Interested in hearing AZ fans ideas on Henry?
OGTEleven replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I only read the first two pages of the Cards thread and think they have an accurate assessment of Henry's value. Henry's value is dimished because of all the RBs in the draft. Some of them correctly point out that getting Henry would free them up to seek other positions in the draft, particularly with their first pick (#8?). This makes Henry's value higher to the Cards than to other teams. Where they go wrong is in their calculation of Shelton's value. If Travis Henry is only worth a 4th, that is one thing, but the market for Shelton is even softer. The whole league knows he will be cut so his market value is all housed in his relatively modest contract. When comparing that to Henry, it makes for a different equation and a better one for the Bills. With that said, it is fine for TD to hold out for Shelton plus improved draft position, depending on what he thinks the Bills can get in FA or draft. Buut he only wants a slight improvement in draft position, the angst might not be worth the possible improvement. Of course this all depends on our evaluation of Shelton....... -
No house is pristine and in need of no work. It might seem that way, but I promise, if it's a house, it either needs something or it will very soon. The semi-fixer upper probably needs more work than you think. Your budget is important and based on what you've said, I'd lean the same way. We built a new house and it needed work (water softener, paint, wallpaper, etc.). I will say that the thought of a semi-new (pristine) hose did appeal to us, but I think no matter what you do,, buying a house comes with unexpected costs (especially your first one). Good luck.

I didn't really want to do it, but I'm not a real big fan of calling other human beings celery (or whatever) so I felt in this case, I'd make an exception. Not to nit-pick, but it was not a typo, it was a speeling error. He did it twice.

Why would a caring person fight for over two years to get money for therapy and upon receiving the money, immediately halt the therapy? Why would a caring person state in court records that he wanted to take care of her for the rest of her life, while he had already taken up with someone else? Is this someone whose word we should accept carte blanche? Why would you call someone a vegetable if you can't even spell vegetable?
-
Do you agree with his earlier post when he called her a piece of broccoli too? Or just the post where he defends the guy that fought for 2.5 years stating he would take care of her forever (of course he was banging someone while stating this). 2 months after he got the money he "remembered" her wishes and decided she couldn't bear it anymore.
-
Here are some things I just heard about her case: After her collapse she was treated with therapy and improving enough to be sent home Her husband sued her doctor for 2.25 M so that he could "take care of her for the rest fo her life" which he contended was likely to be 40 years more He was quoted in court records as saying they would live as man and wife at home for the rest of their lives no matter how long that was (he failed to mention he was already dating someone else) He fought for 2+ years and was awarded the 2.25M Two months later he could no longer bear the pain of seeing her state and wanted to pull the plug. He has denied her therapy ever since. He then remembered that when they were watching a movie about Karen Quinlan, she said "I wouldn't want to live like that". This is the basis for her "living will". Funny how he remembered this just after the check cleared. He cut her parents off from being able to do anything as simple as ask a doctor a question about her health. He at least twice denied her treatments for potentially fatal infections And so on and so on...... Sounds like a great guy. Clearly we should take his word for it on her intentions. How do people get like this?

Jeff Gannon: White House press room scandal?
OGTEleven replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Is it just me or did Helen Thomas lob softballs at dem presidents and hammer republicans for about 40 years? Have you read any of her editorials? They are far from unbiased. I know she made the switch to editorials from "news" a relatively short time ago, but it would be hard to make a case that her bias miraculously showed up then. There are many more examples than just her. I'm not saying this guy isn't a hack or even that he belongs. I'm just wondering why the throng of Washington Post/NYT/ABC News reporters are ok, and one Republican hack isn't. -

I meant do you think he saw you walking and knew it was your car? -

I'm missing a key bit of information. Do you know if the guy knew it was your car, or did he just think it was a random car? If he thought it was random...... take the cart, turn it sideways and slide it under the back of his car as far as you can. If he knew it was yours........ Repeat process above, then spit on his window. If you have time, go get 13 more carts from the bin and surround his car. Get a can of paint from your trunk and spill it on his hood. Get your siphon from your back seat and empty the contents of his gas tank into yours. If he has exited his car by now, simply wish him a nice day and hand him a copy of Watchtower. If not, put it under his windshield. -
Pretty interesting comment from buffalobills.com

I think he was being politically correct. If you look at the current roster, Peters is the only there. He can't give out any possible FA info, so what else is there to say? Regarding Bannan, he's probably shooting straight. -
Rape is something you can never forget
OGTEleven replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Paragraph one: I never said she derserved pity. I just said that since we do not know if she is telling the truth, she does not deserve scorn. We know Kobe cheated on his wife. If you think that is a double standard you don't understand the term. Paragraph 2: If someone you love ever gets raped and there is no physical evidence, I'd bet your opinion would change. Paragraph 3: Slander has a legal definition. Can you cite a specific example of this and demonstrate how it is slander? -

Part of his career is endorsements. Do you think this settlement, will improve his situation? Would a victory at the civil trial have helped? -

John, If you are going to call me a liar you had better damn well back it up. I never called you a liar, I merely said that you do not know all the facts. Accusing me of being a liar angers me more that anything I can imagine. I am not a liar. -

If everybody jumped off of a bridge they would all be suicide vicitms. Exception or not, Kobe is a low life loser. Period. The reason the defense didn't have enough evidence is that it wsa disallowed from the trial. Paying lawyers gobs of money can help with that. You were not in the room, John. You don't know what happened by watching ESPN. -

I'm not going to get into this, but for every piece of "evidence" that you cite, there is also one that refutes Kobe's story. Of couse his 3' 10" lawyer brow beat the judge into not admitting them in the trial. One question Quincy, how do you know the (reported) semen was deposited in her underwear after she was with Kobe? P.S. The Laker fan thingy wasn't directed at you. -

This guy either raped her, or he did not. There is no question he a low life loser and always will be no matter how much money he makes. That is documented. For people to type about a possible rape victim in this manner astounds me. She might have been lying, and she might not have been. If she's lying, then you're right (whoop de friggin do). If she's not, then you are slandering her after she was raped. What would be a good reason for this? To prove that you are a loyal Lakers fan? Congrats. -

I gave up drinking while posting here (only on SUWs). Who's R. Rich and what nun in their right mind would threaten him with a ruler?

This post is replete with logic. What I worry about is that Travis Henry's thought process is not replete with logic.

Is that why Wile E. Coyote never falls right away? He doesn't understand the law of gravity. I like your theory but it doesn't explain why he always falls eventually. Perplexing. Hey wait. Let's sue Warner Bros.

Was that just before our back to back Super Bowl wins?

I'm not calling it a preference or anything, but my FA guess is: Oliver Ross, RT Pit.

I agree with this for the most part, but at some point a team has to roll the dice to get to the next level. I hope/expect that TD will do something to make sure the DL is set (with PW I hope). He runs the risk of having an otherwise solid team with one or two huge holes. These holes would prevent the Bills from achieving their goal. If it was indeed true that PW was willing to take a hometown discount and that TD ignored him, that would be a mistake IMO. We don't know the real dialogue. If TD is willing to open up a big hole on an important part of the team, to possibly save a cap hit three years down the line, then the Bills will always be decent and never win it all. I hope this is not the case.
