Oh those wacky Browns fans
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I recall a fight in the cafeteria in HS. Two guys on the football team squared off, bigger dudes and it amounted to much more of a cartoonish slap fight than anything else. They may have been buddies who got into a spat, can’t recall but I never realized in 1977 I was seeing the future play out before me. Socially distanced fighting IS the future. -

4 years ago I agree. After the Russia character assassination plot and the attempt to eviscerate Brett Kavanaugh, I firmly believe you roll over whomever stands in the way within the framework of our legal system. If hearts and minds have not been earned after the left attempted to unseat the President elected on behalf of 60,000,000 Americans, the SC isn’t going to matter much one way or the other. You can’t afford to play nice with people bent on your destruction.

Jesus, it took 10 google searches to find this tired old group of pseudo-dem operatives. It looks to me like they came from the swamp, thrived in the swamp, and really are searching for a return to swamp normalcy. It will be cool seeing das Liberals pumping up this group who worked for the war criminal Bush the younger. F&^% em. The Republican Political Alliance for Integrity and Reform (REPAIR) is a group of former senior U.S. government officials and conservatives—including from the Reagan, Bush 41, Bush 43, and Trump administrations—who are committed to advancing a more hopeful vision of America’s future. The Alliance brings together thought leaders and stakeholders to focus on a return to principles-based governing in the post-Trump era. REPAIR also cultivates and promotes diverse viewpoints across the conservative spectrum on issues ranging from national security and foreign policy to social unrest and democratic institutions.

I did, but explained the context when you brought it your attention. I know context is important to you, mostly because you use that term frequently, and I wanted things to make sure I was clear. Had I known of your tendency to gloss over a response once names of some sort were used, I may well have approached my response differently. Alas, we cannot turn back the hands of time. Unless, of course, one makes spurious allegations against people when there is something to be gained by it. In that case, time is irrelevant, unless, of course, the allegation is against certain entrenched and woke politicians. When that occurs, time is no longer irrelevant, the alleged victim becomes irrelevant.

I would suggest putting 80% of your money in the First City Wide Bank of Change. Keep the other 20% liquid in case it rains. https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/first-citywide-change-bank/n9701 Any thoughts on my prior question?

A while back, a pundit (I think) dropped a mysterious "13 days" line on the world. Around the same time, perpetual "stay tuned" politician Lindsay Graham implied something big was coming in the short term. Now, the dems and this pre-emptive move which seems substantial. I see it less as fear, more of 'let's throw more sh*t against the wall to distract the people'. We all get worked up when people get served a subpoena, but it really doesn't seem to matter all that much in the big picture. I'm admittedly one of the defeatist conservatives mentioned upthread in @BillsFanNC post. Still, a glimmer of hope exists.

It's a quote SpongeBob Squarepants. I think he actually said "Elaborate, vile fiend.". It's one of my all-time favorite kid's shows as it had some stuff for dear old dad as well. I don't think you're vile. No hoax. But, still, elaborate, kind sir.

my old friend @Bob in Mich made the case that Trumps lies were way more liarly than other politician's lie lies. It was funny then and funny now. It went like this: Me: Nu'uh. BiM: Uh, yuh. Me: Don't think so. BiM: Fa sho. Me: Get over yourself. BiM: No, you get over YOURself! I think we both felt better after the airing of grievances.

Are we discussing the complaint, the various reasons she has made the allegation, the inherent complexities of discussing an allegation about something that may/may not have taken place 20+ years ago, or the evangelical/conservative support for DJT in light of unsubstantiated allegations from two decades ago? Advise, vile fiend.

That has nothing to do with Obama, it was about Dan Bongino and your characterization of him. The tweet he sent out is about Obama, I simply pointed out there is evidence of corruption by Barry O to support his tweet. On your note regarding Obama, a friend of mine was involved in NYS politics. Attny, connected, political appointee at a high level. We got to taking about corruption in NY and he offered the opinion that most politicians from metro NY are connected and corruption in the form of pay for play was common knowledge. To assume Barrack Obama was too much a rube and plebe to not have connections is naive. As for “stop blaming Obama”, again, silly and naive. As a political party, it’s the responsibility of the party to figure out the hot button issues for voters they can reach, keep the story in the news and run it as nauseum. Even though he doesn’t know it most days, Biden is from the Obama tree, and if tying them together results in a win, so be it. At the same time, continue the reveal of the corruption at the Obama Biden White House as new information is released. On the other hand, of the strategy fails it was a bad call.

I also heard she had a hook on her foot, and that's weird. Edit--just googled it. From the RL transcript February 2020, here is the story. Not picking with you--my memory sucks most days, but I was fairly certain I had heard it correctly. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2020/02/18/a-big-thank-you-to-chrissie-hynde/ -

I jumped on the bandwagon today and ignored. Too much hatred coming from that poster. -
If you feel Dan B is an agent for the deep state, feel free to disregard. However, there is ample evidence that BO is as crooked a poli as you'll ever see. DB's connections to the secret service alone make him worth listening to alone imo. He's only speaking truth to power, I thought that was a good thing?

Interestingly, I believe I heard an interview with her on this subject where she said her dad was a fan of his show. She loved her dad, didn't always agree with him but was cool as she thought about it. Disclaimer--I may have heard an interview played on Rush's show, or he recapped the story. It was within the last year or two. -

I would have gone with this but with texting today these young kids dumb it all down: My dear Mr. Nut, I hope this letter finds you well. The creeping chill of autumn rests heavy on my bones and I pray that the warmth of God’s sun dances gently upon yours. I write today with a heavy heart and trust that our relationship, forged in the pain, misery and sweet joy of our shared love of our Bills of Buffalo will not sour as a result. Desperation compels me to push forward. It seems, my friend, that the modern advances of technology have proved a most fickle mistress indeed. This Sunday past, I endeavored to maintain an electronic mimeograph of the spirited contest between our beloved Bills and their rivals from the metropolis but 7 hours east by motor car. Alas, I discovered only upon completion of the match that fate had conspired with Satan himself and my feeble attempt to secure had failed. I ask all men of goodwill but a simple favor. Had you, sir, maintained a copy for your own viewing pleasure.... would you be willing to share in whatever form you deem appropriate? Your kindness would be well received and I would be forever in your debt. If, however, you feel my query a bit presumptuous, I ask only that you forgive this wretched fool for his hubris. I mean no disrespect. With warm regard, I am LS -
That’s a pretty amazing interview and sort of reveals the problem with applying common sense to a hostile situation and assuming you’ll be justified in your actions. Interesting in a rage inducing way is the story about a guy beset upon by some scumbags breaking his car windows with a baseball bat, and one scumbag (deceased) smashing his window and punching him in the head. The victim defends himself by shooting the scumbag (deceased) and killing him. Prosecutors decide to prosecute, jury acquits. So, the tens of thousands of dollars in defense of his actions, the emotional trauma of being set upon, being threatened with a baseball bat and physically assaulted, and then being branded as the criminal. I would think most people with a decent heart would assume if you ever were going to shoot someone, probably the time would be when people were brandishing baseball bats and physically assaulting you in your car.

So, the best outcome besides flat out dismissal or the officer not showing is pleading to a non-moving violation,or “illegal parking” or whatever they call it. Sometimes they combine that with a need to take def driving course. Often, the deal is they offer to agree to reduce points and make it go away, but the plea is for “disobeyed traffic device”. While less points on license, you’re saying that instead of driving recklessly at a high rate of speed you only drove recklessly through a stop sign. I was stopped a few years ago for 83 in 65 on NYS near Utica, drove back out for hearing, prosecutor offered the def driving and parking ticket option which o gratefully accepted. Still cost me a couple hundred, but no points/no tickets on my abstract. And, I was speeding so there is that. Def worth showing up v pleading guilty by mail.
