I don't know, are our receivers the worst in the NFL? Our OL is not. In fact it's pretty damn good. That said, I am 100% in favor of adding talent and depth.
In terms of the receivers, we have zero choice. We MUST give the best player in football the receivers that he wants/needs to win us a title. If we do not, don't be surprised if he demands a trade. I hate even typing this but it really does scare me.

GA, as I stated the first time he’s good at mid rounds like Williams and Brown as that is a mid round. Kinkaid is only playing at most half the time as he is often injured. That’s not Beane’s fault, but availability is as important as ability. Torrence has been a solid right guard, but in football circles, he’s not considered elite yet, only above average. GROOT is an underperforming DE. Where is his 10-15 sacks. He sets the edge, but not worth his draft selection, nor is even close to what we see around the league. Beane just doesn’t seem to get blue chip players with his top picks. It’s fine you disagree, but we need the Max Crosby or some other blue chipper. It’s why we can get to the divisional round, but stall every year in the playoffs.
I disagree with the bolded. I think that if Josh had even middle of the pack receivers, the Bills could have won the Super Bowl this season. The Eagles and Lions would seem to be the most talented NFC teams and were out of contention early. Both Denver and the Pats were very beatable.
The Bills have Josh Allen, probably the best qb/player in the NFL and gave him a group of second rate receivers compared to other good teams, or really almost every NFL team. A player like Crosby would certainly help. This is beyond dispute but the Bills provided a great passing quarterback with inferior weapons and this is inexcusable, thus the McDermott firing.
As always, jmo.

Cap, I normally agree with you, but he was promoted from GM where he and McD answer directly to Pegula, to President of football operations and GM, and the head coach reports to him and wa shared by him. By definition, that is a promotion.
I tend to agree with the above. My guess is that Mr. Pegula finally realized that McDermott had FAR to much power and control, and that this played a large part in getting rid of him. Of course the playoff losses strongly entered into his decision as well.

Where are you going now, my love?
Where will you be tomorrow?
Will you bring me happiness?
Will you bring me sorrow?Oh, the questions of a thousand dreams
What you do and what you see
Lover, can you talk to me? -

Could his car not constitute the object or weapon here if he was trying to ram her car with his?
Yes. Perhaps this is what happened. In NYS, Assault charges require an injury. Even out of state, my guess is that she was injured.
This will cost him a good sum of money to buy her out.

What the hell is going on out there?
Aside from a couple outliers (Compton, Oakland), CA cities usually register among the lowest numbers of gun violence per capita in the entire country and now it's suddenly open season on 49ers?
Was there a gold strike on San Bruno or something?
Good question but those are two rather large outliers.

What amazes me is the charge. In NYS (and many other jurisdictions) the use of a weaponn or object upgrades an assault to a felony. Sure, but this person is a young NFL defensive end. Compared to normal people, NFL defensive ends have super human strength. I once dealt with Mark Gastineau several years after he retired. He had lost some weight and he had "alleged" drug issues. In my very strong opinion, very few people would have enjoyed f#^%*%g with him. Thankfully he was a total gentleman and didn't even mind a few football questions.
But back to the point, how on earth does an NFL DE require a weapon to assault this, or any other woman? What would account for this? Blind rage? Drugs? Or, maybe this person is a complete degenerate. Or all of the abovej.
That said, he will probably pay off the complainant to drop the charges, and be free to commit this and similar offenses against other women. I'm no genius but my money says that this woman was not his first victim and will not be his last.

Hope? Yes. New hope? No, not at all.
McDermott is gone. This gives me hope that Beane will remember on draft day that Josh Allen needs weapons. If Josh gets better wide receivers, it will actually help the defense. They will be playing more with leads, and enabled to tee off on opposing QBs, instead of implementing the same old Levy/Jauron/McDermott "play not to lose" mentality.
This has been my hope for many years.
Jmo.

I woke up this mornin' with the sundown shinin' in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in -
Jeff Wright anyone?

Tied with 85 Pats
I think that the 85 Pats were considerably better than this year's Pats. They had some really good players on offense and defense. That team had eight pro bowlers, and John Hannah and Andre Tippett are in the Hall of Fame.
Their problem was that they ran into a buzzsaw defense on the Bears. The only defense I can remember being in their class was the Steel Curtain.
Of course, this is jmo.

However, if the Bills get some actual outside WRs that teams have to worry about, that will reduce the amount of bodies in the middle of the field and the box which should make Kincaids blocking challenges not as significant for our running game.
Exactly. As far back as I can remember, every highly successful TE had very good outside receivers. Josh Allen is our QB and they incredibly failed to provide him with top quality wide receivers. I suspect that this will change due to getting rid of McDermott.
We can only hope.

I'm curious as to why you didn't include Waddle.

Fun hypothetical for you (that won’t happen). You have a well documented disdain for drafting DBs in round 1. You also have a slightly less documented love of Caleb Downs. If, by some miracle, he made it to 26 what would you think of selecting him there?
Actually this is a very good question, one that I appreciate. I suppose for instance that if we acquired Jaylen Waddle for picks that did not involve our 2026 #1 (which might be virtually impossible), picking Downs at #26 would not upset me. I said that Downs was great after watching his first game at Alabama. In fact, I sent @YoloinOhio a PM telling him what a wonderful player Downs is when he left Bama through the portal. He has great skills and is also very smart (according to Nick Saban).
I also want to clarify something. The Bills 1st round DB failures did not start with McDermott. Levy/Jauron were masters at passing on blockers (who we were in desperate need of) and drafting DBs instead. The 2006 draft was virtually dedicated to the secondary. Hell, even Butler drafted Leodis McKelvin after passing up on two stud blockers (Ryan Clady and Branden Albert).
When Thurman, Kelly, Bruce, and Andre aged at roughly the same time, we drafted corners rather than grooming their replacements, although they were admittedly obsessed for a while with RBs (a position that generally does not require 1st round picks imo). Mr Wilson wanted "fannies in the seats" and thought running backs were the answer.
I hope my answer makes some sense. Overall, I can't fathom how a team with a quarterback who is the best player in football does not make providing him with maximum weapons and protection their top priority.
As always, jmo.

They didn't focus on corners while McDermott was here.
Yeah, you are right. They wanted Mahomes instead of Tre White. They didn't tade up for Elam and refused to draft Hairston at #1.
Wait.....never mind.

What stands out to me is that Josh put up the very good stats without many quality wide receivers. Did any of these other quarterbacks NOT have better wideouts than Josh?
I am all but positive that the Bills will focus on receivers rather than corners now that McDermott is gone.

I completely agree with you, I do think that's a big part of it. We don't have to get into politics but you can't deny society is going through some major cultural shifts in the post pandemic world.
As a side note to that point, I have also noticed more and more people are giving up alcohol altogether which isn't a bad thing per say but I think it plays a role in people less willing to get together in a party atmosphere.
I agree with the above. I also think that more people are using marijuana in various ways and it is WAY stronger than it used to be. There have been instances when I have smelled it while in a moving car.
Also, the game ends late and it will be dark. Between that, the drunks, and the stoned out drivers it isn't very safe to drive imo. My closest friends are having a party roughly 20 miles from my house. I would love to go but it would be an unwise decision imo. I will stay home and root for my boxes.
Of course, jmo.
