  1. I disagree. I think that due to the current NFL rules, this is a QB driven league like no other time in history. My first wish is that the Bills trade away picks to get RG III. I know I've said only two #1s, but I'd trade away three #1s. IMO, RG III would immediately make the Bills Superbowl contenders. Yeah, I said it. The AFC sucks and will continue to suck for the next few years. The Bengals and Broncos got in the playoffs? Seriously? The NFC is laden with good teams and franchise QBs (Rogers, Manning, Brees) who the Bills will no doubt be facing when they get there. Sorry, I don't want to lose a 5th Superbowl with Fitzpatrick at the helm. Please, just do it Buddy.
  2. I think that most independents (who will determine this election) get their political information from various news outlets on the internet and can filter out the partisan BS. While the echo chambers are firing at each other day in and day out, the people in the middle will base their decision on whether they are better off today than they were four years ago. I find it hard to believe that Obama wins based on this. Amercan's salaries have declined 6 percent, their home values have declined, and that's not even counting the people who've lost their jobs and lost their homes.
  3. I think you're giving conservative nit pickers too much credit. Even if the right wing talk shows and conservative political message board members minded their Ps and Qs by not harping on the small potatoes, the MSM would no doubt still be propping up completely phony economic numbers to the idiot masses who still watch and believe in what they say. Everyone should know by now that the MSM is the publicity arm of the democratic party. If they don't, then they're probably the same unintelligent people who voted for Obama the last go round.
  4. DE Mercilus or Ingram in the first 1st, then DE Curry or Branch in the 2nd...that's what I want right now. If they don't move up to get RG III, I want the Bills to acquire the "NASCAR" defense like the Giants have.
  5. I'd actually wouldn't mind the Bills following the Giants defensive model by drafting DE Whitney Mercilus in the 1st and DE Branch or Curry in the 2nd. Let's get our own "NASCAR" package here. Pass rushers are just more of a premium than good run defense linebackers. No one runs anymore in the NFL. I think Upshaw will be a solid OLB, but he's just not going to be the pass rushing threat this defense needs right now. It's much easier to find OLBs later in the draft than pass rushing DEs. They need to get Wanny some pass rushers.
  6. It's very weird, but the closer this game gets the more I'm actually thinking of rooting for the Pats. A few years ago, when they were 18-0 and rolling it up on teams there was no way I wanted them to win that Superbowl. But the Pats seem to be getting no respect at all this time around. Now you have some jerk supposed friend (probably not a family member) leaking a private email from Brady's wife. The Giants have been big talkers. Osi blows off a media session. Anyone thinking of rooting for the Pats this time? BTW, I think it's classy to be pulling for your team in your division (as long as they deserve it unlike that smug 18-0 bunch).
  7. I feel that if the Bills somehow managed to trade up and get RG III they'd be in the Superbowl within the next three or four years. This is a passing league, and with Brady and Manning being out of the AFC picture, the Bills would once again become the kings of the conference. I think that the Bills won't be this close to trading up for a franchise QB for a while since they'll become a 8 to 10 win team looking ahead these coming few years.
  8. I'm over the Tom Brady hate. I remember how cool it was when some of the other fans of the Jets Dolphins and Patriots were rooting on the Bills during the "four in a row" Superbowl stretch. If the Patriots win then so be it. They'll deserve all the accolades that come with winning four Superbowls. Brady is a great QB and Belichick is a great coach. I'm ok with whoever wins this game. I just hope it's a good one. Our decade of futility wouldn't seem as bad if it's put in context of being in the same division of a "dynasty" team. I really do think that Brady/Belichick belong with the dynasties of Montana/Walsh and Bradshaw/Knoll. Plus, our beating them this season should boost our team's confidence since that certainly wasn't a cheap win. The Pats knew we were playing very good at that point. Brady wasn't making fun of the people, he was making fun of the hotels. You need to have a thicker skin and be able to laugh at yourself. Geez, Jim Kelly avoided Buffalo like the plague before he got here...LOL
  9. That 61st was from the rankings I found on the National Football Post site which was where the OP mock draft was from. Nation Football Post's rankings are usually much different from the other more notable draft sites.
  10. Martin is ranked 61st in his overall rankings...LOL
  11. There's no way the Jets don't take Whitney Mercilus at #16 if he's still there. Unless someone with a real HIGH draft grade were there at #10, the Bills shouldn't worry about a supposed 6 spot "reach" and just pick Mercilus who'd be the perfect fit DE in the 4-3. Great tape, great size, and he seems like a great guy.
  12. No need to get upset. I like Ryan Fitzpatrick. But if we've learned anything since Kelly left the stage years and years ago, it's that franchise QBs are very special players. It's been about 17 years since this franchise had one. No need to put numbers on it, we all know who the franchise QBs are in this league...Brady, Brees, Rodgers. In the past...Kelly, Elway, Marino, Montana, Aikman, Warner, Favre, Young, Moon...these are franchise QBs. I'm not knocking Fitzpatrick, but he's 29 years old and he didn't look good the second part of the season. That's not a hopeful sign to me regardless of the injuries. I truly think he could win a Superbowl if everything fell right for this team, but that's a one shot type deal. I want the Bills to be like the Patriots and be there at the end every year.
  13. Yet another Philly attack... http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20120130_Thugs_whup_up_on_cabbie__passenger.html I'm actually shocked that the article mentions there were racial slurs made against whites. Wanna bet this would be breaking news on CNN or MSNBC if the participant's roles were reversed? As a side note, Philly was the city were Holder DROPPED the black panther voter intimidation case in the 2008 election. I hold Holder and Obama accountable for what's happened in Philly regarding the rash of violent attacks with black people seeking to beat up white people for no reason other than their color.
  14. Because the league is quickly becoming a heavily offensive driven league. Yes the Giants, San Fran and Ravens have very good defenses but they are the exception. The QBs are breaking records like nobodies business. I don't think defense matters half as much as it did in the old days. What good is having a great defensive player when the NFL rules are so slanted towards the offense? The other reason is that the Bills have a good young base of talented defensive players to build off of with remaining draft picks and free agents. I think if the bills did get RG III, you'd find good defensive free agent players wanting to come here.
  15. Whitney Mercilus looks to be the perfect 4-3 DE prospect for the Bills. Not only does he look great on film, but he seems like he's a great guy too. Would he be a few spots reach? Yes, but really who cares. Pick Mercilus in the first and hope Ronnell Lewis (or another hard hitting OLB) is there in the second and this defense would be looking good.
  16. I would offer our 1st, 2nd and next year's 1st as a one time take it or leave it offer. Considering that last year the Falcons moved up 20 spots with their 1st, 2nd and 4th picks in 2011 and their 1st and 4th picks in 2012, I think ours would be a fair offer without going overboard for one player.
  17. http://www.gbnreport.com/seniorbowlwrap.html "All that said, here's our list of the Top 25 players down here this week, although the order is more subjective than scientific. 1) DE QUINTON COPLES, NORTH CAROLINA - dominated all week defending the run or pass" However, I do wonder if Carolina would take Coples ahead of us. Seems like a natural fit. What do we do if both Coples and Upshaw are gone? I'm thinking they go either OL, WR or CB. I think Ingram will be rated too low to take at that #10 spot.
  18. I think that this might be the route they'll go. That second offense has probably given the Bills pause to commit long term and considers Johnson is a possible "Ochocinco" perpetual headache. Give him this year to prove he's a team first, self promotion second guy. One way or the other, Stevie Johnson is going to be playing for the Bills this year. IMO, he and Fred Jackson are the hardest working and most productive game day players on this team.
  19. I think fans are scratching their heads at the season Fitzpatrick just had. How he could go from looking like Drew Brees to Trent Edwards in the blink of an eye. He's 28 (29?) years old. You'd expect that kind of a mid-season drop off from a young player, but not a guy as old as Fitzpatrick. We're all hoping that his bad play was injury related and also the fact that key players like Wood and Jackson went down to injuries. He looked great in the early part of the season. That fall off was so disappointing.
  20. Still doesn't change the fact that your changes are extremely slim if you don't have a franchise QB. If the Bills somehow got there with Fitzpatrick they'd be facing the challenge of beating someone like Rogers, Brees or Manning in the big game. I like Fitzpatrick, but I think they'd stand a much better chance of winning the Superbowl with RG III.
  21. In the last 19 Superbowls, exactly 2 were won by non-franchise type QBs (Johnson and Dilfer). This is why I would not be upset if the Bills gave away a ton of picks to move up for RG III. Tannehill is fools gold. He'll be this year's Blaine Gabbert.
  22. Pretty much. Although the cause of the economic recession is traced back to the pushing of subprime loans by democrats, wallstreet's bundling practices also had played a big part. I know that dems like to publicly link the GOP with wallstreet, but that's a big lie. Obama had a bunch of wallstreet connections. John "I don't know what happened to a billion dollars" Corzine was one of Obama's biggest fiscal advisors. Lie after lie after lie. Both the dems and the GOP are linked to wallstreet.
  23. I think blaming it on "scheme, talent and coaching" is a loser's excuse. This team was soft mentally. You saw how bad the Jets, Dallas and the Dolphins were this season...yet our team was actually intimidated by them. That's not "scheme, talent and coaching," that's being mentally soft. They showed early in the season that they had the talent, but when the Jets punched them in the mouth they went into the fetal position for three weeks.
  24. That's BS. This team was 5-2 and could have easily been 7-0. They beat the Patriots. They should have beaten the Giants. Both Superbowl teams taken to the mat by the 2011 Bills. Mental toughness had much more to do with the collapse than scheme, talent and coaching.
  25. This team's confidence was too easily shattered after that first Jets loss at RWS. After that setback, they should have been able to stay close to Dallas and beat the Dolphins, but both of those games were blowout loses. You could tell that as a group they had given up. It was as dramatic a difference to the team brimming with confidence a few short weeks earlier as you could get. It turned out that Ladanian Thomlinson was right, the 2011 Bills were a soft team. They had the talent to be in contention for the wildcard, but they didn't have the mental toughness to get over that Jet loss. I really hope that the player they pick in the first round this year not only has the talent worthy of the #10 pick, but will be a hard-as-nails vocal leader type. Too many "quite leader" types here.
