Match the coach with the team
Enemarty replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jets - Marrone Bears - Marrone 49ers - Marrone Raiders - Marrone Falcons - Ryan, with Marrone as OC Bills - Bevell I realize this will create issues for the NFL schedulers, but I really think Marrone can handle all of these jobs at once. More importantly, Marrone thinks he can handle all of these jobs at once. -
Bills GM wants next coach to revive EJ Manuel

But you've done a service with your post, as I will now avoid giving it a page hit. -
Bills GM wants next coach to revive EJ Manuel
Enemarty replied to Joaquin1119's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. Anything less and why even have an interview. You need to challenge the candidates to come up with something interesting. -
Apologies if this link has already been posted on this thread, and also apologies that this is a La Canfora piece, although to be fair, he was a Redskins beat reporter before getting on the national stage, so he has some basis to level the criticism he does, but this article at least suggests that MS may not come with top assistants. Also, not mentioned in the article, but certainly relevant, Haslett was among Shanahan's first hires. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24373508/snyder-rg3-made-mistakes-but-this-skins-disaster-is-all-shanahans

I don't find Sullivan as distasteful as many on here, but this is a really stupid, moaning article.

Raiders interested in Russ Brandon
Enemarty replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are those who look at Russ and the Bills in a certain way and immediately realize his continued value to this franchise. Then there are those that simply don't. Many of the latter group continue to conflate their frustration with many of Ralph's football decisions with Russ's inclusion in his inner circle. The two have to be viewed in isolation. No one can dispute that Russ has performed his main function to perfection. It was only when Ralph began to step away from his normal overly involved approach to ownership and there was no one else to make football decisions that Russ reluctantly filled a void. He said himself at the time that he would do his best, despite his non-football background. Frankly, the elevation of Doug W and the hiring of Doug M are solid football moves. Most on here love the former and while many question the latter, as has been established on several anti-Doug M threads, Doug M is well thought of league wide and, again as noted elsewhere, led this team to a winning record with EJ and Orton. Remember, he was still playing with Ralph's money, hence an established coach wasn't going to be part of the picture (I would say especially after Ralph sort of got played by Shanahan). Getting Doug M may have been viewed at the time as "the same old" but I think the better way to think about it is that he didn't let the organization's prior failures in going for the inexpensive "elevate the coordinator" route prevent him from considering Doug M. Also, as a marketing wiz, you don't think Russ realized the possible negative fall out of elevating a Payton coordinator (i.e., not necessarily running the offensive show), who managed to win a few games with Syracuse, to the top job for the Bills. Of course he did. Yet (I suspect through consultation with many football people), he went that way anyway. That suggests that he possesses some fine management/decision-making skills. I think Mr. Pegula will do himself a big favor by making sure there is a place for Russ going forward. -
How can you compare Watkins & Beckham

Hope this link helps... http://www.buffaloru...o-bills-targets well done sir. -
Would Pegula prefer the Bills play in the AFC North?
Enemarty replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, there was this moment involving Bills - Jets, the beginning of the run.... http://www.nytimes.c...east-crown.html http://bills.buffalo...-greatest-wins/ A night that still brings a smile to my face. Holy crap, they are taking the goal posts to Ralph's box! Too bad I was in the upper deck. -
I bought a Kelly jersey in 1989 and have had no desire to buy another Bills jersey since. I guess over the years I've moved away from buying player related items and have limited my Bills-related purchases to items containing only the team name and logo. This year I bought a Fred jersey as a personal tribute to the man because, to me, not since Darryl Talley has a player "represented" the way Fred does.

Most Exciting Bills Game Ever
Enemarty replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Maybe the most exciting first quarter or first half. And the comeback was the most exciting second half, but the first half sucked. The 77 seconds was awesome, but the game up to the blocked kick was disappointing for me. I think the no punt game was probably one of the most exciting from start to finish, but I was limited to television, so the game day experience was lacking. -
where is the link to the new owner wearing a peter pan outfit??

Andre Reed Elected into the Pro Football HOF
Enemarty replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Possibly, but that's only because they will be building a new Hall of Super Fame for Kiko! -
Funny, the times I've supported Denver in past Super Bowls had nothing to do with the team or city, I just liked their quarterback (Elway, not Morton). This year, same deal - I've always liked Peyton. I will say that personally, the NFL gods have been unusually harsh to us Buffalo folk, as had Tom Brady played for a team outside our division (and had the success he's had), a lot of us would be happy to see him add the icing onto an already stellar NFL career. Certainly, it fits with our "regular guy" attitude that a 6th round pick outperformed the no. 1 overall guy routinely over the course of their careers. But, as Bills fans, although we can acknowledge his accomplishments, we can't fully enjoy them.

What is your second favorite NFL team?
Enemarty replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't pick a second team. There can only be one (said in a scottish accent). Seriously, I support the Bills year round. Come playoff time, I may root for a particular team, usually, like many on here, one with a similar fan base (except I'm sick of Pittsburgh) or hard luck story (which was why the Broncos-Packers Super Bowl was kind of difficult - I finally decided to support the QB class of 1983). Hell, I didn't even mind the Patriots winning their first SB as living in DC, where, according to local media and Redskins fans, only four teams play in the NFL (i.e., the NFC East), I tend to support the AFC team. Of course, the years have made it difficult to support the Patriots, but as an "older" fan, my true hatred is reserved for the Dolphins, as they were the nemesis during my childhood years. This year, going with my AFC leanings, I, like others, wouldn't mind seeing the Chargers win one. I also would like to see Peyton brush off some of his talking-head detractors with another ring. However, I don't have a lot of love for an organization that gets possibly the best QB ever, has one bad season when he is hurt, and drafts who we were all drooling about for four years as his replacement. So, if either the Colts or the Pats get to the dance, I'm going with the NFC, where Marshawn may overrule my natural distaste for Pete Carroll, or my 70-80s sympathy toward Saints fans may come into play, or, if it comes to it, the fairly inoffensive Panthers will get my support. But, if the 49ers end up playing either the Pats or Colts, I'll watch my taped copy of the comeback! -
I saw Montana over the weekend in a shoe commercial. He looked rather sprite, but maybe it was the shoes... ... I'll get my coat.

unless the team that currently owns his rights floats a trade rumor around to ensure that Byrd hits the field flying...

It's time to sit/trade EJ
Enemarty replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I would have waited 20-30 minutes before posting the post just to see the meltdown, but seeing some of the reaction leads me to agree with you. No wonder the English like to poke fun at Americans about our failure to "get" sarcasm. -
I'm so done with this thread. Think I'll try the other one.

Rogers signed to colts 53 man roster
Enemarty replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this. -
I think he will. I know I will. In that split second when EJ was picked, but before I realized there was a flag on the field, I felt satisfied that the team had taken another step in the right direction. Sure I was disappointed that, in that instant, we appeared to have come up short, but was overall pleased with what I thought was in many ways a solid performance from the team. Maybe that is lowered expectations, but I look at it, as KTD mentions above, part of the maturation process of a young team, young coaching staff and young front office. So, if we don't get a PI this week that allows us to steal the W at the end, but otherwise, as you say, take positive steps, I'll be very happy.

Patriots Claim former Bills LB Chris White
Enemarty replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes it does and it's damn frustrating. However, I can't agree that it is some secret plan of NE. As No Saint suggests, it's far more likely that the NFL schedule geeks find it convenient to drop us into that slot and it's also more likely that they are thick enough not to realize they keep doing it every year, than it would be to think NE is devious enough to arrange to play us after every bye, and stupid enough to do it so often that it's such an obvious outlier that questions would be raised.
