Demetrius Bell - Now an Eagle
Fan in Chicago replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good post. There are two capable LTs on the market right now but both with a history of injuries - McNeill and Bell. It is almost a given that the Bills will draft a tackle in the first few rounds of this upcoming draft. If one of the above signs with Philly/Pitts, it is highly likely the Bills will sign the other and have the draft pick develop. I strongly agree that Hairston may look better on the right side than left. In short, the OL is of concern. What happens over the next month will be interesting. -

The Bills may wait to get their draft board set. If they believe that a Day 1 starter @ LT is not available, they may sign him to an incentive laden contract and take their BPA. By the time they decide on their draft choices, if Bell is still un-signed, then it works out very well for the Bills. They get cheap insurance and wait for a Round 2+ pick to develop. -

I don't think Buddy said he needed 9 players from those picks. I would love it if an OT is picked in the earlier rounds. -
I have been on that pier in the peak of summer last year. There is no railing and really no need for one if people are doing what they are supposed to over there - enjoy being near the water and gawk at bikini clad girls on the beach (behind that pier). The sad part may be that idiots will start a petition to have a railing to protect idiots like this woman who think it is their right to text and walk/drive/ride a bike. Society should not have to cover for idiots.

TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)

No kidding. I was kinda looking forward to the craziness that was sure to ensue in NY. i am still hoping the Jets land him -
So with this latest news of Mark Anderson signing, I realized that many of the players recently signed/re-signed by the FO are in a sweet 25-28 age bracket. So I decided to dig a bit deeper and quickly sorted the roster for players who are starters or otherwise seen as important players on all sides of the ball. The list is below (Hope it pastes properly). The average age is 27 and change with not too much deviation (Standard deviation of = 3.7). Which means we have a young roster with many players such as Kyle Williams, Mario Williams, Wood, Levitre ready to hit the prime of their career. COnclusion - this roster is built for a 4-5 year domination. We are still missing a few pieces such as LT, WR and one LB but depending on how the draft and rest of FA look, we are getting set for a long time guys. Kudos to the FO ! Barnett, Nick 30 Byrd, Jairus 25 Carrington, Alex 24 Chandler, Scott 26 Dareus, Marcell 22 Edwards, Dwan 30 Fitzpatrick, Ryan 29 Florence, Drayton 31 Hairston, Chris 22 Heard, Kellen 26 Jackson, Fred 31 Johnson, Steve 25 Jones, Donald 24 Kelsay, Chris 32 Levitre, Andy 25 Lindell, Rian 35 McGee, Terrence 31 McIntyre, Corey 33 McKelvin , Leodis 26 Merriman, Shawne 27 Moorman, Brian 36 Morrison, Kirk 30 Nelson, David 25 Pears, Erik 29 Rogers, Justin 24 Sanborn, Garrison 26 Scott, Bryan 30 Searcy, Da'Norris 23 Sheppard, Kelvin 24 Smith, Brad 28 Spiller, C.J. 24 Williams, Aaron 21 Williams, Kyle 28 Williams, Mario 27 Wilson, George 31 Wood, Eric 26 Average 27.4 years

Goodell lowers boom on the Saints

Depending on what happens with Brees' contract. I have a tough time believing that they won't come to terms in a timely manner, but if it does drag on, it may spell trouble. -

You can tell Mark Anderson isn't quite as coveted as Mario Willians. The Bills sent Nix to pick up Mario by jet. But they just asked Jay to call the local cab company for Mark Anderson -

I doubt it. IMHO Merriman and MAnderson will see situational duty rushing the passer whereas MWilliams, Carrington and Kelsay will see the majority of snaps. The odd ones out may well be Dwan Edwards and Spencer Johnson. -

If it were possible, I would donate our fifth to Denver to give Tebow to Miami. We will instantly improve our chances of 2 division victories. -

All Peyton Manning, all the time!
Fan in Chicago replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am thinking exactly the opposite - have Miami get him so we can splat his holy rear on the turf 5 times a game. Our edges will be set pretty strongly now which will force Tebow inside into the waiting arms of Kyle and Dareus. -
As you and others have pointed out, he is playing to the NE fan base while secretly worrying that a line with Dareus, KWilliams and MWilliams will be staring at Marcia with froth around their mouths. The Bills have allowed Brady to have his way with is for the better part of the last several seasons. Seeing that domination fading must have him worried big time. Funny he had to go out of his way to slam one of the biggest FA signing this off-season.

Heard the Vikings are looking to trade J. Allen
Fan in Chicago replied to NastyMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would ask why would said GM trade such a top notch guy at all ? Money may be the most obvious reason but you dont shed costs where they will hurt you the most. -
Carrington has been intriguing. I was willing to give him the doubt about both scheme and consistency in positions played. He (like several others on D) were not playing a single position and in consistent alignments on a regular basis to get any continuity, development and maturity. If Carrington indeed develops more this offseason, we will have the best front four, bar none. We do need at least another LB, if not two (assuming Moats is not that player), to really solidify the front 7. I can imagine this D wreaking havoc.

In a way, I share your apprehension regarding what the Bills will get for their money on the field. Also, this appeared to me to be a very non-Buddy type move. In two years, he has not shown so much aggressiveness in going after one player. The Clabo situation was the closest so far to an attempt to get a high priced FA. Was it part of his plan to first take care of the base and then fill in the last bits with high priced FA ? Or is it an attempt to generate excitement in the fan/sponsor base after what has been a disappointing season ? (i.e. is this a Donahoe type move ?) Having said all that, I think this is a move that helps the psyche of the team and their perception by the national media. If he indeed gets to be a significant presence at one end, he can funnel the play to the other side where the Kelsay/Merriman are more likely to make plays also. We have the money and maybe we should spend it for a change and see the results.
