Marvez on how the Gilmore injury hurts us: http://msn.foxsports...patriots-082713 But, "Bad News Bills"? I mean coooooome onnnnnnnn. Also, it's funny when I read an article full of Marrone quotes I actually hear his voice and read it in his syncopation...

Who`s going to the season opener?
Heitz replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will be there with beers on! In fact, this will be the third annual Home Opener RV trip... Me a couple friends are driving from VT and picking up an RV in East Aurora on Friday, rolling to the RV lot at 8am on Saturday and grilling and chilling until the game, then returning the RV and to VT on Monday. If you've never done the RV thing at a game, it's totally worth it - so many good people over there and there's nothing liking hanging out across from The Ralph all day Saturday! Good people, food, drinks and lawn games. And RVs through a certain national RV rental chain are less than $500 for the weekend - divide by four (or more) and it's the least expensive place you can stay. Definitely going to swing by the TBD tailgate and naturally TBD is welcome to stop by VT-RV for a nice cold Miller High Life! Oh and despite The Worst 48 Hours In the History Of The Bills, I am still more fired up than ever! Those that go to Bills games ONLY for a win are missing the forest for the trees... -

Bills plan for Tuel as week 1 starter

The Sirius interview with Mike Leach on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.c...f-tuels-college (edit) There's a LOUD Sirius ad at the beginning and end of the clip; nice of them to put it out, but holy cow. Paging The Senator... -
Also... How does the new stadium bag policy tie into Brandon's desire to lose? And they always take FA's to Tempo, what's up with that? And just who IS this suspicious cab drive that Berman always refers to? And once, in the 90's, they had a Marlboro billboard in the stadium but *you couldn't smoke* in the stadium - it... made... no... sense... Explain yourself Mr. Brandon, explain yourself!

Ha - right back at ya, one of my favorite flicks of all time for sure. I went as Duder one Halloween, wore a robe, drank Caucasians, great time! Also, pursuant to the subject of the thread (and The Dude, I guess), I also very much enjoy relaxing. -

Yeah, waving the f*****g gun around!? -
Here's something we can be happy about - everyone wanted the Bills to get more coverage on NFLN and ESPN, well, we're getting it. ESPN was talking Bills earlier and NFLN just did a nice long segment on the Bills including an optimistic look at Tuel (or they at least didn't use the word "doomed"). One thing's for sure, it's going to be a wild ride to week one and I'm gonna enjoy it... to the positivity thread!

Bills Trade for Lions QB Thaddeus Lewis

From Murph @johnmurphyshow': More on QB Thad Lewis from @viccarucci of the Browns tonight at 815pm on the show. Should be a good listen... -
Bills reportedly concerned Kolb's career over
Heitz replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does this mean we have to take back all those "good luck in whatever's next" posts? Glad to hear things seem as good as they can be. Surprised the protocol would keep him out for "some time" - I would have guessed a couple weeks, but the NFL isn't messing around with the concussions! Makes me think of all the times I've cracked my head snowboarding, skating or riding my bike... -
Well, after three years I guess there is no "suddenly" - but I hear ya. And I don't necessarily agree. Just because it hasn't happened for him in two seasons doesn't mean that it won't. At least he putting in the work, paying attention and trying to make it happen, doesn't sound to me that Rogers was will do to that... Just like everything in the NFL, time will tell. But if this were me I take the hard worker that's buying to my system, over the guy with potential that is always horsing around.
-
Yeah, I guess I just disagree. Give me the guy that working hard throughout camp, that's catching everything that's thrown his way and that actually IS making plays vs. a guy who someday, because he was good in college, MIGHT make plays. As for saying Hogan will "never develop into more than he is", that's just not something you can predict. Look at Stevie, a late round pick that developed into more than he was by working his ass off (#HBHF). Hogan had a good off-season last year, almost making a roster and looks to have improved on that enough this year to make a roster (maybe, of course) And I'm not saying his attitude would bring the team down, but the coaches unfair treatment of "production" vs "potential development" is where I think it gets sticky. Marrone is preaching hard work and a fair chance to make the team - I just don't see how you put the guy that's constantly not paying attention and screwing around on the team...
-
But, dude, it's so much more fun to cry about things that we can't change. How do people on this board handle adversity at work? Sometimes things don't go as planned, but you adjust, move on with what you have and hope for the best (and that you're Sr Management has trained you to handle the situation). You don't curl into ball and give-up... BTW, I'm still smiling - hell I just gave a guy walked down the hall here at JFK a big 'ol "LET'S GO BUFFALO!" when I spotted his Bills T! Smile and the world smiles with you...
-
So you're going to give a guy that hasn't put in the work, that doesn't pay attention and that hasn't made any plays "an extended chance"? What message does that send to the other players grinding hard to make the team? "Oh well, no matter how hard I work, the guy with the potential wins". Sorry, but Marrone doesn't operate this way... I just don't get the man love for Rogers. People on this board need to listen to more GR55 - Murph, pre-game and post-games always provide insight on players. As has been mentioned, Chris Brown, Joe B and others who have been at practice every day have repeatedly commented on Rogers' gaffes and lack of effort. After the game last week the first 3 callers we're whining to Sal that they were sad Rogers didn't get on the filed - eventually he basically said "shut up, the guy didn't put in the effort and doesn't deserve to be on the field." It's pretty much that simple...

Bills reportedly concerned Kolb's career over

But the bridge *could* be out there (and it might be down!) - best to just pull the car over, get out and forget about driving... We all know its ONLY about the destination, not the journey -
Bills reportedly concerned Kolb's career over
Heitz replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly drafting two QBs is the only thing that could make this crowd happy (or bringing back Fitz which wasn't going to happen in a "new beginning" year). Of course, had we drafted Nassib as our second QB we would STILL be screwed with the preseason he's having... And for everyone saying "Kolb is fragile" and despite having two previous concussions he still had to get hit hard enough for his brain to bash into his skull. It wasn't like he got a love tap and was carted off. -
For those freaking over the lack of first downs (or general proficiency) of the O, you do know an undrafted rookie QB was at the helm for most of the game, right? Everyone knows how hard it is for a rookie QB - even one drafter first overall. I dare say no team wins many games with Tuel at QB and Choice at RB...

Bills bringing in Leinart, Beck for tryouts
Heitz replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly - Marrone said as much. I don't think they expect either Beck or Leinart to replace Kolb, just to have someone to throw balls... We just need to pray that EJ comes back by week one. I doubt that a concussion will keep Kolb out two weeks. -
Are we still mathematically alive?
Heitz replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Better question - are we still *actually* alive? There were a LOT of people on ledges last night... -
I've heard this a ton (mostly from Theismann during the NFLN broadcast - shut up dude) and while it's true, it's true for any offense. If you get 0 first downs in a half, your D is gonna get worn down...
-
Sal on WGR talked about the Bills playing a more vanilla D in the first half. When they dialed up more pressure in the second half, they got sacks. Still a worrying performance, but maybe it wasn't the D we'll see in the season..
