  1. Elite? Now Mario Williams is an elite player? The Giants have three guys who are better than Williams and that's just one NFL team. Then you've got Allen, Ware, Hali, Suggs, Peppers... C'mon now. Let's not go overboard on Williams' ranking as an NFL pass rusher. He averages single digit sack totals. That's not elite. Yes he's a very good DE, but he simply will not be worth the risk of the 100 million dollar contract someone will end up paying him.
  2. I don't understand your thinking here. Exactly where are the points coming from without Stevie being here? Seriously, exactly who is scoring touchdowns for the 2012 Bills? The reason you even have the chance to sign this guy is because he's missed 14 games in the last two years. The Bills would be foolish to dump a ton of cash on someone with an injury history like Williams. They already have a huge problem with keeping players on the field. They need either healthy bodies or guys who know how to play hurt like Stevie Johnson.
  3. So you would give Fitzpatrick TWO rookie wide receivers to work with? Yeah, good luck with that plan. The NFL is a passing league and the Bills' offense dominated the league in offense the first 8 games of last season due in large part to the connection between Stevie Johnson and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Johnson is no doubt the Bills most valuable player on offense. Not only would I pick Stevie over Williams, I'd also consider drafting Michael Floyd at #10. I'm certainly not giving a boat load of money to a guy from another team who's missed 14 games the last two seasons. You need to sign Stevie and reinforce the message to the rest of the players that if you produce, you'll be rewarded no matter were you were picked in the draft.
  4. The CB and KO return specialist have become devalued positions due to the new NFL rules. I'd have a hard time using a top 10 on a CB.
  5. The big problem with this is that if your offense is based on both CJ and Freddie being in at the same time, they are in serious trouble if one of them goes down with an injury. It's not like receivers were you can plug and play them. Each back (since they both have distinct and different styles) would have to have a suitable backup that would ensure that the offense doesn't miss a beat. So that would mean the Bills would carry four backs? Two slashers and two pounders? In theory it sounds great, but in practice the Bills would be foolish to make that their base offense because of the risk of injury totally screwing the base offense and having the Bills changing tracks in season.
  6. Spiller should and will start... First round pick. Played very well his last few games. First rounder money. 3rd year player. Jackson will be the #2 guy because the Bills have seen more than enough of Spiller to know that he's ready to take over the reigns. It's a young mans game, this is a young team, CJ Spiller is the future and Jackson will be able to extend his career a few years longer being the backup who gets about 10 carries a game. Sorry Freddie fans, but that's how I see it going down.
  7. I don't want a "hybrid" OLB/DE player. I like Upshaw, but I'm very concern about either position he'd play in this defense. OLB - is he going to have to cover Gronk with his lack of height and short arm length? Yeah, good luck with that. DE - opposing QBs will have absolutely no fear of a batted ball at the LOS. Sorry, I just don't see him being the great pass rusher that they are looking for.
  8. I agree. With the new NFL rules, taking a corner in the first has become a wasted pick. Pass rushers, OL or WR are the much more productive options since their impact on the game has not been effected by these passing friendly rules.
  9. It'd be cool to see Chan design an offense with both CJ and Freddie on the field. Lot's of motion, lot's of fakes and misdirection plays. Lot's of possibilities. Freddie = HB/FB CJ = HB/Slot Add in a big TE, and perhaps picking an OT or G at #10 spot in the draft and you have the makings for a ridiculous offense. One major problem with this is if either CJ or Freddie goes down, who is replacing them? You'd almost have to have a backup for each player since they are so different from each other.
  10. You misunderstood. We were talking about college prospects and Buddy's golden rule of needing to have more than one year of production at the college level, not the NFL career of Pierre-Paul. I am arguing that the Bills should avoid using the Colts defense as a blue print for success. Nothing against those two players, but it was fun to see Pierre-Paul batting balls down when Brady threw it. Having tall DEs is a favorable factor when Brady is throwing the ball to a 5' nothing Wes Welker.
  11. The Colts were never a scary defense in part because they've always had smallish, "Tampa 2" players. Yes, these guys can get after the passer, but they also make it so darn easy to just throw over their heads.
  12. I think Coples main issue is his football character. I've read in a few places that it looked liked he didn't give much of an effort in his senior season because he didn't want to get hurt. The Bills will be looking for a leader who plays with passion at that #10 spot. Not someone who'll be looking not to get hurt, then all of a sudden turn it on in the last year of his rookie contract, then go play somewhere else. Rinse, wash, repeat.
  13. Sorry I just don't buy that argument. The Bills picked Spiller that year when they already had Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson! It could be said that the Bills were in a supreme position to take another position other than RB. My point is that the Bills should pick DEs that are not only good, but that have real NFL size like the Giants always seem to do. I don't know if that's the first or second round, but it's the logical way to go.
  14. Jason Pierre-Paul was a one year wonder. So is Jerry Reese not as smart as Buddy Nix because he didn't follow this "golden" rule? If Nix drafts Upshaw over Mercilus because of this stupid rule, I'll laugh at him and this franchise. Upshaw is a short man with T-Rex arms. There's no getting around that fact. Brady will love to continue playing the Bills without worry about getting sacked or having balls batted down at the line of scrimmage.
  15. The Giants would never draft Upshaw in the first. He's not only short, but he's got very short arms. The Giants clearly start with the prototype size and move on with the evaluation from there. He's certainly not a DE, and a "solid" OLB pick is not a value with the 10th overall pick. I think that DE Whitney Mercilus is the guy at 10, he's tall, has long arms and he got 16.5 sacks last year in college. I'm sold. No more "versatile" players, let's start drafting guys who's size fits the position they'll be playing at the next level.
  16. Kiss is tailor made for a Superbowl halftime show. Whatever they do, you can't have a lip synced halftime show. That's just lazy and dull.
  17. I'm guessing this was her parents' crackerjack reaction when she started acting all "gansta" as a kid. BTW, shooting the messenger is kind of silly when she should know that flipping the bird and swearing in front of half a billion people might be caught by a few viewers. Don't ya think?
  18. 7- Eli's number of 4th quarter comebacks this season including the Superbowl. I wonder how many points the Giants outscored their opponents in the 4th quarter this season. Has to be a lot.
  19. Do you notice that every player they draft fits the "prototype" size for that position? Hope the Bills are taking notes.
  20. I smell a housewives reality show!...LOL
  21. Although I thought it was a crappy move for someone to leak that email, it's very amusing seeing her get pissed off at a loud mouthed Giant fan... http://www.theinsider.com/gossip/49452_Gisele_Bashes_Tom_s_Teammates/index.html
  22. I don't see the Niners ever getting to the Superbowl with Alex Smith. Not only will they have a tougher schedule, they'll have to beat Brees, Rodgers or Manning to get there. I know they almost did it this year, but they didn't, and chances are they won't have the home field advantage next year.
  23. Their success is much more about Jerry Reese (current GM) and Eli Manning (drafted by Ernie Accorsi) than about the coordinators. That being said, I'm very happy for Perry Fewell who I had wanted to stay as our HC. He's a very good coach and I'm sure his learning from Coughlin these last two years has made him an even better one.
  24. Remember when people thought Phillip Rivers was better than Eli Manning even after he won a Superbowl? ...LOL Like the Giants did to get Eli, I actually think the Bills should pull off a trade for RG III if they have any real thoughts of not just getting to the playoffs but winning a Superbowl. Even if we got there with Fitzpatrick, the Bills would no doubt be facing either Manning, Brees, Rodgers or even Cam Newton. Let's just say we'd be severe underdogs. If they don't do that, then they need to draft all defense starting with DE Whitney Mercilus 1st, DE Vinny Curry 2nd and OLB Ronnell Lewis 3rd.
  25. It is unlikely, but could you imagine if Buddy drops that kind of a bombshell move on the NFL and Bills nation? The crazy thing is that the Bills will be the one team who are just barely in close enough range to make the move, who will show almost no interest in RG III and therefor shock the NFL draft and the AFC East in particular. It might not be as big of a risk as you might think, I think you can fill in those defensive spots with free agency. Once players see that a team is on the rise and they have the QB to go all the way, they'll migrate there for the chance to get their ring. BTW, I think having both Manning and Brady in the division warrants the Bills making a big move for RG III... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/04/more-talk-of-peyton-manning-in-miami/
