Great post!!! The first link is 100% on the money, and I have been saying this for weeks. There will be 3 receivers coming out of Alabama next season that range from very good to excellent. This is only 1 school mind you. The 2020 draft will be chock full of talent at skill positions, to the point that I hope that we trade down and pick up an extra 1st for next year.

I want an offensive lineman, but not Dillard. The PAC 12 is weak at the OL and DL positions. My fear is that he will crumble when going up against pros, like the guy who had the problems with Incog. The Bills could probably trade down (hopefully into 2020) and find a high quality blocker late in round 1. That said, I doubt if they go in this direction, although it makes 100% sense to get better protection for Allen, who might be the face of this franchise for a decade or more. Yeah, I am thinking they will grab the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th DL selected. And laugh if you will, but Greedy Williams (probably after a trade down) would not shock me. Not one bit.

I think that you have me confused with someone else. Do tell me when I ever heaped praise upon Beane, or especially McDermott. Imo both need to prove themselves. I will say that imo Beane is far more disciplined than Whaley ever thought about being. You otoh are way more forgiving than I am in terms of the Bills. You have actually praised Jauron as a coach which to me is unthinkable. I'm not sure what you thought of Levy as a GM. Now, Whaley is this great GM? Yikes!!!!! Where are their job offers CB? We both know that they are non-existent. I think that if I took stances like you I would probably be a happier person in general, but I just don't have it in me to proclaim that franchise killers such as Jauron, Levy (as GM) and Whaley were any good at their jobs. That said, the dialogue is fun.

I understand your point. Mine is that because you can point out a few players that he drafted who are "good" and a nice trade or 2 also is not proof that Whaley was a good GM. He was undisciplined, traded away our best picks, gave out ridiculous contracts, and neglected vital areas of the team to include quarterback. He did however dress extremely well. The man had superb tastes in suits.

Yeah, he was an awful choice. Even as a Crimson Tide Fan I was against that pick. I said at the time that there were at least three, but possibly all 4 starters on the Alabama line that were better than him, plus he was hurt. I wish it could have worked out for him because despite the rather serious problem he had, he seemed to be a really nice kid.

Daniel Jones is getting good articles written about him in these parts. I have not seen enough of him to really form a pertinent opinion but from what little I have seen, I consider him to be a legit prospect. He might be a better QB than Lock in time.

Whitner in 2006 was perhaps the dumbest pick I ever saw and I mean ever, but; the question was from 2010 so I am going to run with Spiller. Nice guy, but he was barely able to understand plays. He was an undersized part time player in college and although some draft "experts" had him rated high, the kid was a 4th round pick at best. Not enough? They put him behind an OL that sucked. I have said many times that Bills Fans are the best. It really is true. It is SO easy to be a fan of some teams, and every team does make mistakes. That said, the Bills drafts have been so bad they were actually painful sometimes. Please, can we have a good one tomorrow?????!!!!!

So what? What difference does this make when there was the lack of a quarterback to get him the ball. Mortgaging the future and drafting Watkins was equal to putting a complete new roof on a house with a crumbling foundation. The Bills needed a quarterback and blockers. Watkins was a ridiculous pick considering what the Bills had and what they gave up. Jmo.

Agreed. Bills Fans are a little burned out from Parrish and Spiller. Gadget players are a bad place to devote precious resources.

I sincerely hope that you are correct. That draft will be chock full of wide receivers. I have probably seen every play of Quinnen's career. The kid can play, and he is a seemingly wonderful kid. Do I think that he is a legit #2? He might be, but not for the Bills to give up a 1st in 2020. I would rather trade down and get another one for that matter. And btw, call me crazy but I think that there is a 10% or so chance that we can get him at #9.

I completely acknowledge your point, but I do not want the Buffalo Bills to serve as a farm team for other franchises, to include New England. Gilmore sure did play harder and better on the pats than he did on the Bills, no? Imo, the draft is the best tool for building a winning football team. A foundation must be built this way. Trading away all those picks for a receiver was just stupid when you have no quarterback and so-so blocking at best. I do not enjoy watching Bills draftees winning games for other teams. We have a quarterback now. I really do hope that we get him some blocking and offensive weapons so we can win football games.
