  1. I sense that you underestimate how important it is for a receiver to actually get open. Watkins looks like a star, no? He doesn't have exceptional size nor speed. But he is quick, has GREAT hands, and gets OPEN! SJ got open too, but his hands were shaky. Hogan plays special teams and can actually shake his defender. I wouldn't take him so lightly. Jmo.
  2. I have always been a fan of Woods and still am. But the possibility does exist that Hogan gets open more than Woods. Notice that I said possibility in lieu of undisputed truth. But if I was pinned down I still think that Woods is a better all around wide out. That said, we need players such as Hogan.
  3. You are correct. McKelvin is a good player Dan. And he was even that much better last season under Pettine.
  4. 1) I've got a confession to make about EJ. Yes, I said EJ. I was never high on him until today. He was standing on the sidelines with the coaches and Orton was involved. He was clearly happy when we completed passes and made plays. This tells me he is a team player; a young kid trying to learn. I respect this big time and offer him a proverbial tip of the hat. I appreciate this kind of behavior. 2) Speaking of human behavior, my life has taught me that its not always easy to predict. Weren't Dareus and Hughes the guys that were acting like fools in the off season? Well, watch the game my friends. They looked like the best conditioned athletes on the field today. And, they were focused. Marcel is a monster. Gotta love that kid!!! 3) I speak my mind in case you haven't noticed lol and do own up to my predictions. I was flat out against the trade-up for Watkins. That said, credit him for the win today. The kid stepped up and won the Buffalo Bills a football game. This is a big deal as Bills fans know. 4) Try to give me some room this week, ok? This was one of the most confusing Bills games I have ever seen, and I see them all.....every play. 5) Schwartz is killing me. Completions on 3rd and 10 and 3rd and 18 on the SAME DRIVE? Thee is too much talent on the Bills defense for this to happen. He doesn't apply enough pass pressure pure and simple. 6) I turn and walk away, then I, come round again. It looks as though tomorrow, I'll do very much the same. I must turn down your offer, but I'd like to ask a break. You know I'm ready to give everything, for anything I take Someone called my name, You know I, turned around to see It was midnight in the Mission, and the bells were not for me 7) I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate how tough Orton is. Seriously, he is a throwback. But when he is forced out of the pocket, it really does suck, no? 8) Hackett too was like a knife in my ribcage today. The handoffs up the middle to a seemingly gassed Dixon on first and second down were tough to take, no? 9) Sorry if I bore you, but here goes my almost weekly shout out to Searcy. He was in on a key sack (got credit for half). He has virtually no cap hit and he contributes all the time. Any football team needs players like him. This is beyond dispute imo. 10) It is unusual to be down on a coach after a win, but Marrone didn't impress me today. We were home, against a not so great team. It was the first road start for their qb too. There were too many penalties, and he is responsible for bringing in Schwartz. I want to like Marrone. I truly do but he makes it tough to do so. 11) I wish Spiller well and at the same time am anxious to see what Bryce Brown will bring this football team. 12) Gilmore? He was very good on coverage most of the game. But in the first quarter he really looked bad on two running plays. He seemed to simply throw his body into the play when he could have wrapped up the runner. 13) There is a lot to talk about wrt the OL but make no mistake, Glenn didn't play so well today. That said, in the 3rd quarter Richardson seemed to come alive. Let's hope, ya know?! 14) Did anyone see what happened to Mario on 3rd and 4 on the Vikes opening drive? First he was held, then he was tackled. They didn't make the first down so the penalty would have been declined, but these calls appear to be random at this point. 15) Chandler? A Crucial first down reception after a crucial drop. At least he didn't quit! 16) Congrats to us Bills Fans. Mid October, we are over .500, and I am loving it! 17) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Pears is NOT a guard. He is a brute strength RT (and not the worst). He simply doesn't have the agility to play LT nor the burst to play OG. It ain't happening. Kujo was the 4th best blocker on the Tide. The line was stacked with stars. He is not exceptionally strong. He's fairly agile, but there seems to be an injury problem. Either way, he was a stupid selection considering that we have Glenn at LT. And I strongly sense that he lacks the strength to be a good guard, let alone RT. So who do we blame for this mess? Marrone for not starting Urbik? Whaley for wasting a pick on a damaged Kujo? No and No. Imo Brandon should be loaded into a cannon and fired into Lake Erie. He is a sophisticated, modern day circus barker. It was HE who brought in his Syracuse cronies and a literal nobody to be GM. If Brandon is fired (fingers crossed) and a team picks him up, they will make a profit and lose football games. Brandon is a cancer and a disaster.
  6. It might interest you to know that I heard Marrone say on Sirius Radio that it was HE who called Schwartz to ask him if he was interested in the job. He also said that he named the talented players on the roster as a selling point. No hidden message above. I however was a bit surprised.
  7. The above is a fair question and your point is taken. I am thinking that our current LB corps is much better against the run than last season, and I think it would have made a ton of sense to send in more blitzes against an aging Brady and a shaky OL.
  8. Not so sure about the above. The DL put pressure on Brady but not enough, and at times they rushed 3. When Brady is on, he will find open receivers given time, and time is exactly what Schwartz handed him. They should have blitzed and kept hitting him. The Bills didn't do well in the past with passive defenses. This game was more of the same and makes one long for the days of Pettine.
  9. I suppose I can understand your criticisms of Orton. That said, EJ is an absolute disgrace. One you should get over too. Orton is a pro. EJ is/was a flat out nightmare; a guarantee to lose football games.
  10. 1) Big time kudos to Chandler today. 6 catches for 105 yards is more than one could ask for under the circumstances of todays game. 2) I am NOT going to fault Gilmore on the TD pass that he gave up. The coverage was near perfect, and Brady had a month to throw because of the sub-par coaching of Schwartz. Actually, I thought that Gilmore played rather well today. More to come on Schwartz. 3) Duke Williams was SO bad today that I am uncomfortable talking about it. The pass interference call was about as bad a play as I have ever had the displeasure to watch. I hate to say it, but Searcy got toasted too. However, he looked great compared to Duke. It was just sickening to watch Williams. 4) I love the way that this team fights back. Mario, Spikes, Dareus, and Bradham never quit. They just kept playing for 4 quarters. Same with Woods, and Hogan. Players such as FJ and KW always do this. My point? I praise this team for going all out despite the loss. 5) On the first drive of the 3rd qtr., we rushed 3 on a 3rd and 9. This was a stupid move by Schwartz, and I was screaming this as the play was setting up. They made the first down and scored a TD on the following play. 6) I dropped four flights and cracked my spine, Honey come quick with the iodine. Catch a few winks down, under the bed; Then head back to Tennessee, Jed Tennessee, Tennessee, There ain't no place I'd, rather be Baby won't you carry me...... Back to Tennessee. 7) I think that we might just have a new weapon in Chris Hogan. It looks like Orton is able to utilize him too. This is good news on a dismal day. 8) A special shout-out to Bradham.....it is obvious how much he want to win football games. He truly is a pleasure to watch. 9) Schwartz reminds me of Jauron. The Pats OL didn't impress me, but he rarely pressured them. Imo, Schwartz employed a play not to lose philosophy. He was the biggest contributor in this loss today. If Petine was still here, we would have won. Schwartz sucked THAT bad. He was a flat out disaster. 10) Our OL wasn't THAT bad today from where I sat. Glenn DID get schooled by Jones on the play immediately after the deuce, but this is rare. 11) I have been accused of being too tough on Spiller. I am embarrassed to admit that against my better judgment, I backed off a bit. Those days are gone. CJ Spiller is a liability to this football team. He is virtually useless. He needs to be benched imo. Yes, BENCHED!!!!! We can comb through his stats and pretend that he is good, but he is not. 12) Orton, despite the OK stats, looked more rusty than he did last week. Wrt the pick to start the 2nd qtr., he had all day to throw. That said, he still blows EJ away. 13) The fact that the Jets and Dolphins lost does offer us hope. Bills Fans DO deserve hope. 14) Robert Woods is another player who really does want to win football games. I admire his effort and courage. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. 2nd or 3rd might be a reach, but this is an absolutely great point that you make!
  12. Police use discretion and for many reasons. Here ya go..... 1) It isn't good to alienate any community when you don't have to. 2) It can help to keep a cop from getting killed. 3) The crime committed vs. the fallout might not be worth the trouble. 4) Your supervisors might want you to. Bro, the list is endless. Judges do what they want. Think about the mere premise of a bench warrant if you will. If a judge issues one against you, guess who is going to be handcuffed and brought before the bench? Yep, that's how it works. Now, how about the charge of Criminal Contempt Of Court? If the judge says that you personally are in contempt, guess who is in contempt? No jury needed mind you. The judge might let AP slide. Who knows? I get the feeling that you want him to because it's because of the fact that the term that he broke was smoking weed. No problem. I hope that the judge puts AP in jail because he, imo, is a scumbag and a piece of garbage. You however are very cool.
  13. It IS absurd, but not for the reasons that you mention. Spiller is a situational running back who is no longer young. He is all but one dimensional, whereas he can occasionally break a long one. The list of things he cannot do (including score touchdowns on any consistent level) is far longer. Additionally, his contract is almost up. Toss in the fact that good running backs can be acquired as late round picks and he is all but worthless in terms of trade value. The Bills are better off keeping him around for this season and hoping for any production than letting him go for a 7th round pick.
  14. I don't know how much time you have spent in court, nor am I asking. What I WILL tell you is that judges don't ASK people to do things. They issue terms and orders. I have seen people arrested for using foul language and drinking a beer in their own homes because this was in violation of a Family Court Order of Protection. Feel free not to believe this. Trust me, an "Average Joe" would get his or her ass kicked in court for not abiding by the terms that a judge sets. Once again, they dictate policy and are not asking people to do things. And, they don't have to bow to policies (such as marijuana legalization) that some people feel are "progressive." If you never listen to another word I say, trust me on this.....if you disobey a judge, you WILL lose. Being a judge is the best job in the USA. THE best job.
  15. Dean, no need for a witch hunt. The witch is in the room. He beat his kids, one until his testicles were bleeding. Let's not forget his prior incident at he club, on which he of course blamed the police. My hope is that he is punished to the full extent of the law for this, and every other crime he commits and worry not, there will be more. The real shame is that this cretin is getting paid.
  16. This is a rare occasion in which I am not quite sure I agree with you. In these parts, NYC Police Officers earn approx. $50,000.00 less per year than suburban cops who do a literal fraction of the work. NYC Police Officers take WAY more political and physical risks. It is a better life to be a police officer in Old Brookville, NY or in NYC? Who really WINS Badol? That said, Mario, from what I can see, gives it his all on virtually every down. It is clear to me that he cares big time about winning football games. His salary is sick, but he earns it imo. He makes the players around him better and he plays hurt. Imo if the Bills make the playoffs this season, Mario will be a huge reason. If he gets hurt, our chances are bleak, or so I see it. I think that Mario is a true professional, and one of the greatest players in the history of the franchise.
  17. Yes, and how great is the originality of his screen names? Kelly's Arm, Marino's Arm, Elway's Arm would be trite, unimaginative names imo.
  18. Darin, these contracts are not so expensive now with the new CBA.
  19. Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your dad, and I pray that he has a speedy and total recovery.
  20. Yes, we need guards. I said before the season that Pears is not a guard. He is a brute strength RT. Period. As for the defense, this game tells us that we might even have some depth up front. This is very encouraging. Yes I did and it bordered on cowardice. Granted it was a huge defender, but he was in a position to make a block and it looked as if all he did was lean his shoulder in there. That was an awful play.
  21. Yeah, I don't know how he does it. Seriously. I truly hope to see this football team make the playoffs. If they do, I'm coming up!
  22. Thanks and I forgot to credit Leodis for taking out Johnson. Once more..... GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. 1) Gotta start with a shout out to Carpenter. That kick was miraculous! Just freaking great!!!!! And it had a few yards left! 2) In the middle of the 3rd quarter, Watkins was mauled by the defender. The flag was tossed by the official who was RIGHT THERE and picked up. Is that how this works? The league should look into this. I HATE complaining about calls, but this was simply outrageous. Sadly, more to come on this topic. 3) Marcel Dareus played the game of his life. On his sack for a forced fumble, he was clearly held. Today, this kid was every single thing we wanted him to be in every way. 4) Here is the deal wrt Pears. He is an average Right Tackle. He doesn't suck at RT. He has no business playing Guard. NONE! But he retaliated on the late hit by Fairley, and he is a tough guy. I respect him for fighting for his teammates. 5) Help on the way, I know only this; I've got you today Don't fly away..... 'cause I love what I love and I want it that way. 6) Watkins was just SO good today, I am going to re-evaluate the trade, which I was totally against. 7) Orton? I need more time to sort out what he does. We probably all do. But his pass to Goodwin was each and every bit as good as it gets, no? 8) Woods was blocking his ass off today. He threw a block on a run by FJ in the 3rd quarter that MADE the play. 9) Schwartz was another person who confused me today. At the end of the first qtr., they rushed only 3 on 3rd and 8 and gave up a td. I KNOW that Pettine would have applied more pressure. That said, his defensive calls overall were VERY good imo. Let's face it, the defense kept us in the game, so I am going to give credit and thanks. 10) Have I blasted Gilmore when I saw fit to do so? Certainly. Well, the pass interference call against him in the 2nd quarter was absolute BS!!!!! If anything, Johnson hit him in his facemask. The truth is that he played a decent game today and this football team needs him to step up. I am thrilled to see him play well. 11) OK, I have a confession to make. I watched the game today in a crowded place. After one of Marcel's brutal sacks I yelled, "He's my son!" People were looking at me and the replay and gave me some room and strange looks. Yeah, I am a Bills fan. 12) Sorry, I am pissed at the fact that we had 2 delay penalties in the first quarter. We are not a good enough team to do this and win on a consistent basis. 13) Spiller was awful today. He can't see a hole. He dances and gains 2, if that. 14) Thank you Jerry Hughes for giving it your all on every play!!!!! Seriously, you go!!! 15) There is nothing that grabs me more than when the Bills fight back. Not one f*&^%$g thing. It makes them better people, better players, and it is what WE deserve as fans. 16) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 17) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Absolutely! In a similar thread, one poster commented that watching Jerman he was afraid that someone might get killed out there. I literally felt this as well. A good play for this poor guy was getting shoved to the ground. On bad plays, he was pancaked, trampled, and the qb was demolished. I miss Lori posting here. Once I asked her if I was seeing things or was this really happening with Jerman. Needless to say, she affirmed that the above was really happening.
