d in a hurry.

I don’t think we should give up a 1st but if you can get a proven young player on a first you do it even if it’s going to cost you salary. We went with the other approach and drafted Elam and he doesn’t see the field

Because they know they are going to suck this year might as well just take the loss this year instead of splitting it into next year once Murray is back

Bills can free up 7 million by extending Daquan jones and cutting siran Neal. That is more than enough to sign Hopkins with a 1st year cap hit. with shorter on the team now who can play special teams and the league de-emphasizing special teams no reason to keep Neal when you already have other special teams only guys

I used vivid seats last year for the bills home opener and didn’t have any issues. I also purchased giants vs bills tickets last night on vivid. 300 level got them for $201 a ticket after fees.

If everyone stays healthy through camp I think you nailed it. I think Spector, Morris, and Doyle are next in line to make the team

Nice work! I agree with most but I think a couple guys you have as locks could be surprise cuts. I would put the following players in competing for a job due to what the cap saving would be and just overall performance: Settle Spector Neal Doyle I also think Murray and Lawson are pretty close to locks and Klien is probably closer to a lock than cut. I see Klien making it and Dodson and Spector battling for that last LB spot

I can’t really understand why so many here are questioning this and don’t think he will make the roster. The bills have always carried 4 rbs and rb on the roster I don’t see why this year would be any different. I know Jones only played special teams but now you have a special team guy in Hines who can also play on offense. I think it’s much more likely we carry Murray on the roster than a 7th wr or even Quentin Morris as a 3rd TE

Kincaid, Knox, shorter all 6’ 4 Davis 6’ 2 Plenty of speed as well with cook, Hines Harty and sherfield oh and one of the best wr in nfl with diggs no matter what d we play we will have the players to counter it

Probably not a popular opinion on this board but remind me of kelvin Benjamin. I know he sucked here but he produced his first few years in carolina

- Bills don’t take a OL on day 1 or 2 - Bills draft at least 2 players on D with their first 4 picks

honestly I’m not as down on the line as most are. I think we upgraded at guard over saffold. Morse and Dawkins are good. Bates is average but it was also his first year as a starter and I am expecting brown to be better actually having an offseason this year. Allen is part of the reason they don’t always look great as well. He holds the ball to make the big play too often rather than checking it down. If he checked down more the line would look better. I actually would be surprised if the bills draft a lineman in the first 3 rounds. Their starters are set (Beane isn’t benching brown this year). They already have young guys with upside in Doyle and Brown. Proven starter with edwards and Quesenberry as backups and a guy they obviously like in Boettger.

I would do a second for Hopkins in a heartbeat. Take the TE Washington in the first Allen Diggs, Hopkins, Davis, Shakir, Harty, Sherfield Knox and washington cook, Harris, Hines that would likely be the best offense in the league

I considered taking that approach however the injuries last year were so significant that a lot of guys went out for large chunks of the season. It’s actually pretty amazing how many wins we actually got with the injuries All of these player missed at least 3 out of 16 regular season games last year White Elam Benford Poyer Hyde Edmunds Groot Miller Phillips Oliver Kumerow crowder Morse Doyle Boettger

I get the finish to last year was disappointing and we had a terrible showing against the bengals however we have beaten the chiefs 2 out of the last 3 and if it wasn’t for 13 seconds in would be 3 straight. Also looking at KC free agent moves it appears they have actually regressed. The have significant downgrades at OT and WR at this point and no positions where they have made a clear upgrade. The bengals have had a significant downgrade at safety and depth however they did get a significant upgrade on the oline. The bengals are going to be extremely tough again this year but the dynamics will change quickly once they have to pay Higgins chase and burrow this year

In my initial assessment I tried to be reserved in my outlooks but I agree corner could be significantly better this year. I also said “Same” for running back but it is a position that could be significantly better as well.

I just want to say up front sorry for the long post. We are 1 week out from the draft and I thought it would be a good idea to take a look position by position to see where the bills were from a roster standpoint compared to the majority of last year compared to the current roster. Saftey- Much Better For the majority of 2022 the roster was an injured poyer, Hamlin getting is first starting experience, Johnson who was a major disappointment, and Lewis/marlowe. In 2023 we are looking at a healthy Poyer and Hyde as well as Rapp (who is starting caliber) and Hamlin who now has experimence playing meaningful minutes Corner- Same/Slightly Better I went back and forth between same and better for this position. The players are for the most part the same but I expect this group to be better this year. White will be 1 1/2 removed from injury and have an offseason to get back into the grove and playing shape, Elam and benford are going into year 2 and showed promise in year 1, and we also have Jackson and Johnson back. Linebacker- Significant downgrade 2022 we had Edmunds and Milano along with Dodson, Bernard, Spector and matekovich. This year we return everyone but Edmunds and have Klien prior to the season but even if one or 2 of them exceed expectations it like will still be a significant downgrade from Edmunds DT- Same This is the same group as 202. Oliver, Phillips, Jones, Settle. All 4 guys dealt with injuries last season and you hope they came be better if healthy but at this point you can’t say they got better or worse than last year DE- Same Just like DT we are returning the same group. Miller, Groot, Epenesa, Basham, Lawson. I went with same here as well even though Miller missed several games last season there is no gurantee he is healthy to start the season. Epenesa has his best year last year but I think he has hit his ceiling QB- Same Hopefully Allen is healthy and we swapped kyle Allen for Kenuem. Kenuem may be better than Kyle Allen but ultimately if Josh is hurt the season is over anyway RB- Same 2022 we had Singletary, cook, Moss, Jones, Gilliam. In 2023 we lose Jones who offered nothing at the position and singletary who is a significant loss but we get cook in year 2 who showed progress throughout the year, Hines will have an offseason to be incorporated into the offense, and Harris who I think is an equal player to singletary but is a better fit as he offers something the team was missing TE- Same As of right now this position looks the same as last year but I expect to add someone in the draft WR- Slightly Better For the majority of 2022 we played with Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Shakir and guys we were grabbing off the street. 2023 we have diggs who is great and Davis who is who he is. Shakir is going into year 2 and looked good when he got opportunities. I think Sheffield and Harty ar Euphrates to McKenzie and we have much more depth than last year OT- Same Dawkins, Brown, Doyle, Quessenberry. 2023 players look similair to 2022. Although I’m not willing to say this position group is better there is potential. Brown missed all last offseason with a back injury and should be able to participate this year. Doyle was injured all year and Quesenberry also battled multiple injuries. It’s also year 2 in Kromers system IOL- Better 2022 was primarily saffold, Morse, bates with Van Rotten as the primary backup. Saffold was terrible replacing him with McGovern is a big upgrade. Bates will also be going into year 2 of starting and we are going into year 2 with Kromer. Edwards and Boettger as back up IOL is much better depth than last year. Overall besides linebacker this team has already either stayed the same or improved across the board. We will add several players on the draft and FA that will continue to improve each position. There has been a lot of doom and gloom on this board since the season ended but the future looks good!

Bills won’t draft an olineman on Day 1 or 2 of the draft and they may not draft any they will roster 9 and I think they are perfectly fine going into the season with Dawkins, McGovern, Morse, bates, brown, edwards, Doyle, Quesenberry, and Ike

I was just looking at their numbers from last year as you posted this. Their top 3 receivers (MVS, Toney, Moore) has a combined 78 catches for 1108 yards and 4 tds last year. They also lost both starting tackles and at this point I don’t believe they have brought McKinnon back who accounted for 803 yards and 11 tds. Yes they have Kelce but anyone who says their weapon are currently better than the bills has not been paying attention
