  1. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...61-5683a7af1400 Cortez - QB coach DeHaven - ST Hixon - Receivers Keep White - Defensive QC
  2. Somewhere, JP Losman is feeling very jealous
  3. From what little I know of meningitis, it certainly is very very serious (I lost my only brother to it over 40 years ago). Prayers and good wishes for his speedy recovery,

  5. So you prefer this board to intellectually discuss politics ?
  6. You make some good points. I think the argument that the drafted QB can be a bust holds true in either situation - whether or not we get McNabb. If he is a bust, we will not find out till year 2 or 3 or whenever McNabb is done. By that time, we will have built an overall good team, McNabb's career would be done and we will have a big hole at the most important position. In the other scenario, if we draft a QB, he starts NOW and he is a bust, we will still have time to salvage the situation as the rest of the team is built. But the long term potential of a decent QB is huge. My point is that if we think a can't -miss prospect is available in the draft, take him. We do however have to prioritize shoring up the OL this year. If we don't, then we should keep the QB on the bench and let the serviceable guy keep us going. Bringing McNabb behind a suspect line is marginally better than this situation, I agree, but we lose out the draft pick we give up for him. Now if we are likely to get him for a 4th rounder or lower, then perhaps there is a case to be made (which is what you said in the last line also) So, in summary, I think we need to look to boost the OL for sure. And if we manage to do that, getting a QB in the earlier rounds may be a good idea.
  7. Welcome back to the football discussions, Dean
  8. Dear Lord ! Please let the Rams have him.
  9. Amen to that. Along with building an elite team, notice how the players are generally devoid of controversy or self promotion. Not saying that it is entirely due to Polian, but the players he helped choose sure fit in the mold of that classy organization.
  10. I believe he was with the Broncos when they traded for Elway. Just some food for thought. Not sure how the rest of his personnel decisions played out
  11. Thanx for the link. ---------------------------------------- We asked if Reeves would be open to working with Gailey in Buffalo. "I tell you, if I could help Chan Gailey out, I would certainly be interested in that." ---------------------------------------- Very interesting... And Wiki is already updated with this tidbit ------------------------------- Reeves is reportedly interested in returning to coaching for the 2010 season as a part of Chan Gailey's staff with the Buffalo Bills. -------------------------------
  12. I just look the other way and don't care who 'nevergiveup' really is. Why look a gift horse in the mouth ?
  13. I thought you were implying that Edwards said good things about Gailey because he wanted Gailey to get the job. Your example made it sound that way
  14. You shouldn't be cutting and posting full articles here. In any case, I agree the choice of DC is very important. I want a DC who is flexible. It is unlikely that, if we are switching from the Cover-2, then we will get all the required personnel for the new scheme all in one year. We may have to run a hybrid scheme this year with what we have and acquire then shift to a full version of the 3-4 or 4-3. So, an inflexible guy will not make it work this year. By the way • Offensive line: Gailey's position coach in Dallas was Hudson Houck (I am sure I am the first one to snicker at this name, absolutely the first)
  15. Save for the bit where Gailey was doing neither when Herm spoke
  16. If one were to step back and see this situation, it is apparent that no matter who you believe, it is clear that Schotty Sr. did NOT turn the Bills down as the 'Bills FO sucks' crowd were screaming about. Also, Nix's story checks out with Schotty's statements - that Nix was getting more calls than he was making.
  17. I don't think I have read much by way of derogatory comments regarding his departure. Most (everyone ?) is happy he is gone because he has been unable to build a roster with any consistent sense or purpose. Some good drafts, many bad ones and pretty much a disaster in the free agent area. He underperformed and we are happy he is gone. That hardly qualifies as 'dancing on his grave'
  18. This might actually be good news if indeed he has been instrumental in our personnel decisions over the past several years. Not sure how it worked internally with Overdorf. Also, do we have another insider at OBD ? If so, TBD must have incredible credibility.
  19. My reaction ? to Nix.
  20. I think Tim Graham and Wawrow are valuable TBDers and nevergiveup just joined that group by building up his credibility rather quickly and deservedly. I think there is space for friendly dialog, discussion and healthy disagreements here between reasonable and logical posters. I hope neither TG nor NGU is offended by the idiots on this board. In this specific discussion, there appear to be two points of view - NGU's from inside the organization and TG's from (possibly) Marty's side. As some others have said, we can choose what we want to believe without vilifying either messenger.
  21. Saved me a bunch of typing as I agree. It makes sense that Nix did not want to ruin his personal relationship with Marty and Ralph took it upon himself to be the 'fall guy' for the non-hire. Once Shanahan was gone, I was hoping we got Marty. But instead of beating up on Gailey, I would like to give him a chance. His choice of DC will be a good first indication of how he thinks. A solid, proven hire will go a long way to bumping up his credibility and Nix's. I am a tad less concerned about OC because Gailey himself has been an OC and a fairly successful one at that. Is Mike Nolan available to be our DC ?
  22. Sad thing is that the Bills' losing ways have provided plenty of fodder for the likes of Sullivan. With a new coach and expected personnel overhaul, this coming season does not promise to be a winning one either allowing Sullivan about 1.5 years to beat up on Nix. So one way or the other Sully is in a good position for the near term.
  23. I haven't gone through all pages of text but I think you should take a bow for this post.
  24. Actually it is really bad when you have to look to Cowboys fans for their opinion on our HC hire
