  1. It appears as if Trinidad Chambliss is going to stay  at Ole Miss. I think that the kid is great.

As for Bama, they have 2 quarterbacks on the roster who both look good: Austin Mack and Keylon Russell. I happen to prefer Russell, who reminds me of Jayden Daniels. Of course he will have to prove himself but he really looks very good imo.

As much as I like Simpson and wish great things for him, I'm not terribly unhappy about him having declared. If he stayed, Russell might have hit the portal. He still might, who knows?

    It's a crazy situation.

  2. Your rain, falls like crazy fingers
Peals of fragile thunder, keeping time
Recall the days that still are to come

    Some sing blue.
Hang your heart on laughing willow

    Stray down to the water,

    Deep sea of love
Beneath the sweet calm face of the sea

    Swift undertow.

PS in the first game against GA, Bama didn’t score in the 2nd half.

Yes you are correct, however; they scored enough in the first half to defeat Georgia (yet again). This was something that no team was able to do until Ole Miss handled them, so it should count for something. 👍:)

NIL and portal have made that kind of run likely impossible now, but GA is giving it a shot.  They have been in the CFP 4 of the last 5 years, winning twice.  They have also played in the SEC championship the last 5 years winning 3 including the last 2.  The year they missed the CFP, 2023, they went 13-1 and their only loss was in the SEC Championship game.  With today’s playoffs, they’d have been a top 4 seed that year.  GA is 65-7 over the last 5 years.

Yes, Georgia looks good. Your QB will be back next year and I am a long time fan of Kirby.

That said, it is harder for coaches to control the players now. There are 19 and 20 year old kids speeding around town in 120 thousand dollar cars, intox, with thousands of dollars in their pockets. Many of them are getting arrested and suspended.

I am not claiming to have the answer to solve this problem or that it is specific to Georgia, but it does exist.

I get the impression that Cig is not a Saban fan.  He was pissed when Saban refused to promote him to a coordinator job and left Bama to be a head coach at a small school and work his way back up.

Anyway - Back on topic.  Heading to the Peach Bowl on Friday.  Can’t wait, but getting more nervous about the game with each passing day.  IU is the only team so far to bust the “Bye” curse.  Maybe they can also avoid the rematch curse.

I heard Cig praise Saban in a huge way on a you tube clip.

Good luck! Your team looks really good.

McD did a great job with roster issues. isn’t going anywhere.

I'm not completely sure what you mean by this dave. The thing is, if the roster is deficient in some way, don't you think that McDermott deserves some blame. Or, do you think that Beane (who McDermott hired) just runs up to the podium and makes draft decisions without input from McDermott?

At this point it may work. We are in the playoffs and the best player in football is our quarterback. Maybe he can carry us, even with our lacking wr corps. That said, McDermott deserves much of the blame for the roster issues on this team.

Nick Saban is by far the best modern football coach of all time

And not only is his resume crazy good.. his coaching tree is on another level

4 of the coaches currently left in the college football playoffs... Cig , Cristobal, lanning and Golding ARE ALL guys who coached under Saban

His scheme and terminology have transcended programs to where Nick Saban verbiage is everywhere at every level

And his defensive scheme was second to none

This college football playoff is a homage to Nick Saban and his legacy leaving the game in great hands with the coaching tree he has produced

    There will never be another

I couldn't agree more. His players bought into his way of doing things. Kiffen and Kirby both said that he was tougher on the coaches than he was on the players.

If you haven't seen this, I think that you might appreciate it.......

You're gone, and I'm hurtin' so bad (I pretend to be glad)
Like a clown I pretend to be glad (sad, sad, sad, sad)

But ain't too much sadder than the tears of a clown

But in passing, will grow older every day

Do know what I say is true
That I'll be loving you always

  11. People from Alabama tell me that Ty has been suffering a back injury for several weeks. Of course I can't verify this. Some are saying that he may return next season. If he does not, Alabama will be in good shape (imo) if Keelon Russell doesn't transfer out. I really like this kid from what little I have seen.

  12. Big time congrats to the Hoosiers and their fans. They handed my Crimson Tide their biggest loss since 1998 (not that anyone is supposed to care lol). I am proud to say that all four of the remaining playoff teams have a coach who was an assistant under Nick Saban.

Good luck in the next rounds!

I think he has already put himself back in the race, and with a similar game next week vs NE, while outplaying Media darling Drake Maye, he might move into the driver's seat.

His only competition at this point is Matt Stafford and Jonathan Taylor.......Taylor's season is about to get a lot harder due to his QB situation, and Stafford's numbers are impressive, but he has 2 #1 receivers to throw to.

Josh Allen had a couple of off games this year, which set him back, but with a strong finish, back-to-back MVP's is still a realistic outcome!!

    Go Bills!!!!!

    Thoughts??

He should never have been out of the race. He will have won 12 regular season games with horrid receivers, a mediocre defense, and a coach who cares little to not at all about providing him with weapons.

Josh Allen is the best player in the NFL.

See Notre Dame stepping it up a notch ditching USC rivalry for a duet with BYU.

Why not? I heard on Sirius that they are now guaranteed a playoff berth if they finish in the top 12 no matter weho their oponents are. This is ridiculous and is part of the reason that the Big 10 and SEC should form their own league. Notre Dame can stay where they are and continue to play The Little Sisters of the Poor.

  17. I am surprised that nobody mentioned WR Germie Bernard from Alabama. Germie is everything Keon Coleman was supposed to be and much more. I'm not a scout but I have watched every play of every game he has played in at Alabama and here is what I see:

The kid isn't a speed burner but he is big, very strong, almost always seems to be open, and has great hands. He is a very good blocker and makes the difficult catches. He finds the endzone, and even gains yardage on trick handoff plays.

Germie is also NOT a headcase. He is quiet, unassuming, and the coaches love him. Anything is possible but I cannot pictire this kid having off field issues. The team that drafts him is going to be extremely happy. He probably will not go in round one because he isn't a speed burner.

    @GunnerBill, what do you think?

  18. Diego Pavia is an intriguing player imo. Vanderbilt lists him at 6 feet tall. Others place him at a far more accurate 5'9". I liken him to a stronger Doug Flutie with a better arm. The kid definitely has an attitude, but he plays with composure, or so I think. He is listed as a 6th year senior so he will enter the  NFL with more experience than most.

Kiper has him listed as his 9th rated QB. I would tend to rate him somewhat higher than that. His height is a serious drawback but he has a strong arm and is a VERY vood runner. I sense that he is smart like Flutie, and seemingly a bit of a headcase but that is obviously just a guess. His brothers are nuts LOL.

In any event, I would not at all mind if the Bills take him if he is there for us in the mid to late rounds, and think that he might be an interesting, low cost backup for Josh.

    What do y'all think?
