  1. 1) Well it's official. Rex Ryan has destroyed this talented football team. 2) I know he gave up a long TD pass, but Corey Graham is a very good player, who makes plays all over the field. And btw, on the TD he did give up Bradford had all month to throw. 3) After the 47 yard TD pass to Watkins, EJ was sitting right next to Tyrod on the bench. He was smiling and encouraging. I have been critical of EJ as a quarterback but he sure seems like a good kid. 4) I'm not sure why Miller was on the field today. Do they really think he is better than Urbik? I for one do not. 5) Since the day he was signed, Mario Williams has been my favorite player on the Bills. And his sack today was great. The problem is that before the sack, he was a complete non factor. I don't know if it's because of the idiotic scheme, injuries, lack of effort, or whatever. I can't tell you but it is painful to watch. An btw Dareus was no prize either. 6) Last week, a very observant poster noted that Woods seems to be constantly falling down, at times for no reason. Well on his first catch in the 1st quarter, it looked as if he had room to run, and down he went. 7) Going where the wind don't blow so strange, Maybe on some high cold mountain range. Lost one round but the price wasn't anything, Knife in a back, and more of the same. Same old rat in a drain ditch, Out on a limb, You know better but I know him. 8) You know, Rambo is starting to grow on me in a good way. 9) There is no accountability on this team. 15 penalties? Seriously? Rex has taken this very talented team and made them into a rebuilding project, one that will have cap issues to boot. 10) On the last drive before half time the Bills were rushing 3 men on almost every play. Once, Mario was one of the three and HE TOO dropped into coverage. This team was tops in sacks for the last 2 years. Now Rex has them playing like a bunch of pansy ass losers. I am a Bills Fan. I can handle losing but this is just plain ugly. 11) Cordy Glenn probably played his best game of the season. 12) A taunting penalty by a marginal player such as Meeks? I suppose if your coach doesn't care, go for it. 13) The man just isn't very good, but Manny Lawson did play well in the first half. 14) Tyrod was the most effective runner on the field. A few more carries by him and we would have won this game imo. Considering the protection and all of those penalties, I was satisfied with his performance today. Not thrilled mind you. 15) I really, really hope that Rex will accept a buyout and just get out of here. 16) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Years ago, the only legit pass rusher on the Bills was Aaron Schobel, and he was a good one. Dumbo Jauron used to send him back into coverage and opposing qbs would have absolutely no pressure. Of course, the Bills lost more often than they won. Rex came to town saying this team would be "bullies." Well, he is employing the same passive scheme and the team isn't suited for it.
  3. McKelvin isn't popular around here and he isn't a great corner, but he is a better than average player in terms of replacing a starter. In fact, MUCH better than average. We can make this move and leave Robey in the slot. I am not overly concerned unless another corner goes down. Right now, Hughes is our only true pass rusher on the front 7. None of us know the deal wrt Mario but right now he is not producing. If Hughes is sent into coverage, this is only further proof that Rex is incompetent. This game is right there for the Bills to win. It is also right there for Rex to lose.
  4. Who do you think hired Marrone? Someone other than Brandon? My point is simply that imo, Whaley still answers to Brandon in some ways.
  5. Brandon made a very wise choice when he hired his Syracuse crony Marrone, and his is band of rank amateurs? Really??? This means little at this point imo. Remember, Whaley aggressively tried to re-sign Byrd and Spiller. Many people (not you) act as if Whaley knew enough to kick these guys to the curb, but this isn't the case.
  6. Great post! Listen, Rex sent in lots of players on blitz packages yesterday. I saw Robey, Rambo, Graham and others rush the qb. This is what Pettine used to do and this was what I thought we were getting from Rex. It was also a crucial part of winning this game. I have no answers for what Rex was doing this season in terms of having a 300 hundred million plus dollar defensive line drop back into coverage. Who knows when he changed from a self proclaimed "bully" to Dick Jauron Jr.? But I fully agree with you. Rex lost us at least 2 games with his passive defensive scheme. Let's hope it isn't too late.
  7. It's too late for this way of thinking when it comes to Bills Fans. We have seen our "professional" coaches and GMs make so many blunders over the years that it seems kind of natural to second guess them.
  8. On the one miss he clearly did get a bad hold. It's a tough call wrt Carpenter. I always liked him, and don't know how much better we can be this season if we cut him. What do you think?
  9. 1) It was really cool to see Woods score the TD. The truth is that I stopped even thinking about him as a weapon. 2) Another great game for Sammy! I was particularly fond of the first TD play. The timing and placement were perfect, and Sammy just went up and took it. 3) I guess we can say that Clay redeemed himself for the awful drop in the 4th Quarter. He looked as if he didn't want to take a hit and this completely changed the momentum of the game. He caught the TD on what appeared to be a defensive break down, but I will take it. 4) Btw, on the 3rd down incomplete pass in the opening drive of the second half, Hogan was wide open on the sideline, and could have jogged into the end zone. 5) I just don't understand what was happening with Mario today. I know he had 0 sacks, and I don't think he had one tackle or one assist either. But it was strange.....in the first half, they seemed to be neutralizing him with just one blocker. In the second half he was constantly doubled, yet he was bringing some pressure. I don't get it. 6) Since it cost a lot to win, and even more to lose. You and me bound to spend some time wondering, what to choose. Goes to show, you don't ever know. Watch each card you play and, play it slow. Wait until your deal come round. Don't you let that deal go down, NO!!! 7) It was a tougher play to make than I initially thought, but it would have saved us quite a bit of grief if Darby made that interception on the first drive. 8) I sure am glad that the Bills are still technically alive. We have at least one more week of hope. We deserve this and more!!! 9) Did you hear Wilcotts at the very end of the game? He said (I am paraphrasing)that Rex never met a qb who he didn't want to hit. Before this year I thought the same thing. Imo, this was the most pass rush we had since week one. 10) I like and support Taylor. The kid is good and has a lot of heart. That said, I feel like I am correct in saying that he needs to run to achieve his full potential. Once he ran for the TD and picked up KEY first downs with his legs, the Texans simply had to account for this. 11) Poor Mills lol. Imagine starting a pro career against the best player in football!!! He of course didn't fare well but we didn't miss Henderson all that much, ya know? 12) The 53 yard pass to Sammy went 45 yds. in the air and was perfectly placed, with just the right amount of air under it. It might have been TT's best throw of the season. 13) McCoy did show us some heart today, as well as some great moves. 14) Congrats to the Bills, and to you my friends. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Sarcasm my friend.
  11. I just would like to point out that this is a really nice thing to do.
  12. For many years I did not agree with the above. I would point out to people that the Colts drafted Tarik Glenn and Adam Meadows before they drafted Payton. I would also tell people just how good playing on (imo) the best or 2nd best OL off all time made Kenny Stabler. Those days are over. The QB position is now at least 50% of the game, probably more. The rule changes caused this and it will only get worse. If I was a GM I would draft a qb early every single season. If somehow I wound up with 2 very good ones, imagine the trade value! Even poor to marginal qbs have some value. Two football teams actually traded for Matt Cassell. I am guessing that the Bills could even convince some team into giving us a 7th round pick for EJ Manuel. I do like this conversation, but rest assured it does not apply to the Bills. Guys like us will watch college games, you tube, etc. in an attempt to find good qbs and good blockers. Then, the Bills will probably draft a defensive back in round 1, and might even trade up to do so.
  13. Here is mine: Round 1) Safety Round 2) Cornerback Round 3) Defensive Tackle or End who is good at pass coverage Rounds 4-7) Best secondary available After all, we ARE bullies. Just ask Rex!
  14. The above is a very probable scenario which is all too familiar. That said, I think that the defense is screwed up to the point of being unable to stop even the worst offense. Sadly, I am thinking 30-27 Houston, 0 sacks, and their qb will set a personal record for most yards he has ever thrown for in a game.
  15. Sure, but the hardest thing to do in any sport is to hit a baseball. Being big, fast and strong isn't enough.
  16. KD, one has to be very disciplined to not get pissed off about the 2015 Bills. Rex came to town telling us that the Bills would be bullies. Well, these bullies look more like ballet dancers as the tiptoe away from the LOS, not even making qbs hurry, let alone hitting them. This mind you, after signing the defensive linemen at a cost of well over a quarter of a billion dollars. Did you, or any Bills fan see this coming? I sure didn't, and I've been watching football for more than 45 years. Ultimately, allowing ones self get angry is a very bad thing to do. Maybe the Bills are here to put us to the test.
  17. It has NOTHING to do with continuity. Not one thing. It's about 20 million dollars left on his guaranteed contract.
  18. Houston has what I consider to be a poor to average at best offense. That said, I am more afraid of that offense torching us than I am of JJ Watt and their defense. This is how much Rex has destroyed our once great defensive unit. That is pretty sad whereas JJ is a one man wrecking crew, and easily the best player in the NFL who isn't a qb.
  19. Interesting that you should say this. Tarpley was the only player on the Bills with a qb sack. How is that for a disgrace? Rex has, despite the talent they have, ruined this defense. Do you have faith that they can stop anybody? I do not. For 2 years they were a talented, physical group. Now, if I were going to give them a nickname I would call them the "Jauronettes." They run away from scrimmage and let so-so qbs rip them apart. Bottom line? Rex has obviously destroyed the strength of the team.
  20. Give any qb all day to throw and he will find someone open. These guys are professionals. The Bills are pros as well, but Rex is not allowing one of the best front fours of the decade to rush the quarterbacks of opposing teams. It is SO unimaginable that it feels almost surreal.
  21. I don't agree with the above one bit. This defense is passive up front, enough to remind one of the Levy/Jauron days. If I was an opposing OC, I would be laughing at Rex and The Bills as I watch their linemen run away from scrimmage. The Bills defense became a good one under Pettine. It got even better with Schwartz. This is because we had a pass rush. Under Pettine we had admittedly issues against the run, but this is a passing league, no? I think that Rex is trying to show the world how smart he is. The problem is that in doing so, he is looking less like a genius and more like a buffoon. Sadly, he is causing the team to lose games.
  22. Did Darby seem to get worse after he was shaken up?
  23. Oh yeah! I knew there would be a problem when we missed the extra point. And once again, looking at the halftime stats one would think we were looking at a 3 TD victory at least.
  24. 1) No challenge on the catch by Hogan in the 4th quarter? I must admit, Rex is consistent. He is consistently idiotic, whereas he pulled the same stunt in the 2nd quarter. Not to be denied, he DID challenge plays that were clearly against us. 2) I don't know about you, but each and every time they showed Sammy's stats during the second half, it was like a knife in my stomach. Do you realize that we will have to look at those numbers all week? Not one f)$&^(g yard in the second half? Nothing?? You really cannot make this s%^t up. 3) I really like Tyrod. Seriously. But the man needs to be more decisive, be it getting rid of the ball or taking off to run. He, for the most part, did seem to have SOME time today, despite the horrible play of Henderson. 4) Seriously, when was the last time you saw a Bills player take over a football game the way Sammy did in the first half? Please, jog my memory. You just cannot lose a game in which a man plays this well! Ooops, I guess WE can. 5) There are times that you can beckon, There are times when you must call. You can shake a ton of reckoning, But you can't shake it all. There are times when I can help you out, And times that you must fall. There are times when you must live in doubt, And I can't help at all. Three blue stars / Rise on the hill. Say no more, now / Just be still. All these trials / Soon be past. Look for something / Built to last. 6) The Bills couldn't even stop the Chiefs on the final drive, knowing full well that they were going to run the football. Just an absolute disgrace. 7) As soon as the 3rd quarter started, the Bills basically stopped rushing the quarterback. On the TD pass to #87 (Kelce?), they rushed only 3, and the lineman in the middle stayed back. Even a Bills fan should not have to sit through nonsense like this. Oh, and did you see his TD dance? I have several comments I would love to make about this but I choose to refrain. 8) Make no mistake, I will NEVER turn my back on the Bills or especially Bills fans. I will go to the grave as a loyal fan. Period. That said, it really is taxing sometimes, wouldn't you say folks? 9) How much of the game did you spend wondering exactly why the Bills under utilized Watkins last week? He was going past, over and around defenders, making it look SO easy. Who would ever believe that he wouldn't catch another pass? Seriously, this cannot happen. 10) Yikes, as I am typing this they once again displayed Sammy's numbers on the Seahawks game. No choice now, I've got to turn the S&%t off. 11) I can understand Hughes being frustrated, but his roughing the passer penalty was amateurish, stupid, and costly. 12) People, I am sorry that I allowed myself to get so angry. I mean this, and you are reading the edited version. 13) At least we are not alone. We are in this mess together. 13) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
