Other than looking and acting 110 years old, I think it’s completely fair to grieve for a police officer killed in the line of duty. I wish, honestly, that dem leadership gave as much care and concern for officers not protecting Washington politicians as they do for the ones they have a vested interest in supporting. Give the average officer half the care and cover they gave the guy who shot Ashley Babbitt and we would be a better society for it.

Wow, this is really something. The exceptional January 6 Committee, out to save the world and bring darkness to light, “accidentally” releases the social security number(s) of nearly 2000 citizens who just happen to hold different political views. This, after rumors circulate about the committee protecting certain special interests who may have acted illegally or unfavorably up to and including 1/6 (thanks to @ChiGoose for bringing that to our attention) . This after the raid on Mara Lago. This after Trumps private tax returns we’re made public long after he left public office, and of which he had no legal obligation to reveal. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/01/06/social-security-numbers-jan-6-committee-documents/ Death by a thousand paper cuts—-the New Democrat model of politicking apparently includes providing grifters and one’s enemies with sensitive/confidential personal information. But….Trump was the authoritarian. 🧐

leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
You brought the bottle out with 13 seconds left, didn’t open it but thought that would neutralize the jinx factor? I don’t know much about X and O strategy, Wide 9 formations and the rest, but I know all about the jinx. Why don’t you take that @&$”@ bottle and $@&($$& shove it $& $$)()$ and $&@@&$ and &$&@9!!! -
Biden calls the Hamlin's
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That was a nice gesture on his behalf. Kudos to the president. I’m sure Damar’s family was touched by the leader of the world calling them to express support for their son’s recovery. -
I was at the food store today, and this frail old man with straggly hair, pale, pasty skin and nicotine-stained fingers approached me, caught my eye and whispered “Joe Walshhhhhhhhhhh” with a heavy emphasis on the “Shhhhhh”. I’m a people person, heck you know that, so while troubled, I said to this odd fellow “Excuse me sir, but I have no idea what you’re talking about.”. Well, he looked around like he was afraid someone was following him, then he leaned in and said “Joe Walshhhhhh. Did you read what Joe Walshhhhh said about the House?”. I said “Joe Walsh from “Joe Plumbin’ Done Right!” over on Delaware? He hasn’t been to my house. I try and do my own plumbing.” He looked at me, his eyes wide as saucers and said “No…Joe Walshhhhhhh….Freedom-Walsh. He said what’s happening now is bad.”. At that point, BillSy, he was sorta freaking me out so I said “Uh, oh—yeah, Freedom Fighting Joe Walsh, I get him and the plumber confused sometimes, all they ever want to do is talk 💩. Ha ha. Good stuff. Lol.” I nodded my head and as I started to walk away, like a whippet he reached out, grabbed me by the forearm—-his strength was incredible—-stared me right in the eye and said “He fights for freedom….lissssten to him. Lissssssten.” I honestly didn’t know what to say, so I was like “Ok”. The next he he said was “Do you know where they are hiding the Triscuits? I can never find the Triscuits”. I told him I didn’t know, but to be candid, I know. I love Triscuits. I just wanted to get away from him. You’re the second person today to want to tell me what some guy named Joe Walsh thinks, and I don’t know why. It’s strange.

That’s a standard default argument—reigning in the budget, kicking the can down the road, it’s on our kids and grandkids. Truth is, not enough people care, and there are very, very few politicians in Washington who give it much thought. Rand Paul, maybe, and people were thrilled when his neighbor tried to take him out. That said, Trump was in office for 4 years, Biden has been in office 45+. There is no comparison between the two and their impact on the national economy.

You two lovebirds should get married. 😎 Rockefeller would be 174 years old if he were alive today. The r party has changed since the studebaker was all the rage, and the d party has as well. I’m a conservative with socially liberal tendencies who recognizes the abject stupidity of both parties at times. What appealed to me about Trump was his America first agenda. I don’t see that as really all that different than the “Buy American” movement of the 1970s by union democrats. I also tend to believe if you have your own house in order, it’s much easier to help others.

Red typed FIFY, which I believe means Fixed it for You. In that case, I would be you. I believe that he should have typed FIFM, or Fixed it for Me, me not being me, obviously, but me being him. Not him Him as in “He HIM”, but him being the me who fixed the text to represent his views, not the you purported to be me.

@muppy I may also done accused RedTailHawk of things he didn’t do! I’ll defer to you on this one, I saw what RedTailHawk had done and believed he done misappropriated the words I used and replaced them with his own. While that is my truth and I hold it dear, if you see it otherwise I withdraw my charge of plagiarism but RedTail is a scoundrel still!

I’ll summarize: Someone said something, someone said that was crazy, someone said republicans are all stupid, someone said democrats are all stupid, RedTailHawk done plagiarized and edited my post, Eastern Ohio has season tickets to the WNBA (he’s probably the only one) and Andy, this Andy guy was 🤬 nice to me. Cats are eating dogs, dogs are eating cats!

Holy smokes— add in Biden and his daughter’s diary, his acknowledgments on groping women, and the credible allegations of violent sexual assault, maybe we really are moving toward a one party system? Andy, glad to see you’re ok. We had the brief exchange the other day about Republican’s treating Santos with the Biden model and then poof, you were gone. This is like the PPP version of “Castaway”.

@muppy is sharing her thoughts during a very difficult time, and her initial response was a heartfelt post and prayer for this very unfortunate young man. In my experience, that’s been her response to every trial and tribulation the Bills have faced. Consider context, a human being letting her heart show through and sharing a conversation she had with her child during a very emotional time. Muppy can certainly speak for herself, but you’re wrong on this one—there will not be a fan on this board who cares more than she does.

I agree, I thought I made that clear? Biden has consistently delivered on the things important to his constituents—-unfortunately, many of those things were disproportionately harmful to a generation of people who looked and sounded different than his constituents. This isn’t news to you, BillSy, however you want to spin it. People can rationalize behaving in a way that on the surface conflicts with their convictions, but generally there has to be something really good in it for them (more money in their pockets, safer neighborhoods and insulated property values), and it helps if there is a bigger boogie man to make one feel better. My point remains that in spite of what you call the “major flaws” of Biden, he’s been one of the most powerful people in the country for decades. He was rewarded for doing the heavy dirty lifting you want to pretend now never occurred.
