Counterpoint is Beane left room in Josh’s and Miller’s restructure to cover Aiyuk’s $14m if he wanted to. And Beane has historically operated that way where he doesn’t clear the cap space until he needs it. Additionally I doubt San Fran would sell us cap space but trading Aiyuk would put them at $21m under the cap, and it seems like Beane and Lynch spent some time together trying to get the League to change their comp picks.

Von Miller IG story about Beane trading up for a WR
BuffaloRebound replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sometimes there’s crumbs out there on social media that get discounted as nonsense. A lot of times it is. I could be completely wrong but I think there’s a lot of crumbs out there that add up to a deal being in place for Aiyuk. There’s no way Miller posts that 12 days before the draft without knowing it isn’t happening. The only way he’d know that isn’t happening is if there’s a deal in place for a vet like Aiyuk. Aiyuk unfollowing the 49ers could be nothing but so could’ve Diggs passive-aggressive cryptic posts. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who will roll their eyes especially the ones who want Diggs replaced in this draft, but there’s crumbs out there pointing to Aiyuk. -
Counterpoint is that it took Aiyuk 3 years to become that dude. We can’t afford to waste 2-3 years of prime Josh waiting on somebody to develop into WR 1. Plus Aiyuk thrived in a ball control, RB utilized offense where he still put up big numbers without a huge number of targets.

Just took a look at Godwin’s contract on spotrac. Tampa has $500k in cap space and would have to eat an additional $6m in dead cap if they traded or cut Godwin. Plus he’s due to earn $20m this year. I’d much rather trade for Aiyuk who’s also the younger better player at this point of their careers. Aiyuk for a swap of this years first rounders plus next years first rounder. Trade back from 31 for a 3rd rounder and take one of the centers from oregon or west virginia with our 1st pick. Then go safety, WR with our 2nd and 3rd rounders.
-
Swap 1st rounders this year (which amounts to a 4th) plus next years 1st. Bills can attack draft same way as if they had Diggs.
-
Looks like he’s the Bates replacement rather than the Brown replacement.
-
A 4th or 5th rounder is a ton of value? Roquan is as get as it gets at the position and went for a 2nd rounder at age 25. McCaffrey went for a 2nd rounder too. Non-rush LB’s are in same boat as RB’s
-
Doubt he’s worth more than a 4th/5th rounder at this point. LB’s who don’t have double digit sack numbers aren’t valued very highly in today’s NFL. I’ll be glad to have him back, but likely his best days are behind him.

I like Coleman, but I don’t think he’s a great fit with Josh. Josh with his rocket arm is better suited with the separators. Coleman looks more suited to excel with a Burrow type precision passer. Nabers, Thomas, Worthy, Franklin seem more like Josh type WR’s.

Which player is the draft community too low on?

Polk is a dawg. Reminds me of Justin Jefferson getting over shadowed by Chase at LSU and everybody thinking he was just a possession receiver. -
When it’s put into numbers like that, makes me think we sign a vet like Tyler Boyd. Can’t count on 2 rookie WR’s getting that many targets.
-
I know the Diggs trade is still a bit shocking, but you don’t trade a young ascending starting RT on a rookie deal. That would make me question whether Beane is doing his best John Butler before he went to the Chargers impression.
-
No way I’m trading pick 28, pick 60 and next years 1st to move up to pick 9 for a WR. Chiefs traded less to us to move up for a QB.
-
I agree with this. I think Worthy is actually getting dinged for losing some weight and running the fastest 40. Worthy plays tougher on film than you’d think and he was productive as an 18 year old Freshman. He’s still only 20 years old. He’s almost uncoverable and played well against the best competition. I’d be happy with him at pick 28 but don’t think he lasts that long. Dudes with big play ability and consistent production like that don’t last until pick 28.
-
Other. Trade back from 28 for a team that wants an OT or Penix/Nix. Take whoever is left from Legette, Mitchell, Franklin, or Worthy. Double dip in the 3rd or 4th round.
-
Franklin is intriguing. There’s so many good WR’s in this draft that he’s probably being overlooked right now. I like him better than any of the 1st round WR’s last year. Got some Devante Adams to his game. Such a fluid mover.
-
Agreed. A better more explosive version of Gabe Davis is what this offense needs. Kincaid, Samuel and Shakir can handle the underneath and medium targets. Draft a WR at pick 60. Draft Dejean, Barton or D-Lineman at pick 28.
-
My right hip hurts watching him kick. He’s the only kicker I’ve seen swing his right leg like his hip has no hinge, instead of stepping into the kick with force. It was probably a matter of time before he was going to have some issues. Hopefully they are correctable.

We need some dudes. Metcalf is one of those. He steps up in the playoffs. He doesn’t get bullied by DB’s when the refs let everything go in the playoffs. He does the bullying. All our skill players are cost controlled for at least 2 years. Trade next years 1st and give him $20m per year over next 3 years. Then draft an O-Lineman at 28 and a WR at 60.

New Buscaglia mock has Bills trading up to 7 for Malik Nabers
BuffaloRebound replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
So hypothetically we’re looking at: 1. Nabers for Pick 28, 2024 4th rounder, 2025 1st round, 2025 2nd round 2. Odunze for pick 28, 2024 4th rounder, 2025 1st rounder 3. Thomas Jr for pick 28, 4th rounder, 2025 2nd rounder 4. stay put at 28 and take Mitchell, Franklin, Worthy, Leggette, or McConkey 5. trade pick 28 and a 4th for Aiyuk 6. trade pick 60 and 2025 2nd rounder for Metcalf 7. trade pick 28 and next years 1st for Higgins 8. trade back from pick 28, pick up an extra 3rd and probably pick from the same group in scenario 4 except maybe mitchell and double up on WR in 3rd or 4th round -

If 4 QB’s go in the top 4 picks, I could see the Giants trading down for a haul of 2025 picks. If one of the 4 top QB’s falls to 6, Giants probably pull trigger on on a QB, but that means Harrison and Nabers are gone anyway. I could see Beane having deal in place with Bears at 9 also if Odunze is there. Beane probably also has deal in place between pick 16 and 19 for Thomas. If all 3 of those fall through, then we trade pick 28 for Aiyuk. If that falls through, then it’s probably next years 1st for Metcalf. Beane didn’t trade Diggs without at least a 5 deep contingency plan. -

Julio Jones trade is best comp. Falcons gave up their 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks then next years 1st and 4th.
