  1. The only guys on that board that are even real possibilities IMO are Rieff & Floyd. I think we definitely need offensive line help, but I dont see Riley Rieff being a solid player in the NFL. He reminds me exactly of Bryan Bulaga who fell quite a bit in the draft for the "short arms", but he has been a good player so far. The only problem is that we arent the GB Packers by a long shot. In a best case scenario I would like to see us select in this order: 1. Matt Kalil (trade up if he falls past the Vikes to the #7 or #8 pick. this guy is "cant miss" and has Bills ties due to his dad playing with us, and also being Jim Kelly's center) 2. Justin Blackmon- (same scenario as Kalil, as long as the move isnt too crazy where we have to give up our whole draft) 3. Michael Floyd- assuming that we stay at #10 I think this is the guy who will be an immediate playmaker, and more importantly take a lot of pressure off of Fitz, and Stevie with his size, strength, and speed P.S. I would really like to see us targeting one of these free agent tackles. There is a couple out there that could definitely start for us (Goldberg, Keith, McNeill, etc)
  2. I think this is a little bit of an overreaction. McNabb has done more in one season then Fitz has done in a career. I am happy with Fitz & love him as our QB, but McNabb was a great QB in his day. McNabb should've kept his mouth shut, but i fully believe that the Shanahans in Washingto n are a mess. John Beck, Rex Grossman, Tim Hightower, Anthony Armstrong,Ryan Torain, etc as their big name guys?? They are making the Bills look like big winners with what is going on in DC.
  3. Why do you guys think he would be so expensive?? He really isnt being regarded as a high priced free agent at all. Plus he played very well for Atlanta last year. Last year was the first year he did anything at all for them. Kind of a late bloomer, but in my opinion the perfect guy that you can get for a fraction of what he is really worth and let him enter his prime as a Bill rather than vice versa. Every scheme is different as well. I think more of the reason that he is expendable for Atlanta is that Weatherspoon is so dominant that they can move him around, and they love Akeem Dent as well. The guy has improved leaps and bounds each year of his career, and he was real close to being a star last season. I would say this is the type of guy we would love to bring in. I dont see him getting 6 million dollars a season at all.
  4. Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but why aren't we trying to go after this guy a little bit. I dont think anyone can argue that LB is at least a little bit of a need for us, and this guy is a STUD PLAYER entering the prime of his career. Just like everyone else I am SOOOOO excited about the Mario signing, but how come no other moves? Even one or two would be nice before the draft. I would love to see this guy in Buffalo. This would be a HUGE upgrade from Poz, let alone the guys we have now. Yes Morrison, Barnett, Sheppard, Moats, are all solid players. I think our Dline and DBs are above average. Add a guy like Lofton I think that would make us above average at all the defensive positions, as well as give us that much needed depth that destroyed us last year. Any thoughts??
  5. While I agree Troup is a total waste of space, lets not pretend that Gronkowski would be breaking any records as a Buffalo Bill. Scott Chandler has been a very bright spot for us this year. He is definitely a serviceable tight end for our offense. Its the wide receivers that are the joke of the NFL. These guys drop more passes than any group I have ever seen. We MUST MUST get a big time AJ Green, Julio Jones type of rookie receiver in my book. Stevie Johnson shows signs of greatness with long stretches of invisibility, and that is why he is a solid #2. Id love to see us get a sure handed monster on the other side. Nelson, Jones, Roosevelt can fight it out for #3 time.
  6. Anyone who says Pat is too old to still play can watch the younger Torell Troup and Kellen Heard get hurt or steamrolled all day long. ID LOVE PAT BACK IN BUFFALO!
  7. Man was he ever!! He is one of my all time favorite Bills. Ive gotta say even to this day at his age he really hasnt lost anything. I guess thats the advantage of being a huge run stopper. Your age doesnt really hurt you as much as the pass rushers and linebackers.
  8. Hey Guys, Sorry if someone posted this already and I didnt see it. What do you guys think about the slim possibility of bringing Pat Williams back to Buffalo. Id say for sure he would be a nice run stopper to add into the defensive front occasionally. Obviously Troup is either a bust or a project, and either way I think we would benefit quite a bit from Pat. He has a lot of play left in my opinion. He has always been the underdog, and Id figure if anyone has the inside track on signing him at the very least he is familiar with our team. Especially being 2-0 we look a little more attractive than normal. Any thoughts?
  9. Its not really a "former" pro bowler when he has made the last 5 pro bowls. I would say thats a current pro bowler. Not that we will sign him but its so funny that no one is an upgrade on our line. Poor Fitzpatrick is going to have his promising career shattered in one season if he plays behind this line as it is now. His confidence will be shot just like what happened with Edwards
  10. Definitely a solid signing. Dont judge this guy last year in Jacksonville. He is more of 3-4 LB like he was in Oakland, and he was a little out of place in Jacksonville. This is a very good signing IMO and adds much needed depth with the likelyhood of a starter. The rotation of veterans Davis, Morrison, and Barnett is an absolutely dream situation to bring up Sheppard slowly. I really think our run defense is much improved. Our OL is still a mess of course. Everyone on this board acts like McKinnie would have been a disaster yet a quality franchise like Baltimore picks him right up and makes him an immediate starter at left tackle. Meanwhile we are taking our only two good lineman and playing them at every position on the line to try and find some kind of protection for our sitting duck. I dont think it can be anymore obvious that the staff is not happy with our tackle situation. There has been so many that have come and gone. I dont see why they cant bring SOMEONE decent in.
  11. Im sorry John, but the problem in Buffalo was never Lee Evans. Say what you want about him being the stereotypical number one receiver, but a guy who puts up 70 or so yards in the first quarter of a preseason game a week after joining the team is ok in my book. Unfortunately we will all see what he does with a respectable QB, and a solid franchise like Baltimore. Call me a pessimist, but its tough to get excited about David Nelson, Namaan Roosevelt, and Donald Jones. Its actually borderline embarassing. Draft Lee Evans in your fantasy football leagues if your smart because this guy finally has broken away from our horrid franchise, and can finally show his true abilities. I am very sad to see him go. This team is not loaded with stars, and Lee has been one for us for several years.
  12. Post of the year right here. Id love to see you name ONE "really good young tackle" on this team, let alone 6 or 7 LOL. I love your optimism, but seriously man??
  13. No tackles are good enough for twobillsdrive. Dont even bother posting about any. Clearly Demetrius Bell and Erik Pears are the future of this franchise. Much like the fact that Gailey doesnt use a tight end, yet Fitzpatrick targeted the tight end on nearly half of his throws in the first preseason game. Lets turn up our noses at any player "we've heard of", and stick with Chandler, Bell, Wrotto, Wang, and the rest of our team of all pros. Then we can start Namaan Roosevelt or David Nelson at the other wide out position and we will win as many games as last year. Oh boy im pumped.
  14. Exactly! I agree that Lee wasn't a good fit with Gailey's "system", but he is a quality player on a team that has very few to spare. This was purely about money. Anyone who thinks differently is one of those fans that will defend anything and everything the front office does.
  15. There is such thing as planning for the future, and still remaining respectable while doing it. This team has no legitimate threat at wide out going into the year. Stevie Johnson had a horrendous second half to the season after he lost his confidence in the Steeler game. This staff made it obvious last year that Evans wasn't in the plans, but atleast have something more than Marcus Easley if you are going to dump your best wide out. The guy has never even played an NFL game. Is a 4th round pick really that valuable that we make this deal now? I cant wait for fantasy football. The steal of the draft will be Lee Evans in the 9th or 10th round.
  16. Yes its just been the depression issues, and a "lack of work ethic". Anyone who has ever suffered any kind of depression understands exactly what that is like so they kind of go hand and hand. Andrews is sort of an oddball character, but definitely a very good football player. I doubt we are even interested though. Why bring in a solid veteran tackle when you already have a roster full of scrubs at that position.
  17. Shawn Andrews is a very very good player. He was supposed to make ridiculous money with the Giants this year, and that was the sole reason they got rid of him. Just like the rest of their Oline that they let go, they are pretty well starting fresh, and Andrews was a big cap hit. In the past, Shawn had issues with clinical depression which can be very serious. Whenever that has been under control in his career (college & pro) he has been an absolute star. He has finally worked out his issues, and got himself on whatever medication is neccesary to keep this from recurring. I would LOVE to have Andrews in Buffalo. Its a pipe dream, but it would really make this line start to be impressive.
  18. If Gaither could pass our physical there would be no down side to signing him. I highly doubt that would happen. Shawn Andrews could pass a physical, and is also one of the most underrated free agents out there. This guy can still play, and whoever signs him this year will find that out. We will hang back and let Ed Wang get Fitzpatrick killed before we do that though. I am so sick of hearing that "we went after Clabo". Does that mean we are automatically exempt from pursuing another tackle LOL. Obviously, we felt as though we needed Clabo if we were going after him, so why does the search completely end at that position when we don't get him?? Makes absolutely no sense at all.
  19. IMO Kyle has to have another good year or two before we can really consider him an Aaron Schobel type player for us. Schobel was solid for a lot of years. Definitely not GREAT, but certainly good. This year should be interesting for KW on the line with some help. I cant wait to see that. I really hope we dont get rid of Lee. I still firmly believe he is our best WR. He wasn't targeted a whole lot last year, but that was Fitzpatricks first year in Chan's system, and QBs tend to go with one guy who they are comfortable with (ie. Stevie J). I think we will see a lot more from Lee this year, and compared to what we will get for him it would be ridiculous to trade him. He is one of the few guys with proven star potential on this team.
  20. Yes Green Bay does have the right plan. Get the a top 3 QB in football, a top 3 defense in football, a solid Oline, a top 5 tight end, a top 5 receiving corps, maybe the best LB corps in the NFL, and star defensive linemen and you will win games. Big mystery! We are exactly like Green Bay except without all the good players. Also the fact that we won 4 games, and they won the Super Bowl. Go tell Mommy and Daddy that you are using vulgar language on the computer, because if they read your posts you are definitely gonna get grounded little guy.
  21. Thank you "Mr Weo". I didn't even know where to begin with that genius. Scott Chandler LOL OMG!
  22. Nitpicking? Umm its tough not to nitpick a 4-12 team. Our worst season in years. Yes that is quite a corner you moron. The glaring whole was made by letting our own free agent leave town. Obviously a 4-12 team has more than one glaring need. I think YOU should check your facts you POS. Also, a stellar wide receiving core??? HAHAHAHA LOL. Is this Mr Nix online?? If you had an ounce of class I would think you were from the Bills front office.
  23. I wish everyone would stop making excuses for this team. I love them, and have loved them as long as I have been able to intelligently watch a football game. However, to sit here and say that this front office has a commitment to winning is a joke. We have a commitment to selling tickets, and making as much money as possible WITHOUT PUTTING IT BACK INTO THE TEAM. The original poster was definitely correct in a few things he said. I mean seriously, the last 10 days watching every last team in the NFL scramble to improve themselves and we do virtually nothing. We replace our decent LB with another decent LB, and we add a WR which is our only depth on the entire team. Say what you want about Miami, Washington, Cincinnati, etc, but those teams at least TRY to compete. Those teams have at least made playoff runs in the past 10 years. Those teams have won their division or atleast come real close THIS DECADE. All of them have gone to the playoffs several times. To argue that we are the worst franchise in the NFL is borderline ignorant. Its clear as day. We have the longest playoff drought in the entire NFL. I still love them, and spend hundreds to thousands a year on merchandise, and tickets, etc, but really guys. This organization makes a mockery out of the die hard fans that pour our heart into this team.
  24. Not sure why everyone is getting so worked up one way or the other. Taylor Mays was clearly drafted last year as a WORKOUT warrior. Everyone in the draft knew he was nowhere near Eric Berry or Earl Thomas, however he had amazing workouts, and showed he was one of the most athletic guys at the combine causing his stock to rise. A new regime came into SF and obviously did not want to wait for a raw kid to develop. Simple as that. The kid has all the athletic ability in the world, and may or may not pan out. It is definitely too early to say that he is a bust, and is definitely worth taking a shot at. He was 100% viewed as a project coming out of college so its ridiculous to say his career is over. The asking price won't be high at all, and we have guys we can develop him under while he progresses. Football can be taught. Athleticism like that can not be. Also, I do not put any stock into the fact that SF is looking to get rid of them, because they let half of their top tier defensive players walk away (spikes, clements, laboy, franklin). Obviously, they have a totally different vision in mind in SF. It doesnt mean the kid sucks.
  25. Carlson would be a nice pickup in the prime of his career. Maybe our little relationship with Seattle from the Marshawn Lynch deal will open some doors for a deal. When teams trade players its typically with teams they have traded with before, and specifically with us being in the AFC I cant imagine they feel any risk trading him to us. THIS WOULD MAKE ME VERY HAPPY!!
