  1. Sorry if it seems like I am ducking the question, but I have seen him run all of the above. He was also good at utilizing a running qb but we shouldn't read much into that. Remember, Coach Saban likes to keep opponents at 3rd and long, and then force mistakes and pounce on them and again, I believe he put heavy pressure on Daboll to keep things conservative. He even got angry at him in the Clemson game for 2 incomplete passes in the 4th quarter when he thought that Daboll should be killing the clock. In the Championship Game, Coach Saban had no choice and had to turn Daboll loose. He (imo) put on a coaching clinic. At one point there were 6 freshmen on the field on offense. 6 FRESHMEN, and look what happened!!!! Daboll was schooled by the best and will be superb, or so I say.
  2. Coach Saban can adapt, but he is primarily an old fashioned coach. He likes to run on offense and on defense he believes in stopping the run before stopping the pass. I think that having Kiffen as Offensive Coordinator caused Coach Saban some nervous frustration because Lane was WAY more into the passing game than he was. . I can't prove it and obviously have no inside info but I strongly believe that Daboll was ordered to focus more on the run when he was brought in. That said, he called some very interesting pass plays, this with Jalen Hurts as QB. I predict that Daboll will bring a strong, well balanced offense to Buffalo. As a lifelong Crimson Tide Fan I am very sorry to see him go. As a Bills Fan I am thrilled to have him in Buffalo, and I do mean thrilled. I strongly suspect he will silence the critics, except for perhaps the most chronic of jealous haters. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hard to imagine why.....:)
  4. I am guessing that both Alabama and Georgia will be clearly superior but that's just me.
  5. I was utterly pleased with Daboll. He has spent a long time with Bellichick, and now Saban. He's used to strong head coaches and showed me how well he can adapt. Remember, Saban did NOT want another pass happy Lane Kiffen. Daboll was under pressure to be more conservative and was successful. And I hate to admit it but Hurts did very little to progress as a passer this year, and he had plenty of weapons, trust me. Obviously, the team still performed well. Whether he stays on at Bama or comes to the Bills, I have full confidence in him. It's a win-win situation for me and I'm certain that you will like him.
  6. Isaiah Buggs returning to University of Alabama.
  7. No surprises there. It's going to be very hard to replace Payne, who I wish would drop to the Bills for an immediate impact imo. Btw, I saw that Damien Harris is staying. Thanks SO much for the updates!
  8. RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next year they will be a MUCH better offensive team despite losing Ridley and Scarborough. Not even close. On defense, they lose a pair if great safeties and DT Payne in the middle. This is a concern but the pass rush should also improve.
  9. ROLL TIDE ROLL BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. If you mean it thanks! I really am just so freaking thrilled. BB, this was perhaps their 7th or 8th best team in the 11 years of Saban. This was his best coaching job by far. Without major injuries, next years team will be much better. Seriously.
  11. Do you have a local crying room?
  12. Step down hater, step down!!! Time for a mood coloring book?
  13. Yeah, OK!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. No doubt, especially as a pro prospect. Hurts truly might not be the best QB on Alabama. If he was injured (God forbid) on the first play of the game, it might not matter all that much. Have you seen Tua play? That said, what separates Hurts from a freshman is how cool and calm he is. I have seen every one of his games and he never gets rattled. The kid doesn't panic and is Derek Jeter cool. Last week he was asked by a reporter what he did in the city of New Orleans before the game. His answer was "Nothing." Trust me BB, it was a business trip for this kid. I have stated ad nauseam that this Alabama team isn't as good as the previous 2 and they could easily lose this game. Kirby Smart is a great coach but you might want to look at Coach Saban's record against ex-assistants. It's pretty good. I wouldn't bet the farm on UGA, but that's just me.
  15. I'm guessing that you said the same thing about Clemson, and that the SEC was no longer any good. Am I close? The truth is that Ga. and the Crimson Tide are about equal this season, and the Tide is once again a little dinged up. That said, a freshman qb against Coach Saban really isn't such a safe bet. Also, Coach Saban is 10-0 in Atlanta. It matters that Bama usually doesn't beat themselves, and most of the team has been there before. We will find out soon enough. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. His personality might have to be toned down in the NFL. Jmo.
  17. Was it THAT bad when they destroyed your favorite team?
  18. Every single sportscaster I listened to today predicted that the National Championship Game bound University of Alabama Crimson Tide was going to lose. Well, it's time once again for all jealous haters to step down because the Tide once again did prevail. The Bills are in the playoffs!!!! The Crimson Tide are in the Championship game!!!! GO BILLS AND ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. That is my point. If the Bills do advance in the playoffs (not an impossibility mind you), I think that Tyrod may stay. Think about what happened when Peterman was brought in. We at TBD are the diehard fans but what would this board be like after another Petersman disaster or 2? Maybe I'm wrong, and there are parts of TT's game that are tough to defend, but I don't know if I can think of a precedent of a team dumping their playoff qb, in his prime. If they lose to Jax I suppose anything can happen.
  20. On that note, does it buy credit for Tyrod?
  21. SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Agreed. He has only lost a couple of games in his entire life. And I like the fact that he has been sitting on the sidelines and learning. He's a very smart kid. If the Bills go with our plan, there would be no rush to toss the rookie in there. He could sit behind McCarron and learn. Another bonus would be to keep the extra picks and bolster both lines.
  23. If McCarron wins his grievance and is a UFA, I am in favor of signing him AND drafting a qb. My draft selection at this very early stage is Mayfield but this may change, and I wouldn't want to trade an excessive amount of picks to move up. Please, let's not give away the store ala Whaley!!!
  24. Oh, White is a very good player. I think that he is already superior to Gilmore, but imo he was a poor choice. We traded our pick and we could have instead drafted Deshaun Watson. Then, we made how many other moves in the secondary? This was his obvious priority. This rings of Jauron ball to me. There are things to like about McDermott, but my fear is that he is a play "not to lose" type of coach. It doesn't work. Never has and never will.
