Sliding to call timeout and stop the clock then kick a FG with one sec left. Sadly it ticked off.

Are your players displaying a lack of discipline or perhaps even concentration? The Alabama players don't seem to be as focused this season.

Also, how is Caleb Downs looking?

DeBoer might not last at that program to be honest. He has to follow one of, if not the, greatest college coaches of all time. That’s a monumental task in itself, especially when you double down on the expectations that program has/have had.

He has to beat Tennessee this week. No if’s and’s or but’s. The rest of the schedule, as it stands, are unranked teams. A loss to any of them and he’s definitively out the door in the near future.

The thing is, these coaches have guaranteed contracts. I hope that they don't wind up in a Texas A&M/Jimbo Fisher situation. I really don't think they have that kind of money.

My insurance premiums doubled as my company who insured me for years with no claims , dropped me and left the state.  So I was paying 6 k a year and it went to over 12 k a year and even state sponsored plans are reportedly insolvent with no guarantee of paying for damage. They also require roof inspection and agreeing to replace any roof over ten years old. It became prohibitive for me as I became partially disabled after failed cervical surgery for 5 herniated discs and had to retire from my usual clinical work.  I am 67 , on social security now , and forking out 12 k a year for something you hope to never use has just been out of reach.  I have no mortgage , few bills , but the  insurance prices had been so bad , many who moved to Florida had to turn around and resell the property as they can’t afford to get insurance.  It’s terrible and there has been no relief with government help.

I hopefully am not in huge danger as I live in ponte vedra just south of Jacksonville but no part of Florida is fully safe with this storm.  I did get wind damage from Helene and This storm is the worst I  have seen as it’s supposed to cross the whole state into the Atlantic as a cat 2; even Disney is closed thru Thursday, and cape Canaveral .where space x launches from , is in the direct path as well and cruises leaving from port canaveral are beung cancelled or changed.

its a bad time in Florida now and any prayers are appreciated. Many people will lose everything because they can’t afford insurance. I know we will have power outages and storm surge ( i live in zone b and over half of my county south of St. Augustine is under mandatory evacuation. ) and my ISP has stated we will have outages. Lived here since moving from Ohio in 1985 , and this is the most concern for widespread damage I have experienced since moving here.

To make it worse , I have been ill with some abdominal issues , so I can’t travel right now. During the bills loss to the ravens , I got an emergency call from my sister in Ohio telling me my 98 year old mom had passed away unexpectedly while in rehab for a head laceration after falling.  She couldn’t go straight back to home  because she had so much bleeding , her bedroom carpet had to be removed and it was taking time to clean it out and replace it. She was supposed to make it back home where she was still living independently. Something went wrong and we didn’t get her back to her own home like we promised.  My father had passed in 2002 and I made many friends on here talking about him ( like 89 and cablelady) and even tho mom was 98 , it was a shock and still a very terrible, unexpected loss.

Her funeral / burial took place Thursday before the Texans game.  She was a great friend , buckeye and Bills fan, and I convinced her and my father to be Bills fans as we attended SB 28 in Atlanta together , cuz I knew we couldn’t lose 4 in a row. 😏🥹. So we never got to experience that BILLS SB WIN  before she passed.  Even at my age of 67 , it still is a huge loss of a great part of my life , and it feels much different now with both parents gone.  I  can’t call and talk about our crazy Bills losses with her anymore.  You never can replace your parents as they are your only source of unconditional love , so enjoy every moment and Bills games with them while possible. Sorry , I didn’t intend this to be a lamp , but with this massive hurricane coming , life can change forever in a day and I’m  a little emotional still.

So with all that going on , hurricane Helene came , and now Milton is bearing down on Florida as its wind field has already doubled as it heads to the state. Our part , Jacksonville area , is expected to get heavy rain , wind gusts and some storm surge as the St. John’s river will be inundated and flood.    But my prayers are for those on the west coast and central part of the state.  This strength of storm could change parts of Florida forever.  It’s been such a stressful time , yet the next 24-48 hours are.beginning to already cause issues with traffic jams , long gas lines, people saying goodbye to their homes possibly for the last time ,  and the rain bands are starting to hit. Imagine trying to move family , kids , pets , all with just a couple of days notice.  The roads are jammed  as you can see on YouTube , as people are fleeing.
So please keep Floridians  in mind as fellow BILLS fans and friends, and later if you can help with things like the Red Cross etc, please think about it as fema has been little support and you have all rallied for causes in the past.  Many will need help and IF you can all give a little support it will be a huge help.   It is a lot of stress as I know there will be lots of damage from a probable historic storm.  Stay safe getting out of evacuation zones and we can pray for this storm to lessen and keep the loss of life down.  Here’s hoping we will all be around watching the BIlls get back to being right and beat the unstable, unlikeable  , crazy jets. !    Go Bills !  😊✌️. And mom, I really miss you.

I am sorry for all that you are going through. Hang tough, and may God bless you and your loved ones through these sad, frightening times.

I was talking to a buddy today, and we were lamenting how as kids we loved baseball, but now no longer follow it.

i was a die-hard Mets fan (would probably watch just about every game on TV), and knew everything about the Mets and MLB.

in 2002, when they threw dumb money at Mo Vaughn, decided to try to outspend the Yankees, and fired my beloved Bobby V, I basically quit following them (and baseball) cold turkey.

    Anyone else doing something similar?

Yes. I am a recovering Jet Fan. I grew up in Queens and lived there for many years. I used to go to Shea Stadium and watch them. I admit that the place was a dump (it was owned ny NYC) but whatever. When they moved to New Jersey I turned my back on them. I hold no gripes against those from NJ but I am a New Yorker.

To this day they don't have their own stadium, and my thing is screw the Jets. The day they left NYC, I became a Bills fan and never looked back, nor will I ever.

  9. McDermott showed what he was about the day he traded away the Mahomes pick to KC (and for scant return I might add). And for those who want to blame Beane, he was not yet with the team. If he didn't luck into Josh Allen we would probably be as bad as we were during the drought.

McDermott should be fired either now or after the season, but it will not happen. It's as if he cast a spell on Mr. Pegula, who gave him too much power in the organization on day one.

  10. I could not be any happier with my dentist and my dental surgeon. They both are skilled, compassionate people. I have dental implants. My bottom teeth are one implant bridge. This alone cost me 25K, and this was 5 years ago. The uppers are implants as well. Now I can bit into a ribeye with no problems.

If anyone is thinking of implants and has the money, just do it. It will change your life.

  11. I know how much I lean on you
    Only you can see
The changes that I've been through
Have left a mark on me
You've been as constant as a Northern Star
    The brightest light that shines
    It's been you, woman
    Right down the line

It will be interesting to see how Kalen DeBoer responds to this Bama loss. I’ve never been sold on him being a smart coach. Dude almost gave away a Washington win in the playoffs by not knowing to take a knee. Those type of things matter at Bama. The SEC has a thin margin of error.

Agreed. There seems to be a lot to like about his offense but he seems like a very casual coach as compared to Saban. The players obviously are not accustomed to this and it showed on Saturday.

There is NO freaking possibility that Saban loses this game. Absolutely none. The game however did reinforce the fact to me that things without Saban will never be the same.

You REALLY have a question about what will "happen from there"? Really? I think we all know what will happen.

Well, much would depend on the health of our opponents. Do I think that we have the best chance of any team of winning the Super Bowl? No, not at all, but; it isn't 100% impossible that injuries to other teams will improve our chances.

Yep! Problem is the script is out. Our defense is too small to man up against smash mouth football.

I hear ya but we should be OK. The AFC East is extremely weak and this alone shoud guarantee us many wins. Tua is out, NE is a dumpster fire. The Jets have a good defense. That said, Rodgers made some good throws but on some plays he looked his age, and he took a couple of brutal hits. Their coach will be lucky to finish out the season.

I expect the Bills to coast to a division championship and we will see what happens from there.

Looks like Bama will be moving to #1.  Gotta think no matter how this game ended the winner would be jumping over Texas.

I hope not. Saban hated when the press and the fans would tell the team just how great they are. Remember when he called it "rat poison?"

DeBoer looks very good but I still miss the GOAT.

I think you might be feeling OK.

    Holy schnikes, man.

Division 1 just got put on notice.

It was a wonderful game, but  it was not good for my blood pressure. They really need to stay focused and figure out how they gave up a seemingly insurmountable lead.

Next weekend I will be up in Maine and I'm 99% sure that I won't be able to see the game because it will be on the SEC Channel. Even if I do find a place to watch it, I'm thinking that my wife will get pretty upset, and it's unreasonable of me to blame her. I watch every Bills game and every Crimson Tide game so I have no basis to win an argument.

Whoever thought it would come to this? :)
