Football Outsiders 2018 Projections
Bill from NYC replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with all of the above except the bolded. The day of the 2006 draft I said that the team would be destroyed for many years. I know that they got Kyle Williams in the 5th, but that draft was pathetic, and they even traded up to take a horrible DE. The worst part of that draft was the fact that they passed on a slew of players who truly would have helped them. And btw, passing on Mahomes and Watson to draft a corner also reminds me of Jauron. -
McBeane's way of rebuilding makes no sense
Bill from NYC replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, looking at him, he resembles a pass rushing OLB/Hybrid DE than a MLB, at least he did to me. He looks like a stud and I obviously do hope that he does pan out. I am not criticizing this selection at all John. I'm pissed at McDermott for other glaringly obvious reasons. -
WR Will be Toughest Position to Fix
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BB, is there a player that you like enough to draft if we do (and I am not saying that we definitely will) pick first? I would be really very tempted to trade down to a team that wants a qb. We would be set up with early round picks for years and be able to draft some monsters up front and at WR. -
McBeane's way of rebuilding makes no sense
Bill from NYC replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I respectfully, but vehemently disagree. I don't even think that in today's game MLB is the 4th most important position. In the old days, running was far more important than it is now. You couldn't run on some of these great MLBs Shaw. Larry Czonka called Willie Lanier a "grizzly bear with a brain." Dick Butkis would injure people. Jack Lambert, Mike Curtis, Ray Lewis…..the list goes on and on. Today, MLBs spend the bulk of their time in coverage. I LOVE a good ground game but right now it is of less importance. Imo, OTs and pass rushing DEs are worth far more than MLBs. Even guards are being drafted earlier these days. Guys are going to break my shoes for saying this (oh and I totally deserve it lol) but safeties are growing in importance. Now, if a MLB is GREAT, sure he will make a big difference but.....it's a passing league now. -
Who Starts At QB For Week 2? (Poll)
Bill from NYC replied to Paulus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The above is a great post but McDermott didn't have to keep Peterman, let alone start him, but he did. Again, even after last season. In numerous posts since the game (not yours!) I read over and over how us fans don't know much about football and the 32 coaches and 32 GMs are the experts. It SHOULD be that way!!! These guys are getting paid millions and worked their way up, however; I think that most high school age fans would have known NOT to start Peterman. I just don't know how to explain this move. Jmo. -
As well he should. We are going to need a lot of high picks to draft WRs, OTs, and pass rushing DEs. Unless Allen suffers a very serious injury, they won't need a qb but someone will and they will be willing to pay dearly. We could stockpile early picks for at least 2 years. Ya see, I ain't all about being negative.

Mississippi has a very dangerous offense. They are said to have problems on defense but imo we need our defense to step up. I would like to see more pass rush. Check out #9 on defense! I am hoping for 300 yards on the ground from our collection of RBs.

With Peterman at QB and horrible play from the OL and DL, how much difference did our "good" defensive backs make?

Was there a solid plan on the QB after Tyrod left?
Bill from NYC replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McCarron isn't great but he is 10x better than Peterman. So is Tyrod. As much as I want the top pick in next year's draft, coaches should be trying to win football games. I want to see the Bills win. Btw, if handled properly (gigantic IF) a #1 pick in 2019 could set this team up for several years. -

A professional football coach is supposed to know that although he isn't Tom Brady, McCarron is better than Peterman, who seems like a nice guy but might be the worst qb in the history of the NFL. -

Bills vs. Ravens Postgame ?
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that Tyrod and McCarron are clearly superior to Peterman. This was my opinion before this game. I don't really think that he belongs in the league. Somebody made the decision to keep Peterman, get rid of 2 better qbs, and trade the best blocker on the team that already had lost their left guard. Then they decided that he should start. This scenario would seem to be almost unthinkable to me. I think that a 14 year old kid with Directv and a couple of Sports Illustrated Magazines could have made better football decisions. I guess Josh has to go in. Is there any choice? Now I will watch games hoping he doesn't get killed behind the putrid OL that was foolishly neglected. -

I place the blame directly on the shoulders of McDermott and his plagiarized "process." Let's place the following 3 quarterbacks in order of who is better: Tyrod Peterman McCarron McDermott never should have put Peterman in.....LAST YEAR. When he did, it resulted what may have been the worst performance in NFL history. He didn't throw AS many picks today because defenders dropped the slippery, wet balls thrown right at them. McDermott got rid of 2 clearly superior quarterbacks and played a sub-par college level quarterback. I can't think of any acceptable excuse to play Peterman. This is cruel to the players on the team and painful the fans. Process? Yeah, sure. -
If you hate the Bills why are you here?

Just a warning.....although I have had a few hits at the qb position, I have been wrong on numerous occasions. I am the guy who thought that Rob Johnson was going to be actually great. -
2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
That would be a shame because we need receivers and the blocking would seem to be atrocious. -
Are you old enough to remember Marcus Spriggs or Greg Jerman? Jerman was SO bad at left tackle that I actually was worried about someone getting killed on the field.

Flushing has a commercial strip on 164th Street, then again; my guess is that you already knew this.

The year Levitre left it was said that he had a bad year. If he did, I strongly suspect that it was due to injury. Levitre was an excellent guard. As you might recall, I liked him in college. AL was made for the "new" passing game. He was more of a finesse blocker than a road paver and (imo) was at his best at pass protection. He played left tackle in college and didn't let us down at all on the Bills. I blew my cork when the Bills let him walk and from what I remember he wanted to stay here. And people wonder why I beat to death the Bills lack of regard for blocking! We looked OK last year on the OL (although I do wonder how much of this was because of Tyrod) and now just look at the mess we face yet again. We absolutely have to find blockers in 2019.

Are you sure the address in Flushing isn't 165th Pl.? I am thinking that 65th Pl. is too far west Jack. EDIT: Jack, I looked it up and it is in Maspeth, not Flushing. Maspeth is in Western Queens and is actually closer to the OP than is Flushing.
