  1. I started watching the Bills in 1968. OJ is, hands down, the best Bill ever - even better than Jimbo. OJ had every opponent keyed on him and he still made yards - and led the league in 1972 before the line jelled into the "Electric Company". OJ could run in any weather or field conditions. He is the Bills' most electric player I have seen. Thurman is the clear #2 RB. I am surprised Freddy has such strong numbers, looking at the Bills career RBs. It's even more amazing considering how often he played behind crappy lines and seemed to have a lot of runs where he had a guy on him before he got the handoff. I love the guy, but wouldn't have guessed his numbers are as strong as they are. Amazing. He is as fun to watch as Thurman was. Cookie had a TD every 21.8 rush attempts, which is an amazing stat in itself. No one else is close.
  2. @mikerodak: Mom - will you bring me down my Pats* cap?
  3. Part of the vetting process should be to review Chef Jim's hacked e-mail account.
  4. There's always Allie LaForce
  5. Just send them an e-mail. Duh.
  6. The real mystery is she was teaching "home economics". Does that even exist anymore?
  7. Cincy!
  8. Better buy some KY - you're going to prison.
  9. But were there 5 threads for Mario? LOL
  10. She sounds like a great young lady! Is she cute? I have a potential son-in-law I'm trying to get rid of.......
  11. While we're at it, let's make Mario go both ways and play TE. He'd make the Pro Bowl as a Tony Gonzalez clone
  12. You are pretty good with other people's money!
  13. Don't forget to start a thread about how horrible Mike Schopp and WGR talk radio are!
  14. .......he says after instigating a vocabulary argument! j/k
  15. What's the record for the greatest number of threads/views for a non-Bills player? Are we getting close?
  16. The Nickname and logo have no relationship to each other. Someone should start a thread about that.
  17. God bless Jerry. More power to him - if I was lucky enough to be in his shoes I'd do the exact same thing. For me as a fan it's just a game. For him it's his livelihood. Go for it! And what do I care anyway? We have Matt Cassel! Can anybody say "second Wild Card spot"? Yeeeee. Haaawwww!
  18. I think the Bills are done shopping for QBs - outside of the draft. I think they'll take one in Round 2 or 3. That said - Cassel will be the Comeback Player of the Year and break the playoff drought in 2015. Now, where did I put my bong.......
  19. You are both wrong. Syracuse is far worse off than Buffalo and Rochester. I am proud as hell of my Syracuse and no one is going to tell me it's not the worst in the state, dammit.
  20. More like 1553 rushing and 536 receiving in 2014. That 1000/1500 combo had me in shock.
  21. some of the same people that care enough to read your anonymous posts on a fan message board
  22. Liked almost every one of them. As a spit-balling ideas kind of thing. Surprised I liked them - usually these kinds of redesigns on unis have no appeal to me.
  23. Been passing the off-season (and recuperating from double-hernia surgery) by reminiscing the classic Bills games/seasons..... Just read "Talking Proud" the 2005 book by Rick Blake about the 1980 Bills: It's a quick read, and if you were a fan during that season, it brings back some good memories.Has some insights into player/coach conversations and decision-making that are interesting and makes me wonder where they came from. I've read a few books from former Bills of that season (Dobler, Smerlas, Chuck Knox), so maybe they are tucked away in those books, or perhaps newspaper interviews (?)The 1980 team had a colorful personality, a rowdy reputation, and it was a different league on and off the field back then. This book does a good job of capturing the good old days.Nothing really new that surprised me; recaps of the key games highlighted important turning points bringing the season to life for me.Haslett was a maniac, fighting his teammates, most notably Isiah Robertson. Funny details of bar fights, including a finger-biting incident. Knox was a players coach for sure, but I didn't realize he was even more lax than Levy was. The two coaches had similar post-season success - never winning the biggest game of any season - and maybe the lax approach had something to do with that.Blake interjects his childhood memories into the action, which at times was a distraction, but added a 7th grader's perspective....which I remember having as well (only about ten years prior!).Lots of details about the Chamber of Commerce's "Talking Proud" campaign, which was interesting to see how it all came together. Buffalo has a long history of feeling slighted and dissed! All in all, a good trip down memory lane to a classic Bills' season.
