Rapaport: Trading Kiko was Rex's idea
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fantastic post John! I for one am absolutely thrilled by this trade. I view a presumably healthy Kiko as very, very strong in coverage but frankly, a bit light in the ass vs. the run. Knowing it's a passing league these days, I supose this isn't a huge liability any more. That said, McCoy over Spiller? Not even close. McCoy is going to score touchdowns, as well as gain steady yardage providing we can improve the line. If nobody offers Bulaga sick money he would be a nice fit imo, along with another OG from the draft. Btw, guess who Greg Cossell is praising on Sirius? You guessed it, Cassell. It looks as if this will be a fun season. -
There are a couple of teams (Oakland, Jax and perhaps Cleveland) with HUGE amounts of cap room. And, I heard this is the year of the cap "floor" where teams must spend a minimum amount. This changes things imo. The Giants used the franchise tag (14.4 mil.) on JPP. I thought that was crazy but maybe someone would have offered him that much. I consider Spiller to be a 2 million dollar or so gadget player, but maybe a team such as Jax will offer him his 5 mil. I doubt it but it is possible.

Brother, this trade would seem to ABSOLUTELY mandate that the Bills go after blockers via the draft, free agency or both. How about Bulaga, ya know? I am absolutely thrilled by this trade! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Dave, this trade is a thing of beauty!!! Spiller is out the door. And, there is no freaking doubt in my mind now that they will go after more blockers in the draft and/or free agency. And let's face facts.....Kiko, while good, is light in the ass and coming off a serious injury. I LOVE this trade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
What do you think will happen with Jerry Hughes?
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. Even top 10 picks cost pennies these days. But I am surprised that more teams do not use the Transition Tag. -
Can EJ be the starting QB for the Bills
Bill from NYC replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yikes!!! Ya think??? I think that the ship has clearly sailed wrt the above. -
Do you seriously think the above is possible, or is this you being polite? 10-6 with Manuel starting 16 games? Really? When you say "possible," what percentage are you feeling? 5%? 10%? 50%? If EJ starts 16 games and wins 10, I will be the happiest AND most shocked Bills Fan in the continental USA. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good post. One which did live up to your screen name which btw I always thought was funny. Not as great as "PillsnBills," but easily top 20.

Mel Kiper: No franchise QBs in 2015 draft
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He sure did. The problem was that there was little blocking and no quarterback. Oh, and the Bills lost football games. It mattered little. The 2006 draft was just so awful that it set the team back quite a few years. Levy and Jauron were simply inept managers that nobody else wanted. -

Mel Kiper: No franchise QBs in 2015 draft
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This Sir, is a great post. People like you and me are not likely to ace a draft let alone properly asses every quarterback. That said, for many years I have seen posters on this board post better draft selections than our inept management, especially Levy/Jauron. When a guy like me think that Rob Johnson is a good qb and is wrong, no harm done. When our management uses top ten picks on the likes of Whitner and Spiller, they harm the franchise. -

Robey is bad. Is that right? Absolutely no credibility here. -
Alabama Fans- What do you think of Sims?
Bill from NYC replied to Last Guy on the Bench's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
HUGE Crimson Tide Fan here..... Sims is a very smart player who listens to his coaches. I love this about the kid. He throws an easy pass to catch but at times he needs a bit more air than one would like. He is small but he's a gamer. He buys time ala Wilson but is far less fluid and natural. My expectations for him are mixed. McCarron was a better college QB by far (numbers notwithstanding) if this helps at all. -
Hackett Interviewing for Rams OC
Bill from NYC replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It isn't. The blame lies on Brandon for hiring Marrone, his Syracuse crony. Hackett was part of Marrone's coaching tree. How sad is that? Can you imagine bringing this low level of accomplishment and experience to lead an NFL franchise? People are certainly entitled to their opinions, but I think that Brandon gets off easy on this board. He brought in an inexperienced clown and actually gave him a 4 million dollar escape clause. Let me know when this happens on another franchise. And btw, I actually prefer Hackett to Marrone. -
Upcoming Contracts to Consider
Bill from NYC replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good post but sadly, some of the above names will more than likely suffer serious injury. That's just how it goes. I also think that it is VERY important to re-sign players such as Robey and Searcy. These guys don't get headlines but they are key contributors AND, they already are familiar with the system having played for Pettine. And btw, it would be very dumb to have to use up precious resources to replace players such as those who really are doing their jobs quite well.
