I am not surprised. If McDermott was here he most likely signed him to a huge contract, and taken him on a lunch date to chat and reflect upon draft day, 2017.

Better coaching no doubt!!! There were other factors:
1) They ran on us for 170 yards. Wright was a good player but way too small to play nose.
2) The Giants had the ball for 40:33. Thurman was kicking ass and we kept passing.
As you say, coaching played a huge part in #2. Parcels and Belichick were 100x better than Levy and his crew.

I agree. I liken him to Flutie with a better arm. I know that players have got bigger since Flutie. I also know that Pavia seems like a bit of a jerk but truthfully, so did Flutie to a point.

McDermott had a huge say in player personnel.
McDermott ran the show in 2017 and hired Beane in 2018. Raise your hand if you ever knew anybody who hired their boss.
Before Beane was even in Buffalo, McDermott traded the Mahomes pick to KC and drafted a cornerback, this on a team indesperate need of a QB. KC of course won Super Bowls with Mahomes. McDermott's answer at the QB position? You guessed it.....Nate Peterman. Given McDermott's propensity for first round cornerbacks, the Bills failed to provide Josh with enough weapons at wide receiver.
The bolded above is 100% true, and I make the case that he had more authority than Beane. I try, but I cannot understand why folks choose to absolve McDermott of resonnsibility and blame Beane.

That is a very interesting question, yet an easy one.
I wish I would have been better at enjoying the moments. For four years I worked on what the FBI called the worst block in the USA, so I was under quite a bit of stress. It was fun at times mind you, but it was all consuming. I had to work tons of overtime to pay for a house and support three daughters and didn't get enough time to spend with my babies. Even after I transfered it was a high stress situation. Now, I'm a grandfather. All three of my girls are very successful. I see them at least three times per week and I cherish every second. I'm even getting emotional typing this.
My advice to young fathers is this: This is your life. Some day your children will have families of their own. Enjoy every moment of them being young. Everything, even doctor visits are times that you can't get back. Stay away from other women (if you are married) no matter how hot they are because ultimately, your children are what matter most.
I may come off as a little grumpy (about the Bills drafting defensive backs), but I am extremely happy. However, I pine for the days when my beautiful babies would help me with my garden. Little things like that.
OK, end of unsolicited lecture.

No other pro teams to any large extent. My teams are the Buffalo Bills and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, both for many decades.
I must say that the joy of being an Alabama fan did offset much of the agony of some of our painful Bills losses.

Brandon probably hired Marrone because he was his syracuse butt buddy. They were quite the losing pair.
He coached at Alabama for one season as the offensive line coach. Of course I have absolutely no way to verify this but from what I heard, Saban was not at all pleased with him.

Burton not only gets open, he could find his way into the end zone at Alabama. His behavior was his problem. He slapped a female Tennessee Fan who rushed the field after a game, and people who I am in contact with that live down there said that he has issues.
If he did find Jesus, the Bills have themselves a good receiver. Do I expect this to happen? The odds don't seem to be great but you never know.

I saw every college game of his. The kid finds a way to get open and has good hands. That said, he has had issues that started before he even got to Alabama. If the Bills coaches have problems with him they can and should just throw him off the team. It's as simple as that.

As for Igbinosun the player, I don't know if he has the hip fluidity to ever be more than just a role player. I am biased in favor of size and physicality so that aspect of his game makes it easier for me to swallow. I recognize the Elam comparisons but Igbinosun is slightly taller with significantly longer arms (91st percentile vs 30th percentile) so I think the athletic profile fits the projected role better than Elam did. I'll trust that Leonhard has a plan in mind for the skill set.
I do admire your optimism. Seriously. As Bills Fans we have been well trained to look for silver linings wrt the draft. I didn't flip out this time as I have done time and again. There is nothing I can do about it and it doesn't help my blood pressure LOL.
I don't like this draft but maybe I am wrong. It certainly won't be the first time. All we can do is cheer for the Bills and hope for the best.
