That pie was our dessert you idiot. Just because you saw it in a movie does NOT mean you have to demonstrate.

I haven't heard anything about my flights/hotel. Who is in charge of making these arrangements and when will the limo driver be picking me up?

Redskin #9 and #25 for Clements?
OGTEleven replied to otterpops's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mine was not the original point. I was simply replying to your post. With that said, timing is part of the insanity. If they truly want that QB (I realize it could be about something else) why not wait until the 24th pick has gone by and then call Denver? It has been well publicized that they wanted to move from that spot. -
Redskin #9 and #25 for Clements?
OGTEleven replied to otterpops's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We did do something similar last year. Here is the difference: We waited until the pick was on the clock. We did not make the trade 4 days before the draft and then leak the player we were after. TD might have been aware that this would reduce our leverage. -
That job has been taken by Diana Ross for some time. To usurp her you'd have to be either nuttier than her, or better looking (current day form). I'd direct most people to try for the latter, but in your case.....

Now there is a sentence I'm sure you never imagined uttering back when you were the prez.

Well, for 50% of parents, I hope the answer is......NEVER.

Although the third sentence of your post is all too true, you'd retract the second if you'd been paying income and property taxes in NY.

I think the passage says that you are in trouble if you are any of those things. I think AD is saying that 99% of politicians are all of those things. Maybe they are, as they believe, smarter than all of us. It is posssible that if you commit sin A, the only way to cancel it out is to commit sin B. If you only commit sin A, you are in trouble. The politicians are rolling the dice, but if their perceived method is the correct one, they will enjoy heaven with each other as we all languish in the hell of having not sinned enough.

Does the TSWSC chapter pick up the airfare/hotel/meals/green fee/get out of the doghouse with the wife expenses? If so, count me in. If not, I hope you all shoot 147.

They are pretty much correct about Henry and his (lack of) value to us. They are also correct about the depth of RB in the draft. Where they're wrong is Shelton. Do they think TD is going to believe they'l keep an already replaced LT with a $3M salary cap hit as a backup? They'll cut him and TD knows that. We, otoh, can afford to keep Henry because his salary is so low and he (to at least some degree) will have to play nice-nice to have a chance at a contract the following year.

Expectations for Shelton......
OGTEleven replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with your opinion of Shelton 100% I think we need him but our expectations would be moderate. Given that, it is still fair for TD tou ask for a swap of picks, IMO. Why, because despite THs relatively low market value, Shelton's is lower. It is widely expected he'd be cut in June. There are serious questions about his ability/potential. Travis may be a one trick pony, but it isn't a bad trick. It is actually a useful one. He allows Az to focus in other areas. Shelton fills a spot for us adequately, but doesn't likley free up a draft slot for us. We won't go with a rookie LT. We would have to pick up Shelton or someone else in June. That isn't desirable but it is the most likely scenario. In short, Henry does more for them than Shelton does for us. -

Let me outline why I find Red Sox fans to be obnoxious. They're from Boston. -

You left something off. The Red Sox were the best team in baseball for two weeks. The two weeks that count. -

Wanna go back to the Union Topic?
OGTEleven replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Here's my take (general, I did not read all 10 pages): Labor and management both will always act in their own self interests, both collectively and as individuals. This creates a permanent tension between the two groups and often between two individuals. That is perfectly healthy. In the "old days" management had power that was out of balance with labor. This was primarily because there was a lack of information available to labor (Remember Smith's rules of perfect competition? There was one about all consumers having full knowledge of the marketplace. In the ideal world this would be true, as it would in labor/management issues.) Unions helped, and continue to help, fill this gap. Over time, more information has become available to the individual worker so the imbalance has narrowed. This has lessened the "need" for unions but it has not eliminated it. There are two "new" problems on the landscape since the development of unions. First, indivduals within unions (the union organization itself, not union members) have acted in their own self interest, which at times is at odds with their membership. This goes for the unions collectively too. Could we ever realistically expect a union to say: "The balance of power at XYZ corp has evened out over the years and there is no longer a need for the ABC union. We are disbanding."? That's not going to happen. Unions have also been deceptive in their public relations. The director of the NEA has been quoted as saying "I'll look after the interests of schoolchildren when schoolchildren start paying dues." Fair enough, but their advertisements use children as pawns to scare the public. This should not be surprising because the union is acting in its own self interest. On the mangement side, the availablity of foreign workers has exploded in the past few decades. Some of this is fair game, but some of it is dirty pool. These people portray themselves and think of themselves as "capitalists" but are perfectly willing to circumvent the capitalist system that got them their success for a few extra bucks. They'll "hire" slaves in China as quickly as they'd hire someone in a free country if the price is right. They are acting in their own self interest so this shouldn't be surprising either. As time proceeds, it is my hope that the capitalist system that has enriched both management and the unions will continue to progress (albeit too gradually). As it does, more and more information will becaome available to management, labor and the general public. As that happens, the light will shine on the cockroaches from both sides and they will be forced to scurry under the tiles where they belong. -
Tit's nice to meet you. I mean err, D'oh.

Remember Armon Gilliam? He should be on the list based on hair alone.

Alll I friggin said was I took offense to him calling people blobs of skin and/or vegetables. He has been making fun of Terri for weeks and I find it offensive. I did not say one damn thing indicating I or anyone else should dictate what happens. This part of the discussion was not even about whether or not she should be kept on life support. So please get down from your holier than thou soap box and bring your ilk with you Mr. pompous.

The difference is that is does not uselessy ridicule and demean a human being.
-
There is a lot of good in the fact that the living will awareness has gone way up. People should make their own decisions and document them properly. As for my prediction, we shall see. I hope it's wrong.
-
Calling another human being, whatever his or her condition, a useless blob of skin, or a misspelled name of a vegetable is not "realistic" or "funny". It is childish and obnoxious beyond description. You do not define what life is for the rest of us. What do your descriptions contribute to the thread? Nothing. They serve to purposely annoy others while denigrating a person. Congratulations.
