Much as I enjoyed the three movies, I felt they left a portion unresolved - about the relationship between Salander and Blomkvist. It seemed clumsy throughout the movies and the ending was unsatisfying. I am not big into unnecessary romance but once the film went down that path, there needed to be a firmer resolution to that aspect. Anwyay, that is a small complaint against a very good trilogy. On principle and also due to the utterly atrocious "Ghost Writer" with its idiotic underlying US-bashing theme.

Terrific ending to a lackluster year of movies. My must-watches: - Tintin: I am devoted fan of the comic books. - MI4: Cruise, Renner, Pegg... action ? Who needs a story ? - Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: Terrific story, loved the original movie and can't wait to see Fincher's take on it - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: (As Nanker pointed out, you either missed it or had it in the November list): I am a huge fan of the director's (Tomas Alfredson) first movie "Let the Right one in". For that reason and the terrific cast alone, I want to watch it. Unfortunately, I don't see it on the upcoming releases in theaters even 20 mile radius of my house. Sucks !

But the Bills have not given DrD a contract extension so he is safe
-
I hope the FO is not happy with the OTs. If we draft three positions out of QB, WR, Pass rusher and OT in the first three rounds, I will get drunk to celebrate. And a new DC will show that we are not that bad talent-wise. Seems like we have several guys playing out of position on the D.
-
I was responding to your comment that we will be set at OT without adding a player. Plus, if an LT is drafted in the top 3 rounds, he wont be too expensive with the new salary structure.
-
Yes to all except the last point. We still need a stud LT - Bell is not that and plus hasn't shown to be consistently healthy. We should place LT very high on our priority list. NOt sure what the Pears deal was worth, but we need him for depth. Hairston may be the long term answer at RT. Slightly off topic, but we need - LT, vertical threat WR and QB for our O.

Tony Sparano Fired As Dolphins Head Coach
Fan in Chicago replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to take this off topic, but JPL versus the Bills defense should be fun in itself to watch if not for its sheer ineptitude. -
Are you here to celebrate the departure of Sparano ? Or to find other fans in football misery ?
-
Had to rub it in, didn't you ? Right now, he is running like the beast we always hoped he would (for the Bills).
-
Nice to see him up there in the top 10 already. I like what I see from this year's draft class so far with Dareus, Williams, Hairston, Searcy contributing in a positive way even though the latter three got their chances due to injuries. We can only hope next year's draft is equally impressive and we would be on our way
-
I can understand that logic (not agree with it, but is understandable). I think the combination of Nix and Whaley can get this franchise a strong foundation. I still maintain that we cannot evaluate the drafted D talent with our current DC. And given we went so D-heavy in both drafts, his personnel choices look suspect as of now. Let us get a proven DC next year and see how the D performs.
-
So are you advocating we get rid of Nix or just trying to make a point ? I have also disagreed with a couple of his decisions but dont think we need to go as far as canning him just yet. This years draft class looks good in the early going and if we get a real DC, we should be really good.
-
Actually if you read those threads carefully, there are only a few but vocal posters who actually want him gone. Most (me included) are complaining about his critical mistakes and occasional displays of immaturity. I want him to be a Bill for a very long time and think he will greatly benefit from the addition of a deep threat.

Quit in July of last year after 21 years of smoking. Havent touched a cigarette since. You can do it. Just have to make up your mind and say to yourself that no matter what happens, you will not take even a single puff. Lot of psychology involved and your mind will play games with you. It does to this day but I am now used to these psychological urges (after a beer, with friends, after a fine meal, after the first rains....). Accept that these urges will keep occuring long after the physical urges are gone. Also acknowledge that there is nothing like 'just one puff'. I had quit several years back and used to do this - went back to smoking again. So this time - no puff. Besides the health benefits which you wont see in the short term, I am happiest as I am free of the slavery (stuck at airport for a long time ? Long plane ride ? in a tall building where you have to go outside ? - NO PROBLEM now) Good luck, you will be a much happier man.

Dareus is great but . . .
Fan in Chicago replied to billswi2000's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And just to add to your stats, here is how our run defense looks 2010 - 169.6 yards/game 2011 (to date) - 124 yards/game Fairly sizeable difference. I am not attributing this all to Dareus but if he was not playing pretty well, we would be only a tad lower than the 2010 number due to the loss of Kyle Williams and addition of Barnett. -
Dareus is great but . . .
Fan in Chicago replied to billswi2000's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
- As someone else pointed out, Dareus was sick - We are currently 21st against the run compared to 32nd last year. The main changes are addition of Dareus, injury to Kyle Williams and exchanging Poz for Barnett. If you cannot see how Dareus is part of the improvement on run D, you are either being blind or just want to hate - interior linemen do not typically make highlight reels like a WR, pass rusher, QB make. - Guy may be a leader on the field - something we sorely lack right now. Heard spells Dareus but Dareus was a great pick. -

Exactly my point - defense requires a good DC as well as good to great players. The point is the same now as it was before. -

Pretty sure I read on this board why Perry Fewell is so great. His Defense not looking so great right now. -
3rd and 11...Why blitz a corner?

I have to ask. Have you mistaken this board to be twitter ? You start 3-4 threads with single line comments which would be better contained in existing threads. This is a discussion board on opinions - not a shout box or twitter where every thought in your head becomes a new thread. -
Jerry Sullivan - Show Stevie The Money
Fan in Chicago replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I want Stevie to keep his twitter account. That way we have insight into the mind of the man who refuses to accept that he was the goat yesterday. Read his tweets and tell me he wasn't better off keeping those thoughts to himself. I would have been halfway blissful thinking he is having a tough night thinking about his errors. But NO ! He had to open his virtual mouth and proclaim to the world how stupid he is -
I thought these tweets were a joke so I went and checked it out for myself. Now I am besides myself with anger at this idiot. First he commits two major mistakes in a game when the entire team was fighting after several down weeks. Then he goes on twitter and posts this 'I am innocent and just trying to have fun' nonsense ? You lost your team a game this season and one last season. You should be ashamed at yourself. ANd then saying 'this was QB&WR not on the same page' ? Throwing your QB under the bus when he delivered one of the finest throws of the game in a clutch situation ? Stevie, I was proud to have your autograph from the 2009 training camp before you became a star. I have it hung on my office wall for all to see. Tomorrow I take it down. I wouldn't mind if Gailey disciplines him in some way for his immaturity.

Curious also to see how White performs as RB vis-a-vis Spiller. It will be quite telling

Lee Evans Watch - Baltimore vs. 49ers
Fan in Chicago replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont know which part of that play is sadder - the fact that one of our former first rounder just caught one short pass or that he did due to a failed tackle by another former first rounder. -

Evans got the first down cos Whitner whiffed on the tackle.
