  1. Depends on the road you want to travel. If you are wanting to cheer for someone, Ravens may be better
  2. While I fully agree with playing to your strengths and masking weak areas, I am not too hot on this 'offensive identity' stuff. I want our offense to be versatile (which I believe we are) and flexible. Saying and sticking to 'we are a run first team' or equivalent does not factor in the strength of the opposition and the game situation. Maybe the Jets game was an extreme example of plenty of turnovers by the opposition and weak QB play but it does serve to indicate that we have to be able to do offense according to what the opponent is good or weak at. Sure we have some weaknesses but in general we are very balanced on both O and D. I think with continued steady QB play and IF we improve the interior of the O, we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs while taking out some big names in the process. But both the above are very big IFs.
  3. Yo Simon !! Hit and run is not fair. You started this with an analytical post, got us posters all happy and bitchy then you disappear again. Come back and finish the discussion. BTW, no words on the QB situation ?
  4. I have watched Cam off and on. Besides his crazy jumping around in the pre-season game, the 'Donkey Kong Suh' press conference and his actual QB play, I must say he doesn't appear to be from the 'franchise QB' mold. While the plan looked brutal, it is commendable that they pulled both games off rather convincingly. Their second half performance in both games was pretty good. But I think they did better in the Packers game considering they faced Rodgers.
  5. Really terrible performance by Cam tonight. High throws, locking on to one receiver ( Benjamin) and too much mustard on many throws. Not impressed at all tonight
  6. He may ask for it but whethere the Bills should give it or not depends on how he plays in the playoffs. Also, I would still not give him a lot of money ($5.5 million/yr is plenty good) until he continues the success next season.
  7. Welcome back, Simon.
  8. Depends on how we used that saved money. Too often have the Bills 'saved' money by not retaining players only to not use that money in the future years either. We have a lot of very good players on D and it will be interesting to see where the FO decides to spend the money. As I said in a different thread, in a twisted way, its 'good' we don't have to spend too much for a franchise QB.
  9. And that is where a competent front office comes in. Vick has played in the recent past but the results should have indicated they need a better backup option. Much to Revis' delight, I am sure.
  10. Oh thats okay. Happens to the best of us. Not saying you are the best of us but if you were, it could still happen.
  11. Even with Vick they could have signed Orton, no ? Hence my point that they placed a lot of trust in Vick to not go after Orton. Orton was clearly the safer backup option.
  12. New one: "When you cross reference this list with the toxic differential, we are a shoe in."
  13. As opposed to being booted out ?
  14. Wrong Houston as Matt in KC points out. But don't feel too bad, the Bears also got confused and only later realized which Houston they signed.
  15. Their faith in Vick and blindness to what Orton had to offer must be held against Idzik.
  16. Remains to be seen. In the SB, the Denver O couldn't solve the Seattle D either. So let us not place a whole lot of blame just on the Denver D last year. I always thought that PManning suffered from a weak D in Indy which prevented him from more playoff/SB wins. This year, he has no excuse. If he again loses in the playoffs or SB, the case for him being a playoff choker gets stronger. The greatest QB with the most records and least playoff success. Hence, this season is very interesting for the Broncos and Manning.
  17. Totally agree. He is the best option and has lot of talent surrounding him. However, given Orton's history of being a ~0.500 starter, I would be cautious of any over-optimism. First things first - make the playoffs.
  18. Every week we seem to be playing a top-10 defense ! If Jackson is back, we will have pass protection help. On O, we should throw a lot. On D, we match up well because their passing game is mediocre and our run-D is good enough to slow down Charles. Won't be easy, but I predict we win a close one. Hang on. So all these years, he has been throwing with a good shoulder ??
  19. So are you now questioning the standard measure of ranking a defense in the NFL ?
  20. I don't know, man. 5 kids for every 100 times I have sex. Thats like 1 in 20 probability. Roughly the same as the Bills frequency of making playoffs. Which circles back to eball's original post.
  21. Guy missed a PAT. Which kicker misses a point after ? This gives me as much comfort as a condom claiming 95% effectiveness.
  22. This is lazy analysis at best. You need to consider that in most games, the D is making it tough on opposing Offenses. Also, the ST have improved. All these aspects are making the Bills look better than they actually are. Next time, do you homework before posting.
