  1. I think your logic here is pretty good. I think Solomon and Carter are the toughest to predict. The one I disagree in is hardy. I think he is the primary punter returner this year and a depth slot corner. In 2-3 years I could see him taking over the starting role from Johnson as he hits his 30s
  2. I thought it would be interesting to find out to see how everyone would rank who from this draft class will have the best Buffalo bills career. My list is below 1 being the best and 10 the worst. 1. Bishop 2. Van Pran Granger 3. Coleman 4. Davis 5. Hardy 6. Carter 7. Solomon 8. Ulofoshio 9. Grable 10. Clayton
  3. I think most of the roster is pretty much set but there will certainly be some interesting battles in camp at a few positions: Saftey- Lewis vs Hamlin LB- Jones vs Spector vs Ulofoshio for 2 spots DE- Toohill vs Jonathan Rb- Johnson’s vs Frank Gore Jr OT- Collins vs Gramble vs Doyle vs Vandermark for 2 spots IOL- Anderson vs Clapp WR- Hamler vs Shorter vs Isabella vs Shavers vs Cepheus for 2 spots
  4. I like Ty Johnson as I said in my original post and I fully expect him to be RB3 however as you pointed out he only had 37 touches in 10 games. He was also on our practice squad for the first half of the season. I just don’t consider him a lock.
  5. I don’t know why everyone assumes Johnson is a lock. I think he is going to be in a competion with frank gore jr for the last running back spot. He likely makes it as the 3rd rb but he has always been a journeyman RB and although I liked what he did at the end of last season people act like he accomplished way more than he actually did. his stats: 132 rushing yards, 0 TDs, 1 fumble 72 receiving yards 1 td
  6. I’m just not seeing how everyone thinks this team is way worse than last year. In my eyes it has the potential to be better. QB- same but better depth RB- I would argue better. Murray ran out of gas last year. You add a rookie with plenty of production and have johnson looked good when he got involved at end of last season. TE- Same to better. Kincaid year 2 and Knox healthy. OL- Likely slightly worse. I don’t expect too much of a drop off. Morse is a loss but Torrance will be year 2 and brown coming off his best season. Depth should be much better. WR- Worse, there is no debating losing diggs doesn’t make us worse. Worse. We don’t have that true number 1 proven guy but shakir keeps improving and Coleman, Samuel, Hollins is way way better than Davis, Sherfield and harty. DL- Better. Yes we lost Floyd but you have Von a year removed from injury. Tohill is an upgrade to Shaq and we have a rookie coming in who had 16 sacks last year. I think it’s safe to assume he will be an upgrade over Jonathan who did nothing. At DT jones is back after missing most of last year. The 2 DT free agent signing and the rookie should be a big improvement over settle, phillips, and ford who were not good last year. LB- Better. Milano is back, Bernard year 2. Young, athletic depth. CB- I am going with same here. White has been MIA for over 2 years. We get Benford and Johnson back and we now have Douglass for a full year. Yea we lost Dane Jackson but I think getting Douglass for the offseason cancels that out. Will be nice to see Elam get more playtime he showed playmaking flashes when he was out there. S- slightly worse. Losing poyer and Hyde is tough to replace. They were aging so their impact last season wasn’t what is once was but it’s still going to hurt. I really like Bishop but I just don’t think anyone can say we would be the same or better without those guys this year
  7. This is the siran Neal replacement with way more speed and return ability
  8. This board: Shorter sucks (pick 15 in round 5) also this board We must take a wr at the end of round 6 or the draft is a bust! It’s comical
  9. For everyone still going on about wr. Anyone who gets drafted now would be competing with shorter. He was the 15th pick in the 5th round but no one mentions him. the bills need another wr but they should be looking for a vet after 6/1 like chark, obj, Gallup to fill out the roster if they can’t swing a trade
  10. how is rb not a need? We have James cook and Ty Johnson who is a journeyman type player. If cook went down you had Ty Johnson and literally nothing else
  11. Just curious what makes a wr a number 3 in your mind vs a number 1 or 2? Is it stats, size, speed? I keep seeing people say we have a bunch of number 3 wr and I’m generally curious how they are classifying them. I know Kincaid is a TE but he will likely have 85-90 catches for 1000 yards if he was a wr would you consider him a number 1?
  12. Personally I think the bills are still fine but they do need to double dip at WR. The one name that is never brought up on this board but maybe should be more often is Justin Shorter. I personally don’t have much faith that he will be good but Beane and the coaching staff have been around him for a full year now. He wasn’t some undrafted free agent or 7th round pick. He was taken with the 15th pick in the 5th round. He is 6’ 4 and 229 lbs and runs a 4.55. like I said I personally am not expecting much but maybe the bulls have seen enough in practice that they potentially see him as a guy that will get playtime this year. They did invest a decent asset in him
  13. Not a trade but DJ Chark makes sense. 6-3 200lbs runs a 4.34. Give your the size speed guy then draft a player early as well. But gives you flexibility in the draft in the type of WR to draft
  14. My prediction: Curtis samuel shakir draft pick (McConkey/Franklin) OBJ Hollins Shorter/late Rd pick/Hamler/isabella
  15. As far as the draft goes Elam was a major miss but overall I would consider that draft a success getting Cook, Bernard, and Benford, and Shakir. As for the diggs extension he was producing at a high level and they paid him a market rate. If they would have an he would have walked or moved on then people would be upset they didn’t keep him. Yea it didn’t work out but overall at the time it seemed like a reasonable deal. Von produced when he came in and looked exactly like the player we wanted. He got hurt that’s not in Beane’s control. Jones was a very good signing and crowder was worth a swing at that price. Bates was also a fine signing you paid him about 4 million a year to compete as a starter and be a top back up plus got a 5th round pick for him. If you didn’t sign him you were getting nothing for him. Beane has some hits and misses every year like any GM as others have mentioned. Anyone who thinks ever other gm hits on all their draft picks and free agents doesn’t follow other teams at all. If anything I get Beane’s draft production is better than most in the NFL.
  16. Not saying these guys are 1 to 1 replacements but I think they can replace the production those guys offered. I truly think Brady wants to get away from that 1a type receiver that we force the ball to and gets 160 targets. I could very well see the hall spread all over with maybe no one getting 1000 yards but 3-4 guys all getting around 50-70 catches for 900 yards. I think people are getting caught up to much on what positioning these guys play (inside/outside) Samuel, Kincaid, and Shakir can line up anywhere. Cook can split out wide and Knox is pretty versatile too. For red zone your have Knox, Kincaid and Hollins who are all big targets. I think what got us into trouble in the first half of last year was trying to force it to diggs. In the second half when diggs really didn’t look like a number 1 and they were spreading the ball around diggs, Kincaid, and Shakir all had similar numbers
  17. Diggs is great no doubt but just looking at this Samuel should be able to put up Davis numbers pretty easily. I think kincaid could end up being close to Diggs numbers last year (maybe 90 catches for 1000). Shakir should be able to replicate Kincaid numbers from last year so you need a rookie to replace shakir’s 39 catches and 600 yards. Not really all that crazy.
  18. I am not predicting shakir will become a number 1 but once Brady took over he had more production than diggs on less targets. Both are 5th round picks with very similair combine numbers. I could very easily see shakir getting 70-80 catches for 1000-1100 yards with more targets. Samuel will see a fair share of targets and I expect he will be more productive than Davis was Kincaid will also see more targets and I think Knox will be utilized more this year now that he is healthy. The bills offense struggled when we tried to force the ball to diggs. I think they will be much more productive spreading it around and having 4-5 wr in the 50-70 catch range for 700-1000 than 1 guy getting the bill of the targets
  19. It’s super annoying to have to subscribe to a bunch of different services but at the same time it’s $6. You can watch the game then cancel and you still have access for the next 30 days to watch movies and shows. Once again it’s $6 for 4 hours of entertainment. You can’t do anything for $6, going to a move cost 3x that, going to grab fast food costs 2x that, going out to a bar cost a minimum that. For years people said let me just buy the games I want to watch and not pay for the nfl ticket. Well here you go this is that
  20. Ankou will be 30 in June so he is also not young. I like the move. DT generally take some time to develop. Draft 1 if he beats this guy out for the 4th spot awesome Williams can be the 5th DT if he doesn’t at least you got a guy with starting experience. Ankou can go on the practice squad again and be available if there are injuries
  21. I think they will use a 4th or 5th on a corner and then also grab a guy in the summer before camp opens in FA. There will be guys cut after the draft and we have tre’s money opening up after 6/1. I don’t believe Levi Wallace has signed anywhere yet he could be their fallback option. I do think they want to give Elam a shot at corner this year as the number 3. He has shown some flashes when he has gotten in and eventually they need to let him play some. I am not a big Hamlin fan but he did start the majority of games prior to last season. I think they intentionally had him inactive most of last season due to numbers but also to ease him back in mentally. As a 4th or 5th saftey he is fine. I would expect a guy in the middle rounds at saftey as well. Tykee smith makes a lot of sense. Played under Addae at WVU and Georgia. Has experience in both SEC and Big 12 and has played in 2 different schemes. He is slightly under sized but fairly athletic with a 4.46 40.
  22. Last round to UDFA guy that I think would really fit with this D and can play special teams in CB Beanie Bishop JR (WVU). Projects as a slot corner in NFL
  23. If Thomas JR or Mitchell aren’t there at 28 I would trade back into the early 2nd and hopefully pick up a 3rd round pick. Draft Leggette or Franklin with that pick then grab DLine and safeties with next few picks
  24. Not really, according to that post the Chiefs have 9 starters called out drafted since 2021. The bills have 8 and had way fewer high picks than the chiefs due to the Hill trade kincaid (2023 1st) Torrence (2023 2nd) cook (2022 2nd) Bernard (2022 3rd) shakir (2022 5th) benford (2022 6th) Rousseau (2021 1st) Brown (2021 3rd) Besides getting jumped for Mcduffie and having to settle for Elam our drafting is nearly identical
  25. I do think we are more likely to carry 6 WR this year compared to t he past few years or only carrying 5. With matakevich and Neal gone if the WR 5 and 6 can contribute on offense and special teams k think they will go that direction
