  1. I can think of several cliches regarding this game: statement game, separate men from the boys, pretenders versus contenders, season defining. After the early season chest thumping regarding the Bills' ascendance, this game gives a chance to prove it. You can bet Spikes will be pumped about this game. I hope KyleW and Bradham return.
  2. View from the other side: Detroit Free Press " And suddenly, without warning, Jim Schwartz, now Bills’ defensive coordinator, rose into the air — like a bad dream come to life — smiling and pumping his fist, as the Bills beat the Lions, 17-14, Sunday afternoon. Schwartz even was carried off the field. Just shoot a laser into my eyes, I can’t watch anymore." Detroit News "It certainly wasn't Matthew Stafford's day. The quarterback whose late-season struggles certainly played a role in Schwartz's downfall in Detroit was picking himself up off the turf early and often. He was sacked six times, knocked down at least four more, and finished 18-of-31 for 221 yards with a touchdown and an interception."
  3. This game is rapidly getting out of hand
  4. Classy and hard worker. Tough to root against the guy. Hope for his sake (and the Bills) that he puts it all together.
  5. I see a big difference in the way Woods and Watkins answered the questions. Watkins was making a comparison and Woods was simply commenting on Orton. If he had made the tough catches, I wouldn't have been so hard on him. This is not about EJ . it is about a rookie who has proven little in real games, admitted to taking a play off in the SD game and had drops that changed the early course of the Texans game. He, of all people, needs to appreciate a hard worker, however lower skilled.
  6. Agree to this as well. EJ may not have football smarts but he is a very hard worker and a stand-up guy. People and especially his team mates need to have the class to appreciate it.
  7. I have a huge problem with him mouthing off (indirectly) about EJ but the above is the one I have the most problem with. He needs to give 100% every time he is on the field and help his QB out. He does not get to choose who is QB is.
  8. http://www.nfl.com/n...tter_atl_hanzus I liked Orton's response "....thats a **** question"
  9. "....but was not targeted once by Brady, who was seemingly too busy forcing the ball into Edelman, his other receivers’ ankles, and the players in red to pay any attention to the tight end."
  10. How then do you explain the interceptions this past Sunday when the Watt-led D was doing such a great job ? We have to agree to disagree. Fitz had a lot of moxy but his range was limited plus the aforementioned INTs would drive me insane. He is, like Orton, an ideal backup who can win a few games but unlikely to lead a team to the playoffs.
  11. While I agree with the overall sentiment, I seriously doubt you or the general fan base would be happy with the bolded part. That is basically Fitz's Achilles Heel and we hated him for throwing INTs. Also, if they happen at inopportune moments, the guy can have gaudy stats and yet end up on the losing end. The basic problem with EJ in his last two games was not necessarily being risk averse - it was just that the guy couldn't see or hit guys who were wide open.
  12. Because they will need to decide their QB strategy for next season and beyond. If they wait for next season to find out about JG, then it is too late to fix if there is a problem. If Brady continues to not perform, there is really no advantage in continuing with him. Rest assured, there will be a few teams in the league still willing to trade for him next season. In that scenario, if Brady continues his career with another team or hangs it up remains to be seen.
  13. Pats* will need to know what they have in Garrapolo before next season. I think Brady, being who he is, will get several more games this season esp if Thompkins and Dobson play. If he continues stinking it up as in the Chiefs games, I am willing to bet he gets benched and JG gets a few games to show what he does (or does not) have. Interesting turn of events for sure in the AFCE. Race to see who is not the best, but worst starting QB.
  14. Be that as it may, but at least one fumble and one interception were almost rookie-type mistakes. On one INT, there were three red jerseys and only one Edelman farther away from where the ball ended up. I was sitting thinking that it is one thing to speculate that Edleman ran the wrong route but there really was no route for him to run which did not intersect with at least 2 Chiefs defenders. Brady clearly looked rattled and unable to maintain/regain composure.
  15. Why are you bringing up articles from May 2013 ? And starting a new thread for them ?
  16. Touche Yet, I am not convinced Sullivan knows either.
  17. That may be your opinion. But true "personnel men" in the NFL know not to judge a pick from the first 4 games of his career. They may disagree with Whaley's assessment but they are unlikely to 'snicker' at the choice.
  18. With the Defense we have, all the O needs to do is score 24-27 points consistently and win the TOP. We will win more than we lose if the O can accomplish that, which should not be a problem if Orton just manages the games.
  19. Considering the part you originally quoted, I was not going to give Sullivan an extra click on his article. But thanks for the quote above. I still stand by my comments re: Sullivan
  20. Not if they win 10 games first
  21. Sullivan could have taken the opportunity to write an optimistic or even a cautiously optimistic article. Instead of giving credit to the coaching staff to make a tough decision, he proceeds to dig up all that he sees wrong and further pile on to the FO and coaching staff. "As I understand it, personnel men around the NFL are still snickering at the deal." . Really ? First he complains about EJ and when the coaches make a surprisingly early decision to pull him, he still complains using points which are rather irrelevant to the current turn of events. People here may agree with what he wrote because he is not technically wrong. But doom and gloom gets pretty boring and irritating.
  22. Man the AFCE looks terrible right now. In fact, looking at Brady's performance against the Raiders (who they struggled to beat) and last night has me wonder if there is even one decent QB in the AFCE right now.
  23. What terrible clock management by the Chiefs. Could have gone for the jugular and the stupid conservative play calling may come back to bite the Chiefs. Could have gone for a TD
