With out TOP, this could be a blowout. Their D must be wearing down. Which is why that Heinicke pick is the most terrible thing to happen to them. Esp given the field position -

Mahomes’ Brother Pours Water On Ravens Fans
Fan in Chicago replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What an idiot. He needs to realize that fame - both earned and reflected - cuts both ways. He will get attention and privileges being Patrick's brother but that same attention will get you featured in such videos. I looked JacksonM up to see if he has done anything positive by himself and came up with nothing. So besides being PM's brother, dude is a nobody -

What happens if Tua Doesn’t Get Hurt?
Fan in Chicago replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope. They way the D was playing yesterday, we would still thump them -
Setting aside the fact that the Bills got out-schemed in Week 1, the D players on the Steelers side are really good. They can really impact an opposing offense. BenR has adjusted to his advancing age/robocop body quite adequately. It will be interesting to see how his arm and shoulder hold up as the season wears on. They will need to go run-heavy but they evidently did not do so yesterday with Harris getting only 10 carries. If Tomlin does not change the run-pass ratio, their season will drop off at the half way mark But, they dont suck. If I were to provide you a reference team for suckiness, Jets is the first candidate.

Picking up Edmunds Option a Rare Beane Mistake
Fan in Chicago replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is pretty damning if we are discussing this in his fourth year in the league. He was picked pretty high, he should have been impactful in year 3 , latest. I was very much against picking up his option and wanted to see how he performed this season. I think he has the size needed, lacks smarts and instincts. I don't know the cap implications, but he should be traded at the end of this season. I will be glad to be proven wrong if he suddenly starts playing well. -
The D played a fantastic game but the O really put this game out of reach early in the second half. Imo, the 3rd TD was a solid drive which corrected the mistakes from the first half and conveyed the message that "when we get our sh** together we will score TDs at will". I grant you that the first half was concerning coming as it did on the heels of the Steelers game (in which the D did more than enough for us to win but the O and ST let the team down) The tests will come against the Pats** and Bucs but today's was a solid performance for the D and O (second half)

Unfortunately I don't have recording privileges for Sunday Ticket else I would have gone back and watched a few of his plays. As for the DE position, I didn't see too many plays from AJE given the pre season stories around him being more effective now. For now, we have to primarily feature Addison and Hughes until Rousseau comes into his own
-
Is that a problem with Hughes or the refs? Not trying to be an a$$ but wondering if you feel that his style of play lends itself to being neutralized easily by opposing OL.

Was Daboll stubborn and did not want to adapt per Pittsburgh's D strategy or did he know but didn't have the personnel to execute or he didn't know how to adapt? I have no way to know. I would like honor his intelligence and believe that he knew how to counter but was stubborn enough to not change. McD has to step in mid-game and force Daboll to adjust. I really worry that such stubbornness may hurt us in the playoffs when it is win-or-go-home.
-
I have said in other threads responding to people saying (cringe) "calm down". This is the fourth game in a row which our O has been limited. Only improvement since playoffs was in the D. This is not just one game. Its the fourth. In. A row. That's a fact. Why again should we be calm besides your expectations which are only projections? It's entirely okay to be a bit nervous until we prove that the O will come up to 2020 regular season form.

Losing to the Steelers was a blessing in disguise
Fan in Chicago replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I shouldn't be concerned but the feeling is growing. This was the fourth game in a row they looked underwhelming. I can go with "it's a new season" and think that the loss hurts most as it's the first game of the season. But I am now very nervous for next week as Dolphins have a decent D as well -
Normally that refrain makes sense. But think about the last four games the Bills have played. Have you, at any point during those games, thought that they were unstoppable? Did yesterday's game give you confidence that McD, Daboll have a plan to counter what we saw against the Chiefs, Colts? This is much more than a single game. It is a pattern of poor O execution against stout front 4s. It is poor scheming and adjusting on the coordinator's parts. Its McD not doing enough to make his coordinators change their stubborn habits

McDermott Game Day Decision Making
Fan in Chicago replied to BillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
O was getting it's rear kicked in so some risk taking was required. I don't particularly have a problem with McD's in game calls. My biggest issue is him delegating too much of the game planning and in-game adjustments to his OC and DC. Last year, when the D was struggling, he did not step in to help Frazier. In what is now becoming a pattern, Daboll has shown an inability to adjust and counter what the opposing D is doing. McD has to step in and tell Daboll "remember how we have plans for different D styles? Well Brian use the alternative NOW".
