Yes but I think that both of us will agree with the fact that Josh Allen makes these players look better than they would be playing with lesser quarterbacks.

First, despite a few bro's with their typical mouth breathing comments I appreciate the compassion and empathy of many who have posted.
In the 1980's my first job out of college was working in a residential treatment center for youth, before I ended up going into teaching and school administration.
One of the boys in the facility was 12, great kid to work with, but was extremely guarded. He had an issue with soiling his underwear constantly and thus had to be monitored by male and female because it was so prevalent. Can you imagine at that age how shameful and embarrassing this would be? The kids lived in cottages so all the other boys ended up knowing this was happening. He handled it, like it wasn't really happening to him.
Of course soiling can be be a sign of sexual abuse, but despite efforts by social workers and counselors on staff, while he was in placement he never so much as opened the door even ever so slightly that any abuse had happened. Well that was the 1980's, he left to return home to the Southern Tier in a small town after a few years. The facility didn't keep in contact with the kids once they left, so their was no update on his progress
Well, a few years ago I got a friend request on Facebook from him and he casually updated me on his life. It was good to hear from him and I was pleased that he said he was happily married, has 2 kids and was working a decent job.
The messages took a turn when he broke away from his family, was distraught and was aimlessly heading out West in his truck.
He ended up sharing what had happened to him when he was a boy at the hands of one of his mother's boyfriends. He shared this by message as I think it was easier for him.
He was raped repeatedly for many years by this monster. He was bound, tortured cruelly and humiliated.
He had buried this trauma for so many years, like so many do and releasing it let loose with a volcano of emotions that caused him to run from the decent life he was built, because he felt so ashamed, like he was damaged goods. He didn't know whether he wanted to live or die.
One thing he shared is that his mother's boyfriend often would force him to give him oral sex and would ***** in his mouth. This often caused him to gag. The man would tell him to go clean up and brush his teeth some of the time. He did.
Unfortunately, this association between the forced oral sex and brushing his teeth gave him a gag reflex. Thus, this boy and eventually man would gag every morning when he brushed his teeth and of course the memories would end up coming to him of the cruelty he experienced. This has been going on every morning for over 30 years
What is the price of the humiliation this boy faced? Would he be considered a gold digger if he brought a lawsuit against this man?
The shame and absolute hatred for himself has kept him from seeking justice and holding this man accountable.
Well, after communicating with me over a few months as he broke from his world, he ended up blocking me on Facebook. I think sharing was overwhelming for him.
I have no idea what has become of him.
I wish we could have been able to break through and help him when he was a boy, it's heartbreaking when many wanted to help, but his mind and body buried the trauma and pain just so he could try to survive in this world.
It's been around 35 years since he was raped and sexually tortured, if he is able and wants to seek some form of justice, is he justified.
I hope he finds peace in whatever route he chooses.
What a sad, horrific story. Sadly, I have seen people who had similar experiences. I hope that somehow the person that you speak of will be OK.

The above is really not a given. We all know every team has multiple injuries every season. If the Bills see an OT that they have a really high rating on it wouldn't be a mistake to draft him imo. Dion Dawkins is playing very well, but he will be 31 in April. This isn't old but again, injuries do occur and imo; the most important things that the Bills can do are to protect Josh Allen and provide him with weapons. Using our best draft picks on the secondary is Jauron style "playing not to lose."
Of course, this is jmo.

For the sake of this post, I am going to assume that his two accusers might be Columbia graduates. If so, the possibility exists that they might be worth more than 5 million dollars each. A college degree was much more of a ticket to success 30 years ago than it is today. An Ivy League degree was gold.
I don't know the facts of the case and refuse to speculate innocence or guilt. What I will say is that some great athletes are accustomed to getting their way. It has now come full circle with college players being given Lamborghinis to play on a football team, but; this mentality didn't just start.
I don't know if Wiley is guilty. None of us do but I refuse to cast and aspersions on these women for coming forward. I hope that the truth prevails.

This is SO true. I suspect that many young fans don't realize that defensive backs were the most violent defenders. After them I would say linebackers were next and the least dangerous defenders would be the linemen.
The Oakland Raiders secondary consisted of blood thirsty, dangerous men. I remenber seeing receivers over the middle getting speared in the back, often on incomplete, overthrown passes. Receivers over the middle would leap for a ball and get wiped out. Many dbs bordered on criminal behavior imo. Today it does appear to be pass interference on a huge portion of plays.
Looking back, it is clear that the violence was excessive and players did pay the price with serious health issues. It really had to change. That said, why do you think that they now allow so much contact in the secondary?

Despite being criticized last year for "thinking that I am a scout" lol, i do plan to do my usual post on Alabama draft eligible players.
Sneak Preview: Safety Malachi Moore is a VERY good player. If he was more durable I would classify him as great. The good news is that he hits like a linebacker. The bad news is that he hits like a linebacker and isn't really big or durable enough to do so. This kid is great in coverage and the run and he is very smart. If he goes in round two or three and stays healthy, he will be a star and make a team very happy.
Just my non-scout opinion.

Sadly you are not wrong, although I am better than I used to be because I am used to it. In 2022 I was in Vegas for the draft (by mistake mind you). I made the reservations way in advance. We were in a lounge at New York, New York waiting for a table at Gallaghers and watching the draft. I told my wife they would draft a corner, but I didn't even think that they would trade up for one. She said, "I'm so sorry Honey." I was not about to lose it in front of her, and it was the best steak of my entire life.
Now, no move that McDermott makes will surprise me. I give him a 90% chance of drafting a first round corner. If not, probably a safety.

It is easy to blame the Elam trade up and selection on Beane, but who was a defensive coach for many years, McDermott or Beane? Who knows the complexities of playing cornerback, McDermott or Beane?
I am far less critical of McDermott as a coach than I once was. I do not blame him for having lost the Taylor Swift playoff game. It was stolen imo. That said, this was not his first round one cornerback fiasco. He passed on Mahomes to draft a corner 17 picks later (and was undercompensated for doing so). In 2022 he not only passed on several very good players, he actually traded UP to do so and draft Elam.
It is seemingly easier to blame Beame for these debacles, but McDermott is clearly at fault imo. He is a better coach than I originally thought but he has far too much power in the organization and should stick primarily to coaching, not team building, which he seems to be unsuited for.
