  1. >>>>>either you are talking about Kouandjio, or I'm the only one that missed on him<<<<< As a life long Tide Fan, I wasn't high on Kujo and warned people on this board. He was the 4th best blocker on that Bama OL. And, it was known that he was/is hurt. Too bad because he is a great kid by all accounts. Btw, I have mixed emotions wrt his brother at LG. Sorry to stray off topic, but Austin Sheppard is an interesting OL prospect. He plays RT and might be able to play OG a well. I do want to see his numbers with 225 on the bench, but as a RT he might last a while in the draft.
  2. Lane Kiffin.
  3. FWIW, I view TJ Yeldon as the next Fred Jackson.
  4. Thanks and I would like to extend fond Christmas wishes to all of you folks and your loved ones. I also ask that we pray for the families, co-workers, and souls of the police officers who were executed.
  5. Tipster my friend, here is my vote: I can't say that want to sign him, nor can I say that I don't care if he leaves. Place me I the camp who cannot wait until he is cut and takes his expensive, counter productive ass out of Buffalo. Say what you will about Bryce Brown, but my guess is that he could have picked up more than -4 yds. on the ground against the Raiders. Call me crazy.......
  6. The above is quite presumptuous imo. Brandon had the power, and Marrone was a Syracuse crony who he even allowed to bring in his staff. I too will make a presumption: I am guessing that Marrone and Hackett are two of the lowest paid persons at their respective jobs. Ask yourself this if you will.....if the Bills don't make the playoffs and fire Marrone, how many teams do you think will be clamoring around to sign him as a head coach? Marrone might be a good head coach some day. I am NOT saying that this cannot happen. There ARE things that I like about him. But to say that hiring a cheap, inexperienced head coach with a so-so resume was some sort of monumental achievement is a mischaracterization of sorts. Jmo.
  7. Both comments are 100% on the money my friend. Marrone was a Brandon crony from Syracuse. I said this from day 1. As far as big egos, right again. Nick Saban has earned the right to be pompous, no? Let me add one thing.....Brandon, Whaley and Marrone did little this season besides try to hang onto their jobs. I think that Watkins will be great, but he was drafted while the team was in the hands of a qb that is just so bad that the players and fans were crying out for Orton. Whaley gave up a #1 in 2015 in this situation and is therefore not to be excused either imo.
  8. Let me start by saying that a win on Sunday, imo, would be a monumental game in Bills history. Here is why: 1) A win on the road against Peyton Manning would be a major accomplishment for ANY team in the NFL. 2) If we can do this, the team and the fans would view beating the Packers at home as a distinct possibility. This includes pessimistic me. 3) It would make money for the new owner. The Green Bay game would sell out. 4) Our playoff hopes would be completely alive. Bottom line? I am really looking forward to this football game. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. True, but he doesn't have the defense that we do. Put Luck on this team and we are 12-4, or so I think.
  10. Better than the year when Bryce Paup was the NFL Defensive MVP? Are you sure? Good point!
  11. My friend, if you want to lose football games a good way to do so is to draft a situational scat back with a top 10 draft pick, especially if you have QB issues. And those were pre-Pettine and Mario days. Mr. Wilson praised this selection. He said that the team needed, "excitement." This team didn't win football games with Spiller. We are still not in the playoffs as we speak, but we are doing just as well without him. And btw, let me readily admit that the Bills need an upgrade at RB. I do however hope that we don't draft one too early and focus more on Guards to fill the void of the ones we stupidly let go.
  12. If he picks up his player option and he is cut, is this a cap hit for the Bills?
  13. John, you have nowhere to go wrt Spiller. And btw, I think that the combo of Robey and Searcy have won us as many football games as Spiller and Whitner (top 10 picks) or more. Our front 4 is what might get us to or even over .500 this year, coupled with somewhat respectable qb play. This of course is strictly my opinion, and it is always great to hear from you.
  14. You are right, but in SOME situations they are. Teams move receivers around these days. It isn't like Mel Blount covering a teams best receiver on every play. My point is that I will take pass rushers over DBs every day. And for that matter qbs over rbs. It's a different game today.
  15. I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound dismissive. OK? In fact, I apologize for sounding as such. I ask you why, in your opinion, do the Bills have a better record this season. I think that its primarily because of the pass rush. Next (imho) would be because Orton isn't as painfully bad as Manuel. I really don't think that its because of the secondary. Put a top 15 qb and better blocking on the Buffalo Bills and they are superbowl contenders but of course, this is simply mho. And btw thanks for the dialogue.
  16. OK....teams frequently line up in 4 or 5 wide formations. Let's draft defensive backs in round 1 instead of pass rushers. We can cover them all with first round, or perhaps top 10 picks. Sounds like a plan, right? Lets forget about QBs, LTs and pass rushing DEs. They are a dime a dozen and matter less than the aptly titled "secondary." Wait.....we did this and haven't made the playoffs in this century. Never mind.
  17. If there is no such thing as a shutdown corner, why draft one with a top 10 pick, this on a team with serious quarterback problems? The rule changes have completely revolutionized this sport. What IS interesting is that the most important positions remain the same. NFL football teams need a better than average QB, pass rushers and blocking in order to win football games. Defensive backs are of little importance compared to the above. And btw, Searcy and Robey are making play after play. Isn't it interesting to note where they were drafted as compared to the rest of our secondary?
  18. Another comment....Joe Thomas, going against Hughes, was penalized often. This says great things about Hughes. I hope that they offer him a new contract tonight. He needs to stay on our football team.
  19. Thank you so much. Marrone killed the clock and kicked field goals. He trusted the defense and he was correct in doing so. Make no mistake, I am not trying to sell Marrone as a head coach to you nor anyone else. But the truth is that imo he did his job very well today.
  20. Thanks but it's not like that. It's all cool.
  21. 1) All Preston Brown, Bradham and Spikes did today was kick peoples asses. This is one trio of tough, badass linebackers. 2) The pick by Orton in the early second quarter (in the end zone) was a bad one. It actually looked like a rookie mistake. More on Orton to come. 3) Gilmore was getting beat on short passes in the entire first half. I must however say that he came around and had an all around good game. 4) I am concerned about Cordy Glenn. He looked like a plodding Right Tackle today imo. I don't know what his problem is but it is a concern. 5) I live in a silver mine, and I call it Beggar's Tomb. I got me a violin and I beg you call the tune. Anybody's choice, I can hear your voice. Wo-oah what I want to know-oh, How does the song go? 6) Sammy Watkins is hobbled. There is no debate here. I really do hope that his condition doesn't get worse. 7) A few have you have taken me to task about my praise of Mr. Searcy. Don't get me wrong, I love the dialogue but there is no longer any doubt how much value he brings to this football team. Once again, he will be a head coach some day. This man is PURE football. 8) This game appeared to be slow today in terms of the footing. Nobody looked THAT fast. Do you agree? In the Alabama game last night players on both teams were flying all over the field. Maybe it was be me. 9) In the credit where it is due department, Orton came around and was able to hit Woods with some truly nice passes. The TD to Hogan was also a great play. 10) The passes to Gray were very good, however strange, no? The guy looks like Hercules and ran out of bounds. Plus, he seemed to be alone on both of his big plays. I admit it, I didn't know that the man was on our football team. I had really no idea what was going on lol. 11) This defensive line reminds me of the one in which Bryce Paup had 17 1/2 sacks and was the NFL Defensive MVP. They take turns having great games and feed off of what is happening with each other. Mario was doubled all day and I think held more often than not. His fellow linemen were able to take advantage of this. How great is that?! My hope is that the Bills offer a big contract to Hughes right now. He is a modern day Bryce Paup imo. 12) I really like Marrone, but I am not his biggest fan in terms of being a head coach. That said, he was great today. It was his best game ever in terms of taking control and managing game and the clock, or so I think. 13) I am on a personal quest to be a better person. I won't go into this but I am going to regress just a bit. Watching KW knock that little obnoxious twit on his ass was a sight to behold. 14) Congrats my friends. We truly do deserve good days. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Thank You 1,000 Times!!!!!!! I think that I took more heat on this board for blasting Whitner than all other posters on the board combined. I was absolutely livid as well as totally dumbfounded the second this abortion of a draft selection was announced. He came to Buffalo, actually held out, and got in trouble for a domestic. Yes, a horror from day 1. After that, he couldn't cover at all. Do you remember the game in the snow against the Bears. They had some white guy at TE; I can't remember his name. Lil Donte made him look like Kellen Winslow Sr. And he DID lose his starting job for a while but he DID pocket every dime of a 36 million dollar contract! That draft was stacked too, and Levy said that he turned down NUMEROUS offers to trade down. To this day, it's hard to fathom the incompetence of Levy/Jauron.
  23. The above was my exact point. And I will add that Cutler makes at least 17 million, right. So does Stafford and as I recall Flacco gets 21 mil. Orton, EJ and Mallet combined would earn approx. 10 mil. so it wouldn't be tough on the purse nor the salary cap. Thanks Bro. I used to think the same but James Lofton said otherwise. He said that the offense had to be completely revamped because of the switch to Orton and credited Hackett. Your complaints about the OL are valid. I cannot however agree wit the above. Watkins, whether one agrees with the trade or not, is great (although seemingly hampered by injury). Woods is much improved and actually took over a football game. Hogan is an interesting wideout. Great? Of course not but I sure will take him over TJ Graham. Btw, the Watkins trade will debated for years and for good reason. I can totally see both sides of the issue. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Not really; that isn't the way I roll.
  25. 1) I am not the optimistic sort, but I have a an inkling that we are going to win this football game on Sunday. 2) I am starting to think that Hackett isn't so bad. In the offseason, he based his offense around Manuel and Thad Lewis, 2 running qbs (or so they say). They both sucked, and he had to rebuild around Orton, who in terms of style is their polar opposite. 3) Go ahead and blast me for this.....curse at me and call me a moron, but I hope that the Bills sign Ryan Mallett in the offseason. You know why? Because he would cost pennies. And like you, I do suspect that he is a total idiot. But IF he can straighten out, he could hit Watkins on the hands with 60 yard post patterns. 4) I am thankful to see that WNY is recovering from this storm. You people are amazing. Nemo was the worst blizzard that I have ever lived through and you had twice that. I pray that none of you suffered losses. 5) Brad Hopkins on Sirius likened the Bills with EJ Manuel to having a shiny new Ferrari with a 16 year old behind the wheel. He didn't rave about Orton mind you, but did say that he was better and that Bills Fans should be thankful. 6) I hope I will have time to post after the game on Sunday. 7) Mario and Woods took over the Jet game, and Robey keeps making plays. 8) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
