  1. Care to elaborate ? Thaler is a professor who is very well respected in the economics and behavioral field. The points he makes in this article are very good. What is yours ?
  2. Considering we are discussing Whit here, answering your question is difficult.
  3. I argue the 'NER' was not required
  4. Not officially but sure plenty on this board still cling to those hopes. As you and I know, none of his coaches have so far known how to best make use of him.
  5. What if he really gets traded ? Who will believe the news then ?
  6. Good one and you made me click on your post. Realized I have been suckered when I saw no link.
  7. So you want me to not offer my opinions on any signing ? Is that it ?
  8. Add Chad Jackson and we have one proven good, one proven not-so-good, and four unproven. Man, I hate those odds.
  9. Sorry to hear about the loss. Prayers to all and good wishes especially to your son.
  10. I agree with your post almost in its entirety. The only small difference is that in some situations, picking a good skill player may be justified. That is if the team is set on the lines and the QB position. However, we are not (ofcourse) and hence this is not a year we should use high picks on skill players.
  11. I highly doubt any team will give up its first pick for McNabb. As for the 49ers, if they acquire McNabb it will be tantamount to having given up on Alex Smith once and for all. I do agree with the article that the Eagles may have lost leverage due to the public knowledge that he is being shopped around. Now they pretty much have to take what they can get unless it becomes a bidding war.
  12. Curious why you have us taking a guard in Rd 2 as opposed to the tackle that we need. Also, waiting late in the draft for a NT bothers me cos we need one to start right away. We cannot afford a project for NT. The counter question I would ask is why would we take use our high draft pick for a player (Spiller) who is not a position of need ? No matter how good he is, his value to the team is lower than if we spent it on a solid OT/NT. If the ones we want are gone by the time we pick, we should consider trading down. I am really really against spending a high draft pick on a RB yet again in such a short time span (McGahee, Lynch)
  13. I thought by the wording of your post that you were implying people do not respond to census takers and hence the govt. has to send out multiple reminders. If thats what you meant, I don't think multiple reminders will make this segment of the population will respond in proportion to the number of reminders.
  14. Hurt my feelings ? I did not bring my feelings in this conversation purely my opinion which says (1) McNabb is a big game choker (2) is on the down side of his career (3) is not worth more than a 4th, or a 3rd at best (4) Won't be anything more than a stop-gap measure (5) (if true) he does not want to be here. I stand by my post in that no matter what the circumstances were around Kelly's arrival in Buffalo, he was a young QB with potential. McNabb is not. We may differ in our opinion, but my opinion is not poorer just because you don't agree with it.
  15. Let me re-phrase that - I have a problem with the Bills acquiring him. Clear ?
  16. And you think that four mailings will change their behavior ?
  17. Kelly ? He was young with lots of potential. McNabb is towards the end of his career, has proven he can underperform. I am on record as saying I would not mind him coming here for a 4th or lower as a stop-gap measure. But that was before I read this. In addition to his underwhelming credentials, his desire to play for a playoff ready team tells me he isn't entirely sure he can lift a team above the level of its talent. I am not sure he will play with heart if he comes here as a last option.
  18. "However, one source with knowledge of McNabb’s interests said the 11-year veteran would favor a trade to a team with a contending roster, such as the Arizona Cardinals – a franchise that isn’t currently in the mix for his services." Still want him ? I have other reasons to be against his coming to Buffalo but if the above is true, then I sure as hell don't want him here except to receive an a$$ kicking whenever his new team plays in Buffalo.
  19. Interesting that you mention it because these reminders and notices raise the question of total cost of these mailings. To date, I received: a notice that the census form was coming, the form itself and a postcard reminder. In addition, my local government sent two notices asking me to make sure I fill out the census form. So five mailings in all.
  20. The supervillain will always capture the superspy and give him a rundown of his plans and a chance to escape. The suddenly dumb villain could instead have just shot the poor sap right away.
  21. Phew - if they had three 6th's they would have been able to draft a few more Tom Bradys. Imagine that
  22. I can't tell if that is a statement of your observational skills or the quality of the other boards.
  23. Thanx. Hope we land this beef for the line.
