Mike Francesa on WFAN says Kelly does not...
JPL7 replied to JPDontletthedoorhityourars's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
did he say what his reasoning was behind saying that? -
Can someone please explain to me whats the point of having the no intentional grounding rule when the qb is out of the tackle box?? ive always wanted to know. it seems like it gives QB's an easy out when they are scrambling. i honestly dont see any reasoning behind it. anyone know? Furthermore why is there a yardage penalty as well as loss of down imposed for intentional grounding, but not when the QB spikes the ball to stop the clock? thanks in advance

Whitner moves to FS, Simpson now 4th on Depth Chart??
JPL7 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what do u mean due to his size? hes big enough to play SS and certainly fast enough as well. -
could someone please tell me what the point of that rule is? why can the TE or tackle or whatever not be covered by a WR? what is the rule trying to prevent from happening?
-
though i have to say, at this point i wouldnt have mind seeing him on our team? we need a FB and he has a proven track record of being a heck of a blocking FB. though wouldnt it be ironic if we signed former Brown FB Terrell Smith. he came in for a visit a while back and is a real bruiser. i personally wouldnt mind seeing him or jamar martin in our backfield next year.

oddly enough i was just wondering the same thingearlier today. heres what i found. not to bad! i really hope we can grab him late. say 6th round or so. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/wolfe_garrett

[please fix subject]Kevan Barlow?
JPL7 replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are only a handful of additional backs I even want to see in a Bills uni next year. All of course depending on what circumstances go down etc. Here is my list: Michael Turner (swap 1st's and give them an additional 4th or 3rd at best) Adrian Peterson (If things fall through with Turner or if the asking price is too much, trade up and get AP) Antonio Pittman (if he is avaliable in the 3rd, i say go for it) Kenny Irons (I could go either way with him. He is a fall back guy should Turner and AP not be avaliable for us) Garret Wolff (Would be a nice scat back late in the draft. 5th or 6th rounder) JUST SAY NO TO: Marshawn Lynch (Overrated for sure. Please NO!) Michael Bush (injury proned already and i dont think he will be much more then a TJ Duckett) -
ironically enough, look on his casualty list and low and behold look who is number one on Darwins list of sacks! go figure! haha!

T. Smith is available now, our next FB?
JPL7 replied to cash2cap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he is similar in style to Shelton, except he is younger. a real bruiser back who is a pure lead blocker. no catching out of the backfield, etc. i wouldnt mind seeing him in Buffalo for the right deal. -
We should trade down and pick up Wills or Poulz (whoever is left) and take Antonio Pittman or Bush in the 2nd round. I'm thinking Pittman may even be around late in the second, early in the 3rd. He's the guy, I'm tellin yah!
-
I really really believe a steal in this draft (best bang for your buck value) is Antonio Pittman from Ohio State. He is underrated and under the radar right now. We could possibly grab him with our 3rd round pick. Or depending on what we can get for McGahee (I'm hoping a late second or early third rounder) we could grab Pittman with that pick. I live in Columbus (no im not a buckeye fan) and have watched this kid the last 3 years and can say he is the real deal. He can run inside or outside the tackles. He can block and runs extremely hard. Without question one of the most underrated players in the draft this year. Just my 2 cents!

ha right!! u think bush would let this kid off the hook??? please!! if he did, part of the deal would be that bush could send him to fight in iraq or something idiotic like that.

I swear to God I was thinking the exact same thing!

im tellin you guys we should draft Pittman in the second round. I cant imagine he wouldnt be availiable and it would be realistic to get a second rounder for Mcgahee. This kid is the real deal. He absolutely will be one of the best bang for your buck picks out there. I live in columbus (no i am not an OSU fan) and have watched this kid for 3 years. He can run inside or outside the tackles. Is smart and patient with the ball. Can catch out of the backfield. Is without question one of the most underrated players out there. He hasnt declared yet, but I would be completely surprised if he didnt come out.

i thought he was on our practice squad? what happened to that

Is an NFL athlete the year's most ovverated?
JPL7 replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the reasons u listed about why drivers are athletes doesnt hold up. the lynchpin to say whats a sport and what isnt, is whether what they do is athletic. and im sorry, but driving is not athletic. sports are also called "athletics". thus u should be doing something that takes athletic ability. and furthermore, in my opinion, to be a sport the person must be doing the majority of the athletic movement. so horse racing, auto racing, etc are not sports. the horse and the car are doing the majority of the work. so unless u cut a hole in the bottom of the car (ala flinstones style) auto racing is not a sport, thus the drivers are not athletes. just b/c something is difficult or hard does not mean its athletic. building a rockt would be hard, but thats not athletic is it? -
im thinking there was some dirty sh-- going on in the scrum for the onside kick that injured 42 for the Chargers. b/c schottenheimer had a really pissed off look on his face after that and when he shook hands with jaroun. i hope that is not the case.

here is the misleading component with that stat........... yea we are 12th and SD is 21, but the key for a stat like that, is your percentage of seats filled in regards to your stadium capacity. and look who falls dead last in that category. sad to say folks, but that is telling!!

where was this at?? i didnt see anything on the front page when i looked -
i live in columbus, ohio and watch the buckeyes pretty regularly. and though im not a fan like everyone else in this stupid town, but i do root for them for the sake of the city. and being a watcher of Troy Smith the last 3 years, i think that there is something missing with his game in the sense that i dont think he will transition quite well to the NFL. i want him to do well and he looks like he should/could. hes calm, cool, accurate, mobile, has a laser arm. though he is a lil short, there is just something that makes me think he wont do well in the NFL. anyone else think or notice this?? just curious! peace

Memo to Bills Daily staff and my fellow fans
JPL7 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh and by the way i never even mentioned anything about the grades themselves. i made a point regarding the reasoning for the grades and the irrational thought behind it. you can tell while reading the article that the emotion of losing that game the way we did is weighing heavily in the way they describe JP's performance. the "overthrow", the fumble, etc. thats all im saying!
