  1. Well, there's a brand-new place I've found
Where people go from miles around
    They come from everywhere
And if you drop in there
You might see anyone in town

    Going to a go-go, everybody's
Going to a go-go, well, come on now
Don't you want to go, yeah

  2. Hurts has spent his entire college and NFL careers on teams that ranged from very good to great. When he was Alabama he was the 2nd best passer on the team, and some Crimson Tide Fans make the case that he was 3rd best. Whatever. He was always a very good, strong runner who made great decisions wrt when to take off and run, and a good passer. I never saw Hurts panic. He is completely calm, smart, and focused, and btw unusually strong.

If you put Hurts on the Patriots, Jets, Giants, etc. I don't think that he would fare very well. The Eagles have a defense that gets them turnovers and good field position. Their offensive line is great, as is Barkley. I would kill to have Davonta Smith on the Bills and he is their #2 receiver. In other words, he has everything he could possibly need on the Eagles and in this scenario he  is everything they need at QB and more. Is he Josh Allen or Mahomes? No, but who is?

This thread asks if he was the Super Bowl MVP. Damn right he was! He ran for 72 yards and a touchdown, and threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, as well as picking up clutch first downs. The Chiefs took Barkley out of the game and it was up to Hurts to come through which he did, clearly imo, so yes; he deserved to be MVP over any other single player.

    Jmo.

Does McDermott tell Beane what he needs for his schemes? Yeah, and that almost certainly does affect Beane's thinking on who to draft. But there just isn't a question on whether Beane has autonomy.

Do you not see how the above sentences contradict? If McDermott tells him what position he wants Beane to draft and Beane does as McDermott wishes, how is this having autonomy?

For example, if Beane wants a defensive tackle and McDermott wants a corner, are you making the case that Beane will win out every time? The relationship cannot completely be equal imo. I think that one of the HAS to have more power than the other.

Also, do you think that Beane can fire McDermott? I for one strongly doubt it.

In any event, I find this to be an interesting topic.

Beane has spent plenty of resources on DL-Rousseau, Oliver 1st round picks.  AJ 2nd round pick. $140 million Von.  High draft picks Boogie, Harrison.  FA signing Williams, Star, etc  Very little return on investment.

The problem is not that we ignore the DL.  The problem is missing again and again.

Ive always been a big Beane fan.  But his failures on DL, with our 1st round picks, and ignoring WR, my patience is wearing thin.

Do you excuse McDermott? I find it impossible to believe that Beane has autonomy, or even the deciding vote on who to draft and when.

Many seem to forget that when the Bills traded the Mahomes pick to KC and drafted Tre White, Beane wasn't even with the team. It would even appear that McDermott brought him in.

I suppose that Beane is easier to scapegoat.

  5. If it were not for the boxes, I wouldn't have cared much at all about the game. If the Chiefs went for one instead of two on their last TD, I would have made a large amount of money.

The boxes make the Super Bowl fun imo. Not the trite commercials nor the horrid halftime shows.

  6. Ran into a rainstorm
    Ducked into a bar door
It was all night pouring, pouring rain
But not a drop on me

    Test me, test me
    Why don't you arrest me?
Throw me in the jail house
    Until the sun goes down
    Till it go down

    I had to move
    Really had to move
    That's why if you please
I am on my bended knees
Bertha don't you come around here anymore

He is indeed, and it shows in his stats - not just total catches and yards, but Y per touch, Y per game.

But he is still Mahomes most trusted outlet and "guy" when he needs a 1st down, and he's almost as bad as Gronkowski was for pushing off and getting away with it to lose coverage when he changes direction.

So even though he's gonna be 36 and he's definitely slower, he would still be a loss the Chiefs may not have replaced - remains to be seen whether Noah Grey can take a step and fill Kelce's shoes rather than catching passes when the attention goes to Kelce.

    I don't disagree.

The thing is, Father Time always wins in the end. Next season he won't be any faster, and injuries will not heal sooner. I don't know what his salary is but if he is not involved with Taylor Swift when next season starts, it might not even be a good investment for the Chiefs to keep him on the roster. If he is, different story.

Btw I'm not making any definitive predictions here, just throwing thoughts around.

  8. I have watched Jalen Hurts since his first play of his first game at Alabama. He is a good, at times VERY good quarterback. When you put him behind a great OL and give him terrific receivers, he is a winner.

The Eagles won this game primarily due to the excellence of both the OL and the DL. The OL gave Hurts the time to find his deep and excellent receiving corps and utilize his running skills. When DeVonta Smith is your #2 receiver, you have one sick roster. On one of the tush push plays, Landon Dickerson was three yards in front of the first down marker. They made it look easy. Their DL was fast and also VERY strong.

If Josh Allen played on the Eagles it would be all but impossible for them to lose a game to any team under any circumstances because Josh Allen is GREAT. The Bills need to model their team after that of the Eagles. The NFL Champion Chiefs couldn't do a damn thing against the Eagles OL and DL except get pushed around and knocked on their a$$es.

The Bills should go into this draft and free agency thinking about what they watched on tv yesterday. Their priorities need to be adding strength and speed to the DL, depth to the OL, and of course fast receivers. This is how the Eagles won with Jalen Hurts at QB. I hope that McDermott is able to see the obvious and resist wasting a first round pick on a defensive back.

    End of rant.

Good guy.  Dry interview, boy your eyes could gloss over after about 45 seconds of the Skeleton Coach's response.   Posters made jokes about Dead Man Walking on the sideline, and we had a Poster with the Skeletor as a username at the old message board.

He could cobble together some mediocre players to play a great defensive game and usually keep games competitive.  But that was deep drought era.

Rest peacefully and god bless his family.

John McCargo, not Josh and Ko was a safety.  Terrible draft, the entire country gasped when Whitner was taken 8th, Ngata and even Cutler were on the Board.  Moved up for McCargo who was the 3rd or 4th lineman taken from NC in the first round, and NC had won about 5 games that year.  Dumb

Thanks, my mistake. I will edit it.

He wasn't a great fit, but there wasn't a good fit, not with that deeply flawed front office.

    The roster was bad.

Those were the years when Trent Edwards looked good for a brief shining instant. The Derrick Dockery period. The era they fought and fought over the decision about whether to pay Jason Peters the amount the Ravens gave him three hours after they acquired him. The times they went Donte Whitner over Ngata. The days when they moved Langston Walker to LDE. The days when they felt they needed a tall receiver so they picked James Hardy at #41 while DeSean Jackson went at #49 and Calais Campbell at #50.

A bad bad time, and I don't think any really good coach would have been successful, or interested in joining for that matter.

Levy's 2006 draft destroyed any chance of the Bills being a strong team. That draft was loaded with good players (seemingly unlike 2025). Levy had 5 picks in the first three rounds, to include the #8 in round one. He wound up with these 4 players:

    Donte Whitner (DB)

    John McCargo (DT)

    Ashton Youboty (DB)

    Ko Simpson (DB)

This horrendous draft set back the Bills for 5 years or so and I posted at the time just how screwed we were. Jauron was far from my favorite coach but he was given little to no chance to win, given Levy's drafts and Mr Wilson's "cash to cap" (for those who remember).

  11. I think that this will be the most interesting Super Bowl ever, because:

    1) Kelce has lost a step and we don't know how much longer he will play.

    2) The NFL has already made a ton of Taylor Swift money. Goodell had to address accusations of the NFL being rigged, and these accusations are NOT from just Bills Fans by any means. Fans across the nation (if not the world) see what they suspect is happening.

    3) The NFL could lose a huge amount of mony if fans lose interest in a sport with about as much integrity as the WWE. As @LA Bills Fansays above, money will always dictate their decisions.

Because of the above, I think that the NFL will let the Eagles win in order to save face. We might even get several screen shots of Taylor Swift crying to make this a memorable, emotional occasion to her young fans. Yes, I think that much of the game will be scripted. As one poster said above, the NFL is about them making money.

I know that to many this will sound like a crazy conspiracy theory and perhaps it is. Either way it is merely jmo.

I did? Was I wrong to assumed they were small bets since you said you’re a ‘small bettor’?

If you made substantial gains off your belief that it’s rigged for KC then congrats. It’s hard to imagine how substantial out of the ‘10-15 bets per year’ that you made. Especially when most were on college games. Again, this is from the information you provided. That’s all I’m going off of. You also haven’t definitively answered if you made the profits by betting on KC because of your rigged belief. So I’m not sure where you stand with that.

Appreciate you saying I seem bright. But believe me, I not very bright at all. Haha

Anyway, I was just curious why you’re so adamant about it being rigged. Especially since you do bet sports. I don’t think the house would appreciate the league rigging it for KC so someone like you could collect profits from it. Now imagine millions of people like you. Vegas would be bankrupted.

I understand your point, but I'm not exclusively talking about KC covering. I'm saying that the league wanted them in the Super Bowl. Now they are in it and the league will get the extra Taylor Swift fans viewing the game (and the advertisements), so it might not matter as much who wins.

Perhaps I am too cynical. I don't claim to know exactly what is happening. What I do know is that fans across the country (not just Bills Fans) are very suspicious. I'm just posting an opinion.

So you’re saying you made small bets on KC for a profit? Because that’s what the question was. It wasn’t a question about your gambling acumen. You seem to believe a rigged system for KC. Which begs the question why ‘small bets’? If it’s really rigged for them and you have profited from that belief, shouldn’t the bets be big and profits substantial?

And yes. I did do well this season but it wasn’t because of any rigged systems. Thank you for asking. I know if I am certain of any sporting event outcome because it’s ‘rigged’ I wouldn’t be making small bets.

Why are you putting words in my mouth. I'm surprised because you seem really bright. 🤔

Anybody that thinks their is a league wide conspiracy among all the refs to help rig the Super Bowl for the Chiefs to be in it don't have two functioning brain cells.  Dumb is the polite way I can put it.

Who is talking about a league wide conspiracy among all refs? Talk about brain cells! Refs are pawns in a multi-billion dollar conglomerate that is the NFL. They do not make any extra money for having Taylor Swift at the games.

If you think that everything is on the up and up and all of these calls going against us and for the Chiefs are a mere coincidence, more power to ya! It does seem as if milions of fans don't agree, but unlike you; I am not going to resort to name calling or insults. This no matter how short sighted or limited your thinking would appear to be,

I think the NFL is pry going to go overboard now in using the technology and making obvious penalties/non penalties reviewable.  Their biggest fear is that enough dumb people will think the game is rigged because of gambling and they'll stop watching.  Kind of the perfect storm of the Chief fatigue, bad officiating that went the Chiefs way, and the whole Taylor Swift story line.

First of all, I think that calling people "dumb" because they have an opinion about this one topic is a bit much.

Second, those of us who can think outside the box can come up with other possibilities, such as the marketing value of Taylor Swift and how she alone will increase viewership and advertising revenues, but that's ok. I won't label you as "dumb" because you fail to see this as being possible.

Why "forced"?  They're going to give the Eagles preferential treatment.  And just as bad as the Chiefs normally get.  Why?  Kills the claims.  And it's safe now.  What difference would it make to the league?  They got the Swifties and all that to the big game.  They got their three-peat drama.  None of that matters after the Super Bowl.  The league gets what it wants regardless of who wins.  And if KC loses, they have the three-peat drama to replay down the line.

This was the point I was getting at.

As far as the word "forced," I don't think that the league wants to lose its crediility, and needs to get some back. It isn't only Bills Fans that think our game was rigged. People are saying it everywhere, to the point where Goodell had to tell the press that claims of a fix are ridiculous.

Most people have short memories. A Chiefs loss and folks will tell themselves that all is well.

I fully agree. Now it's about Taylor Swift and Kelce. It's like a Hallmark movie but it cannot go on forever imo. Fans across the world have noticed what is happening, thus the Goodell press conference.

I think that they might be forced to let the Eagles win this time.

We keep talking about DL, and yes we need an upgrade, but maybe we focus on the secondary instead?

We have one of the top nickle corners in the NFL, so why not load up on top DB talent and go that route?

Emphasize a big 1. Tech DT who can penetrate so he and Oliver can provide pressure up the middle, while we lock down other teams WR's?

I say let McDermott make the decisions on what DB'S he wants, not Beane as he is a DB whisperer.

Before you ping me negatively, think about it and cut me some slack...I have the freaking flu. Apparently Oklahoma is leading the nation in Flu cases right now. 😒

I am a big Kupp fan having lived in LA for all his career.  Always liked his game.

But...I will tell you the downside...everything is about fit.  Does he bring the elements this group needs right now at this stage of his career?  The answer is no, because he is redundancy on this roster with both Shakir and Samuel here.

This roster needs a down field outside threat, we have tons of options over the middle in the short to mid range attack that Kupp eats at right now.

Would I be upset if we get Kupp...of course not.  But do I think he changes much for this offense this next season...probably not a whole lot.  This offense was the 16th best offense in NFL history and greatest in Bills history.  If anyone really expects to improve upon that, then we need to add someone that adds a dimension this offense is missing, and Kupp doesn't bring much of that at this stage of his career.

I think he can still be a very good player for someone, but I don't think he changes a whole lot for the Bills offense based on the makeup of our roster right now.

You raise good points. My question is: Do you think that we have a better receiver on our current roster?
