  1. I'd be shocked if we don't take a WR with #41 or #46. Weakest spot on the roster. Most likely a DB or LB with the other 2nd.
  2. Maybe you're right, but seems like the last couple years, the inside info about the Bills draft was consistent. This year, it seems like it's all over the place on who Bills like. Easy to predict Gilmore, Dareus, and even Spiller the past 3 years. Honestly have no idea what direction Bills are gonna take at #8.
  3. Found it extremely interesting that Whaley mentioned Landry Jones as a potential 1st rounder when talking on the John Murphy show. It was basically unsolicited. Mentioned Smith, Barkley, Manuel, and Nassib as well. Polian mentioned that he thought Landry Jones was the best QB in the draft followed by Nassib. Gut feeling, but I think the Bills will be happy to sit tight at #41 and take whomever is available from Nassib, Jones, and Manuel.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised if Dion Jordan is available at #8. Probably comes down to Jordan or Eifert if they stay at #8 or trade back if Austin is still available.
  5. Not saying a deal is done, but unless there's some kind of rule that you have to announce a signing once the ink is dry it makes no sense to announce this deal until at least Friday night. Same with a potential Brandon Moore signing. Everyone knows we need a QB, but LB and Guard are also perceived needs.
  6. Agreed, but probably wouldn't cost more than a 4th to move up 5-7 spots.
  7. Like the trade-down and think it is a good possibility. Would like to see Bills take Eifert at #16 though. Then go get Barkley or Nassib at the top of the 2nd round, and get a WR with the Rams 2nd rounder.
  8. Never said that's why they traded Revis. Talking about their supposed interest in Nassib in 1st round. Kind of like Nix and Whaley's fawning over Austin at the pre-draft luncheon.
  9. As mentioned on other threads, Jets aren't taking a QB at #9 or #13 unless Ryan is fired before Thursday. They're clearly trying to get Bills to take Nassib at #8 so maybe Austin, Milliner, or a pass rusher fall to #9. Don't take the bait. Dare them to waste a 1st rounder on a QB with a lameduck coach.
  10. In a perfect world we'd trade down, pick up a 2nd rounder and get a starting QB, WR, and TE with our first 3 picks.
  11. Jets should have no bearing on what we do. Unless they fire Rex and cut Sanchez before Thursday, they aren't taking a QB at #9 or #13.
  12. Agree with this. Not to mention, a 1st round QB would be in an impossible situation with Rex as a lameduck and Sanchez still on the team. As long as no QB's are taken before the 8th pick, I'd trade down. Worst case you get your 1B pick at QB. Jets taking a QB doesn't worry me at all. Even if they do, it's almost a wasted pick for them and you still get at worst your 2nd choice.
  13. On the flip side, I don't think Jets take a QB with Rex and Sanchez both still there. 1st round QB would only add to the circus. Also, how do we even know if Jets like the guys we like at QB? I'd still roll the dice on a trade-back if we can get a 2nd rounder. Still like our chances of getting whomever we want in the middle of the 1st.
  14. Jets certainly more likely to take QB than Bucs at #13, but just seems stupid to take a QB in 1st round when Rex is most likely gone after this year. Jets have a fondness for stupid though.
  15. Think St. Louis is the most likely trade down partner. They are in need of a versatile threat like Austin. Buzz is that a bunch of teams between #9 and their #16 pick are interested in Austin. Bills pick up a 2nd rounder and still get the QB they want at #16 (only risk is Jets at #9 or potentially #13 if they trade Revis). Doubt the QB needy teams at top of the 2nd would move that far to get in front of Bills at #16. St. Louis gets their man in Austin and keeps their other 1st rounder.
  16. How about Barkley in the 1st and Bray in the 4th. If the past 13+ years have shown anything, it's that not being set at the QB position almost makes all your other moves meaningless.
  17. Agreed. Only thing I felt they were not being honest about was their interest in Austin. No doubt they like his abilities, but I think he'd be duplicative with Spiller. What I gathered from yesterday is they're gonna take a QB in the 1st round, preferrably after a trade down. The whole thing about Kaepernick and Wilson being top 5 picks if they came out now was a dead give-away. Then I expect a big WR/TE or DB if one falls in the 2nd.
  18. If Bills are going with Barkley or Nassib in the 1st, makes a lot of sense to trade down and get an extra pick. Could see the Jets take Geno, but couldn't see Jets taking Barkley or Nassib at #9. Fans would go nuts and Rex and new GM are operating on a short leash. After Jets at #9, not much risk a QB will be taken until the mid-late 20's in a trade-up scenario.
  19. While we're throwing around hypotheticals, how about our #8 and Byrd for the Rams #16, #22, and #46. Rams get Austin and Byrd. Bills now have 4 picks in the top 46.
  20. Agreed. Any team in market for a safety in 1st round comes to mind. Just so happens 3 of those teams (St. Louis, Cincy, and San Fran) have a lot of extra picks.
  21. Brandon's version of Moneyball.
  22. Disappointing especially with a new coaching staff. Wouldn't be surprised if a trade is in the works.
  23. Would you rather the Bengals two 2nd round picks this year (#37 and #53) or San Fran's 1st rounder this year(#31) and 1st rounder next year (most likely a late 1st again)? I'd rather the Bengals two 2nd's this year.
  24. Don't like losing good young players, but if you're gonna lose him anyway in a year and we use the pick(s) for a QB, I say go for it.
  25. If the Bengals want to draft Vaccaro, it would take at least their #21 pick to do it and probably more. Byrd is a proven commodity. I don't think two 2nd rounders is unreasonable. Seems like speculation, but writer makes a lot of good points.
