  1. Yes it was a tip. The Buffalo Bills defense was credited today through all the fantasy football leagues with the field goal block. In this day and age that is serious business lol
  2. Fitzpatrick throwing for 150 yards is the problem in Buffalo?? It seems as though to me that we have won every game this year where the defense didnt allow 45 points. 45 FREAKING POINTS! Wouldnt one think that is our problem? Fitz has shown that he can throw for 300 yards, and 3 tds. Unfortunately that doesnt always equal winning football. We dont have Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, Tom Brady, etc etc. We have more or less Alex Smith, Michael Crabtree, etc etc. If the 49ers have shown us one thing its that a team can be a very good playoff, and even Super Bowl contender, with a decent QB, sound running game, and a great defense. We have the personnel for this formula.
  3. I dont think you guys realize that St Louis has one of the best defenses in football. This was no coicidence. Chris Long and Robert Quinn are FARRRRRRRRRRRRR better than our DE. Their LB are always FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR better than ours. Their secondary is FARRRRRRRRRRRR better than ours. We have a fairly explosive offense, and the Rams dont. Especially without Amendola. Thats our advantage in this game. Certainly not abusing Kevin Kolb.
  4. Yes he will get burned many more times this year. BUT MY OH MY what a game he had this weekend. That was the one and only bright spot I saw in that game. He was a blanket. Unfortunately, even Darelle Revis gets burned. Your secondary is only as good as your pass rush, and right now that is not too good
  5. Yes I agree we did, but there are plenty of teams who played the Jets and Patriots much closer than we did so it works both ways. Some weeks you match up great with a team, other weeks horrible. Only the elite teams go 7-0 to close out a season. We are far from that. I dont care who we are playing. Not to mention yes everyone of those games are winnable. However I would be shocked if we are favored vs the Jets, Patriots, Seahawks, or even the way things are going the road game in Miami. I mean the Dolphins beat us twice last year, the Jets and Patriots already mauled us this year, and the Seahawks are a very good team. All I am saying is to say we can possibly win close games against these teams is conceivable. However, a team that was 6-10 last year, and has been blown out in our only 2 division games this year (after going 1-7 in division last year) certainly should NOT be penciling in "gimme games". If anything the Jaguars and Colts fans are thinking that WE are one of the few winnable games they have. They would be correct in their thinking.
  6. The Bears are a LOCK!!! As much as there can be a lock in the NFL the Bears are it. The Jaguars will never move the ball on that playmaking defense. Nor will the Jags be able to stop the much improved Bears offense. That team is going to get better week by week. If they keep Cutler upright that guy is as good as anyone in football. I LOVE the Falcons and Bears this week. Probably my two favorite. Baltimore as well. It gets a little touchy with the bigger spreads, because teams score so many garbage points in the NFL, and cover those bigger spreads. I can see the Bills being down in a blowout late 24 to 10, and scoring a late meaningless touchdown with 15 seconds left. That kind of stuff happens soooo often with those big spreads. Prime example the Ravens and Browns last Thursday night.
  7. It is going to be a very tough year to make the playoffs. I dont see how Cincy is a lock over San Diego and Pittsburgh. Last year was an off year for both of those teams, but they havent really shown that this year, nor have the Bengals shown they are capable of that kind of run either. They have won some tight games against light opponents, but they have a brutal second half. With Peyton Manning joining the AFC that pretty well just added another team who will snatch won of our hopeful playoff spots every year. I cant imagine too many seasons from here on out for the next few years that Schaub, Ben, Brady, Manning, Flacco, and Rivers will not have immediate playoff spots.
  8. I am glad everyone on this board is experienced defensive coordinators, but Dave Wannstedt has been one of the most well respected, and top defensive coaches in the NFL over the past 2 decades. It would be a little hard for me to believe that he no longer knows what he is doing. Personnel is the problem here. KW and Dareus are bonified stars. Our secondary has some up and comers. Other than that unless Mario pans out in a big way, we really dont have as much talent on this team as many of you want to think. Kelvin Sheppard, Arthur Moats, Kirk Morrison, and Nick Barnett are not a legitimate starting LB'ing corps. Not when the opposing team has Navarro Bowman and Patrick Willis. Then you have your teams like the Patriots and Packers that can have mediocore defenses because their offense will get them 40 points a week over the course of a season. We are far from that! Mark Anderson has always been a situational pass rusher, and has only been a decent pass rusher once out of the past 5 years (and that was with the Patriots who can scheme anyone as a pass rusher). To expect him to be an every down star was a pipe dream for all of us.
  9. In my opinion, Atlanta, GB, Baltimore, & Chicago are locks. I will be taking all of those games one way or another. I cant bet against my bills, but if someone was going to give me 1k to guess the score correctly I would say SF 28 to BUF 10. Not sure why on earth people compare this game to New England, but if you think we are a bad matchup against the Jets you have no idea what we are in store for against the 49ers. That says nothing about our team, because we know we are not elite, but this 49ers team is a top 3 team in football. We are not even top 15 yet.
  10. I find it laughable that anyone can pencil in wins for us. Other teams do that to the Bills, not the other way around. What on earth have we done that shows we can finish 7-0 in college football? Let alone the NFL!! Was it our 1 division win last year? Was it our longest playoff drought in the NFL? Was it our superb performance this weekend at home vs our division rival (the only division game we won last year)?? Just curious
  11. Sorry Jim, but beating them once in 9 seasons doesnt negate the dominance that they have had over us. We are not talking about the 1970s Dolphins. We are talking about the 2012 Buffalo Bills. This streak is current! Not to be compared with a 40 year old streak. This brutal onslaught is still going on! That is why the Patriots games are important. It represents a new time in the AFC East when they no longer have a gimme game vs the Bills. Unfortunately, nothing has changed just because we squeaked out a comeback win last year during a 6-10 season. As we all saw unfortunately there is no changing of the guard anytime soon.
  12. Definitely agree! As long as there is Tom Brady, and Bill Belichick working together this team will not be bad. It just isnt going to happen. Everyone should hope that we can improve rather than banking on the Patriots falling off a cliff. They have had the worst defense in the league a few different times, and have BY FAR been the most dominant team of the last decade.
  13. I really hope to win badly, but playing the Pats after two straight losses would not be my first choice. It does not come down to a coin flip if it hasnt happened in 10 years. That sounds more like a 2 headed coin to me. I am thrilled we pulled that game out last year, but dont forget we were down 21-0 in that game, and couldve easily been routed at home. I am so nervous for this one. If we wouldve looked at least decent against the Jets I would be more confident, but hopefully this roll continues. We picked Brady off 4 times in that game, and still won it at the last second. We need to play our best, and hope that Pats are at their worst this weekend. How great would it be to be considered the AFC East favored Buffalo Bills!! Its all about the Pats because theyve beaten us 17 out of the last 18 games, and had the longest active streak over us for the last 9 seasons. That is dominance.
  14. Ive gotta be honest, by the time you have anyone do this you might as well just buy a China jersey.
  15. I dont believe this is true at all. if it is that is purely a shame. Moorman is a huge asset. Anyone who bashes him is ignorant. The guy has been a top 3 punter in the NFL for years now, a great holder for Lindell, and a great asset for gadget plays. This would make sense on no level at all. With the loyalty of the Bills with guys like Maybin, Easley, Mccargo, Troup, etc etc etc I can not even fathom that this can really happen. If so I think its disgusting.
  16. Would have no problem if they stopped serving alcohol at games. It will never happen, but I think it would make the experience much better. Yes there are 10,000 people who can handle their alcohol, but there is always one NEARBY who cant. I was arrested there last year for LITERALLY HOLDING AN INTOXICATED DOLPHINS FAN who was trying to attack me. It taught me two things at football games. 1 Dont try and behave yourself and do the right thing because you will be in jail anyway, and 2. Stay home and watch. I was still taken to jail while this idiot is wrestling 5 police officers. I dont drink so I was stone cold sober trying to reason with the guy to calm down because I felt bad for him. Next thing I know I am in a cell with this POS. I couldnt believe it!
  17. Chan gets no love for the following reasons 1. We all got screwed on the over of 44 as we held our breath while Bryan Scott runs to the 1yrd line 2. We all hoped Fitzpatrick sneaks it up the middle for a TD to help his stats that we all had to hear about last year 3. We rarely are in a position to blow another team out on the road.
  18. Who cares about "bothering" the guy. I love Stevie as much as any Bills fan, but I surely doubt he would have any problem greeting a fan of his. In fact he goes out of his way to make sure he is one of the more recognizable players in the league any time he makes a play. In my opinion if a professional athlete or actor/actress wants to go out in public they should expect a couple of people to bother them. It goes with the territory. You and I worry about paying our mortgage. They worry about signing an autograph. Sounds like we all have our issues. I'll trade any day. If you want people to buy your tickets, your jerseys, see your movies, etc than you shouldnt have a problem if these same people want to say hello in a reasonable manor. While I totally understand your view on the situation, I have met Stevie J on a number of occassions, and dont think any fan should feel they are disrespecting a player by letting them know they are a fan. Their salaries are essentially paid by the fans, and most of them know that (the Bills players at least)
  19. Not for nothing, but if Scott Chandler can find a long term home with this team I dont see why Chris Cooley couldnt. I would love having those two guys on the field for certain sets. Chan is an offensive genius in my opinion, and he gets a ton out of very little talent. However, while that is happening I think they need to shop for that talent as well.
  20. Wide receiver is our biggest, and most obvious need in my opinion. I have faith that Nix and Chan are getting things done their way though. You have to figure the mess they inherited. This season will be a HUGE HUGE telling point, as to whether they are slowly turning the team around or just staying status quo. Lets face it, our whole offense is compiled of guys that would be #2's on most other teams (other than Freddie). Its a shame that they inherited such a mess, because with the amount of top 12 picks this team has had over the past decade there is no way we should be in this mess. I dont think I can remember a team that has failed on so many 1st & 2nd round picks in such a short time span (mccargo, lynch, spiller, mckelvin, troup, maybin, whitner, hardy, poz, etc). Imagine if we made solid picks in even HALF of those drafts. I feel like most of Buddy & Chan's picks are panning out, and we are starting to move forward.
  21. Lee Evans is done and over the hill, yet inconsistent players who have done ZERO in the NFL such as Jones, Easley, Roosevelt, and Hagan have NFL rosters?? Thats a joke. I would take Lee Evans as our number two still to this day without a question. Say what you want about the guy, but he is the only talent we have had at wideout since Eric Moulds (and of course Stevie still on the team). Lets please not make the Bills front office heros for trading away Lee Evans for Ron Brooks. Especially when we spent two high picks on CBs before selecting Brooks in the last two drafts. Lee always put up solid numbers with horrendous QBs, offensive lines, and no help on the other side of the field. Give the guy a break, especially when we are still crossing our fingers that MARCUS FREAKIN EASLEY CAN PLAY IN THE NFL!!!
  22. Very sad, this is obviously another case of the collisions having their long term effects on guys. I am glad the NFL has finally started taking the proper steps in preventing at least SOME of the big time collisions, but sad that its too late for many guys.
  23. I fully believe in this rumor. Kalil has been on the Bills radar for a long time now in my opinion. The relationship that Kelly has with Kalil's dad is too much to overlook. The notion of the Bills trading up to get Claiborne is ridiculous. Especially with Gilmore on the board. There is no doubt in my mind the Bills are trying to do whatever they can to make Kalil a Bill. Between his Dad's history with the team and city, and his friendship with Kelly (his USFL center with the Gamblers) I have to believe that behind the scenes they've been trying to get this deal done. There is not another quality tackle in this draft. You trade what you need to trade and get this guy in here. He is the best tackle to come out since Jake Long & Joe thomas. Any other year, and it takes the 1st overall team 5 seconds to get to the podium with this guys name.
  24. Thanks for the tip about Wood being a center. I am fully aware of what position he plays LOL. However, our offensive line is not your "traditional offensive line". Guys have to play every position on the damn line, because we dont have enough talent to form a solid unit. That may be why we continue to have no success. We keep building the interior line, while the outside of the line gets no attention. Finally, Bell starts to play decent so we let him go. WE NEED A TACKLE!!! How can anyone say that we need a guard more than a tackle. We needed a tackle even with Bell on the roster. This is no exaggeration. A guard is the LAST POSITION we need to pick in this draft. Tackle, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Linebacker, Defensive Back, and EVEN ANOTHER DEFENSIVE LINEMAN would all be more of a need than an OG. Also Levitre is a solid guard, and Wood has been both a solid center and guard during his time with us. Neither guy has made a pro bowl in his career. Please tell me why on earth Decastro is going to come in and be a pro bowl guard for 10 years?????? I highly doubt that my friend. There is a reason guards dont get picked in the top 10. Take a look at the pro bowl guards for the last 10 years and let me know when they were selected in the draft. Give me a break man
  25. Why on earth would anyone say that Decastro is a good pick at #10 when arguably the two best players on our team are Levitre and Wood. Yes, depth is FANTASTIC to have in the NFL. However, depth comes after quality starters!! If you are missing quality starters on half your roster, you dont start drafting "depth" with the 10th overall pick. That is just ridiculous. Wood and Levitre can easily both be resigned. We have more cap room than virtually any team in the NFL. Those guys are the core of our team, and I have a strong feeling the reason they get hurt every year is because they are asked to do it all due to the lack of talent on the rest of the line. A Decastro pick would be similar to us picking Quentin Couples after we just spent 120 million on Mario Williams and Mark Anderson. That would be utterly ridiculous
