count how many people flock to this subject. the kind of sad folks who have a box of stale flutie flakes on a shelf in their bedrooms, next to a bowling trophy with one arm missing.

Question about the 2 FAs Visiting Today..

10 seconds of research, man. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/237251 http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235182 -
too easy. but not bad.

this had better not be true.

Some of you guys are hilarious. you think you know personnel and you don't. you think a DE's sack total defines him as a player. (If that were the case, why is richard seymore considered one of the best DEs in the game?) Schobel was a great 2nd round pick, and has been a great player for the bills. He's VERSATILE. He's not a one trick pony like so many DEs in the league who put up 8-12 sacks per season but can't stack against the run to save their lives. He has never missed a game, plays hurt and dinged, is smart, and has improved his play each and every year he has played. We extended him to a fair market deal for such a DE, and I'm glad we did it. He's better than a buttload of DEs out there with bigger contracts and less upside. Some people here seem to think they know NFL pro personnel better than Tim Krumrie and Jerry Gray and the Toms Modrak and Donahoe. You don't, and either do I.

those freaky crazy japanese... there's so much wonderful weirdness in their pop culture. gotta love it.

what was holcomb? we only solved our immediate QB depth problem, and we did it right. I was afraid we were going to see kordell stewart or akili smith. holcomb was a GREAT signing. A perfect match for the team's needs.

Its a lot of speculation right now...

add david baas to the mix at center, and it could get interesting. -

DT Kevin Carter - 5 Yr 30 Mil From Fins
nodnarb replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think, mr. T, that this reveals that saban is moving the fins to a 3-4. The 34 needs big, run stopping DEs. Big guys a la Ty Warren and Richard Seymore. We don't have the personnel to run a 34 unless we moved aaron shobel to LB and Ron Edwards to end. Kelsay might be close to big enough but he's more of a pass rusher than a run stopper. They're probably going to either try to trade taylor to a 43 team for a second round pick and a player, or they'll try to convert him to LB. In a 34 D, Taylor can simply not play DE. He'll be engulfed. I like that word, engulfed. Holliday and Carter are both big DEs that can anchor against the run and allow their LBs to rush the passer. I wish the Bills would use more 34. It's so much easier to take an offense by surprise. -
fortunately, you don't know what you're talking about, and sam wyche does.

for what it's worth? well, it's worth nothing. If you wanna pony up some benjamins in a paypal bet, then your opinion might be slightly interesting. Short of that, it's not.

if you actually think that bledsoe gave the team a better chance to win, and if you think that bledsoe is better than his career average of 54% completions (terrible) and 75 rating (mediocre at best) then you must be his brother.

Tom Donahoe and firt round picks
nodnarb replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
winfield was before donahoe. 1999 draft. winfield is a good player, but he was out for a contract that we couldn't afford. Case closed. the vikes overpaid. -
lost another one? another one what? free agent lineman? what do you know about the prospects? their medical history? their contract demands? their character and chemistry with their teams? managing an NFL team is not like assembling a jigsaw puzzle. you don't just put this piece here and that piece there. TD, MM, and TM know what the hell they're doing. Everything they do this offseason will make us better over last season. Look at how Jonas' contract is being panned around the league. The 9ers overpaid. If we kept him, we'd be hamstrung with other areas of the team. Pat was getting 4 mill per from 3 different teams. we had no chance. He's not worth 4 million per. Sam outplayed him and he's getting 2.5 per. stop panicking and pretending that you know what's best for the team. You don't, and no one else on this board does, either. We only know 5% of the details of a player. We're not in a position to intelligently debate these things. We think we know things, but we don't.

i think this is a horrible trade for the skins. it shows that their guy vinny cerrato is still an idiot. every offseason they make a million moves and they never pan out. LColes is a smart, smart receiver with GREAT hands. He knows how to get open. He's quicker than fast but can get open deep. SMoss is a quick, fast, underachiever. He doesn't have the same level of game savvy. He doesn't get open as often, and his hands aren't as good. The Jets just picked their pocket.
-
better off letting him play and then franchise him next year. someone will pay. especially if he gets another 6+ Ints this year. Nobody his size is as fast as clements at that position in the entire league. He'll get his, sure. But we might get ours in the process.

[News] V-Coach - Bills sign QB Kelly Holcomb
nodnarb replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WOW. Talk about under the radar. 4 years, 6 million?! that's a DAMN GOOD DEAL for the bills. nicely done, guys. nicely done. -
Gandy is depth. He's a prospect. He came cheap. Donahoe has long followed the principle that you don't pay big, big money for guards. You develop them. I think we'll draft the best C or G at pick 55, and this guy will be competing with Ross Tucker and JSmith. Don't panic for fugg's sake.
-
third round pick of 2001 draft. here's what they said of him at the time: 2. Mike Gandy, Notre Dame -- Late-developing standout, really coming into his own over the last two seasons in South Bend. Remember, at the prep level in Texas, he operated at TE and DE. When you combine his solid senior year with his impressive showing at the Senior Bowl practices, it shouldn't surprise anyone if Gandy ends up in the second round of the draft like I'm expecting. Drafted by Chicago, third round (68th)

alright this LAW rumor is geting out of hand!
nodnarb replied to zevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if the rumor is coming from law's comment that lawyer had pleaded for him to sign in buffalo, that's about as thin as...the perfect simile for thinness. i doubt this will happen. The Bills seem to be really high on mcgee, and for a 2nd year player he did a fine job. better than some guys who just got 10 million dollar bonuses. (the Ken Lucas deal is a joke). To put him back at nickel would be to depreciate his value in restricted free agency next year, where we will have the opportunity to tender him 1.5 million and get a 1st rounder if he signs elsewhere. If he runs back a few more ST TDs next season, you better believe the kid will fetch a late first, early second round pick, or a player of equal or better value. I actually think Milloy is overrated as a tackler. He has good hands and makes plays, but he often overshoots his mark and takes bad angles sometimes. Clements USED to do this, but clements was so solid for us (other than one fateful play) all year, you'd think the bills would HAVE to franchise him next year. How many guys his size can run a sub 4.4? Not many.
