  1. I think I might settle for a swap of 9 for 24, along with a 2nd round pick and a 3rd round pick this year and a #1 next year.
  2. Thanks, that was great research! Do you happen to know how the defenses that Clemson and Alabama faced were ranked? These things confuse me too. Army, top 30? I suppose that a lot of factors contribute to this such as TOP but I can't say I know for sure. Do you consider these ratings to be accurate?
  3. They did.....with a different quarterback. Do you like Hurts as much as Murray? And this Alabama defense, while very talented, lost a huge number of very good to excellent players to the NFL. It will happen again as it does almost every season but I think that the 2019 defense has the potential to be better than the one in 2018 by a considerable margin. What you saw this month was not an ordinary defense by Alabama standards.
  4. Doc, there were much better players at skill positions when he was there, and Saban used to favor the running game.
  5. It wouldn't surprise me. Does Oklahoma play even 1 team with a decent defense? I wish him well but his transfer was expected and might even help the team in an ideal setting. They have 2 incoming freshmen at the qb position, both of whom have big time credentials. It would be great to see them get some playing time in 2019.
  6. They also could have selected Watson who still might turn out to be an excellent QB. Instead, they traded away the pick and drafted a cornerback. What is there really to dispute?
  7. I see your point to a large degree. Guards are usually not drafted so early but then they are, they are often good picks. Reuben Brown, David De Castro, Nelson, Branden Albert, and Steve Hutchinson come immediately to mind. Good coaching helps a lot, but our OL either stayed the same or got worse with Mouse McNally if you recall. And, high quality blocking almost never comes in a trade (unless you are getting them from the Bills) and rarely comes from free agency. I am not saying that they all need to be top 10 picks but the draft IS the place to get good, solid blockers.
  8. Have a great day!!!
  9. Good stats. I would like to see those numbers for the teams that made the playoffs.
  10. Safety Deionte Thompson is declaring for the draft. Not that anybody should care but before the draft, I will offer opinions of all the draft eligible players from Alabama. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2807268-alabama-safety-deionte-thompson-officially-declares-for-2019-nfl-draft
  11. Do you also fully absolve Ralph?
  12. Sure Joe. Levy had nothing to do with it.
  13. Maybe you should just ignore me. I'm not sure but I think I will survive.
  14. What do you think he should say Joe? Andre was a great wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, right? He is watching the best player in the NFL destroy competition. McDermott handed said player to the Chiefs and drafted a cornerback. Why don't you let us know exactly what Andre Reed should say.
  15. Daboll also might have helped out a bit by bringing Foster on board.
  16. It's amazing what this kid went through. Living in cars and welfare hotels after his mom abandoned the family. This kid was no 5 star recruit either. I watched him his entire career and he just kept getting better at really every category. And, he is a mellow kid, a complete gentleman or so it seems. As sad as I am to see him leave Bama I am happy for him and hope he makes millions of dollars. Hopefully, #1 recruit Trey Sanders will fill his shoes. This kid is already predicting that he will win the Heisman or "at least be a finalist." Saban will have to calm his a** down.
  17. Jacobs will be great as an all purpose back. He is a quality receiver and would be a huge asset to Allen.
  18. CB Trevon Diggs is returning to Bama for his senior year. He is an excellent player who was out this season due to injury.
  19. I am not sure why so many folks don't understand the above. Certainly Whaley had input. Did he have authority over McDermott? No way.
  20. DE Raekwon Davis has announced that he will return to Alabama. Frankly, his numbers fell this season and he looked a bit slower. I think that he has tons of talent and his decision will help the Crimson Tide and make him more money as is often the case with Bama players. His decision imo was brave and intelligent and I wish him complete success. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2807101-dl-raekwon-davis-to-forego-2019-nfl-draft-return-to-alabama-for-senior-season Absolutely! Same here!
  21. I only predict Texas because his family lives there. In terms of Locksley, you raise a great point but remember, Locksley was his 3rd OC at Alabama.
  22. I believe he would go in round 1. How do you think he would fare in the NFL? I think that he has enough enough talent, but I don't know if his body could hold up at his size. As a Bills Fan, I hope he declares. It might give us a better chance of trading down. Are defenders doing the same?
  23. You are right Yolo and I apologize. Frankly I couldn't quite fathom a person not thinking that Tua is a splendid qb but yes, we are certainly entitled to our opinions. Seriously, sorry about that.
  24. It was a matter of time. I am thankful that he stayed this year. I predict Texas.
