  1. Here's a good read on Gilmore... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/shutdown-50-11-stephon-gilmore-cb-south-carolina-141620475.html If you go to the bottom, they have articles on other players. After reading the articles on both Kuechly and Kirkpatrick, I would much rather the Bills pick Gilmore over those two players who have bigger question marks. Sometimes there's good reason why a guy either rises or falls. Because the move is actually warranted.
  2. Chan Gailey is on year three and in no way wants a 1st round "project" QB who won't even see the field in 2012 and won't be able to help the Bills reach the playoffs which Chan realistically needs to stay on as head coach. Luck or RGIII were the only two guys the Bills would have drafted in the first round. End of story.
  3. Stephon Gilmore - CB with the prototype size and skills to match Vinny Curry - very talented 4-3 DE who would give the Bills a "Giant"-like rotation of pass rushers and also adds depth to two DEs who are coming off injuries James Brown - versatile OT/G can develop and adds depth to the line
  4. I read a draft article today that NFL teams wait till the week before the draft to set up their draft boards. So while some of the information is smokescreen BS, some of it isn't since there are always surprising risers and fallers in every draft. I doubt that either Kalil or Blackmon fall to the Bills though. If one of them did then some team would probably trade up before the tenth pick.
  5. Sorry, I gotcha now. I know you don't want a DB, but having fortified our front seven the past two years I think Gilmore would shore up a key weak spot making our pass defense (in a pass happy league) even better. The DBs and the pass rushers work hand in hand in brining a QB to his knees. I'm sure your dream is to get Kalil but barring a trade up scenario it doesn't look promising and after him the value of LTs don't look close at all at ten overall. I think the Bills pick will be Gilmore because I don't see Jacksonville going CB in round one. I know there's rumors, but that team has more pressing WR/DL needs to address. Also, Jacksonville could very well be the first team to trade out of their position for an extra pick.
  6. He's a safety. You simply don't burn a number ten overall pick on a safety or guard or tight end or any other low impact position. Safeties are used for backup support for CBs and LBs so it would be foolish to put that position ahead of either of the other two. At ten overall you should be drafting QB, OT, WR, DE, DT or CB. Although not necessarily in that order. Regarding Kuechly and the LB position, it's generally isn't a good practice to draft LBs at ten overall but if it's a choice between Barron and Kuechly I'm drafting Kuechly because he plays closer to the line and he'd have more impact on a game. It's so much easier to take a safety out of a game than a LB. I think Buddy's board looks like this... Kalil, Claiborne, Blackmon, Gilmore, Kuechly. I think the only reason they had Barron in for a visit was if they had drafted back into the twenties (this was when Barron was all over the mock boards and before the talk of Dallas taking him). Drafting Barron would be a huge mistake and like passing on Ngata, the would be would be kicking themselves for years to come.
  7. You're not the only one. Drafting a WR in the top 10, you have to be completely sure his head is screwed on straight just for the shear fact that there are so many nut jobs at that position in the NFL. The crazy guys only get more crazy when they become famous pro athletes with a whole lot of money to blow. It's not just Floyd btw, today I heard that Blackmon went to Vegas after his bowl game instead of flying home with his team. That doesn't sound too promising. No way do I want Floyd, if Blackmon falls to the Bills and they pick him, then they still have a potential head case "me" guy. There's zero chance that Floyd is getting picked by the Bills because he did not visit them on site. I know it's hard for the Floyd fans to come to grips with this, but it's not going to happen. The pick will end up being Kuechly or Gilmore. Both "plug and play" guys you don't have to worry about what they're doing after they leave the field.
  8. I think that it's embarrassing to even think of Donovan McNabb as being Hall of Fame material let alone write an article on nfl.com. He was the perfect west coast "system" QB for Andy Reid to reach the playoffs year after year in the usually weaker NFC conference over the last decade. I give him about two years to play the race card even though Warren Moon made it. IMO, Randle Cunningham was a way better QB than McNabb.
  9. This line of thinking really doesn't wash though because the Bills brought in Spiller and Dareus for pre-draft visits. Why would they not bring in Floyd who's had three arrests? The only conclusion is that they they have no intention of drafting him. There are two probable reasons for this...character concerns or he simply isn't the deep "home run" threat they're looking for opposite Johnson.
  10. For a guy with well documented character concerns, that would be an insane thing for a GM to do at pick #10. Nix brought in both Spiller and Dareus for pre-draft visits and neither on of them had such issues. You're obviously free to believe what you want, but it's clear to me that Nix is not interested in Floyd. I stand by my zero chance prediction.
  11. It says that Kuechly and Osweiler were the last of the visits to One Bills Drive which means there is zero chance the Bills are considering picking Floyd. It tells me he's officially off their board. Whether it's the character issues or if they just don't feel that he's the deep threat they want opposite Johnson, I think any talk of the Bills picking Floyd is folly from this point forward.
  12. Right now barring a trade up for Kalil or Blackmon falling to #10, I'm thinking the pick will be Dre Kirkpatrick. Solid, consistent, SEC, very low potential "bust" pick, "plug and play" starter from day one, area of need, he paid the Bills a visit. They'd probably want to draft Glenn but will worry too much about whether he can handle LT position in the NFL.
  13. Until Kuechly comes in for a visit, I won't even consider him as an option to be drafted by the Bills. You look at the past two years and the Bills clearly only bring in 1st round players who they plan on drafting as they did with both Spiller and Dareus. From the look of the current Bills' visit list, I think Buddy has his eyes on Kalil or Blackmon in a trade up, or pick either Kirkpatrick or Glenn at #10.
  14. Yes, I know that the list could grow longer and probably will. We shall see. Right now, I predict the Bills either trade up for Kalil or Blackmon, or draft Cordy Glenn as their eventual starting LT with Hairston as their interim LT until Glenn is ready.
  15. I've read that he can play any LB position. With the Bills I think that would be OLB. But seeing how they aren't bringing him in, I've written him off as a possibility at #10.
  16. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/481930-NBC_s_Capus_Breaking_News_Can_t_Come_at_Expense_of_Breaking_Public_Trust.php 3/16/12 NBC News President Steve Capus... ""We must be accurate, even-handed, and, indeed, ethical. In the news business we are often presented with options of shortcuts for taking advantage of a situation when it's presented of breaking the news first. And, let's be honest, it is exciting to get exclusive information or the first interview. But under no circumstances is it worth the cost of breaking public trust. Trust is what news organizations live and die by, and it takes an unwavering commitment from every employee to keep that trust alive." Meanwhile, Americans are still waiting for the on air apology for the clear deception of the original Zimmerman tape editing and the outright lie whereby they claimed it was a mistake. A flagrant, in your face showing that they feel Americans are as dumb as a box of rocks. This doesn't appear to be going away Steve... http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/04/09/Editgate-Three-Strikes-Capus-Out http://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb-staff/2012/04/10/nb-publisher-bozells-calls-congress-investigate-comcast-and-nbc
  17. I would cross off the list anybody in the 1st round who the Bills haven't had in for a visit. If Reiff doesn't, it says they view him as a RT only which is the view of many. If Kuechly doesn't, it says they don't want to "waste" a #10 pick on the OLB position. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/29/2012-draft-visits-and-workout-tracker/
  18. Well the only WR they've brought in has been Blackmon. So there is the possibility that they will pick him via a trade up or the other way, which is doubtful it would happen, by him falling to the Bills at #10. I think these are their options to take care of the WR hole: WR Plan A: Blackman in the 1st. WR Plan B: Sanu or Quick in the 2nd. WR Plan C: Hill in a 1st rd trade down scenario. WR Plan D: Call TO after the draft.
  19. 1st round: Matt Kalil Justin Blackmon Trent Richardson Dre Kirkpatrick Jonathan Martin Cordy Glenn 2nd round: Mike Adams Andre Branch Bruce Irvin Kirk Cousins Brock Osweiler What's weird is that fans here love to say that Nix doesn't trade up, well looking at the list there are three obvious guys they'd have to trade up for on the first round list. Why would they waste the time if they were not seriously thinking of trading up? The answer is they wouldn't, they're thinking of trading up in this draft. Another weird thing is why they would have Bruce Irvin, a guy with a troubled past, in for an extended interview and not Floyd? Maybe the answer is that they're more comfortable with gambling a second round pick on someone with possible character problems.
  20. What's crazy are the amount of "running" teams the Bills will be facing... Running... Seahawks Jets (2) Chiefs Jaguars 49ers Browns Rams Titans Pure passing... Patriots (2) Colts Inbetween... Cardinals Dolphins (2) Texans This run heavy schedule makes me start to want the Bills to draft Luke Kuechly at #10, or maybe even Cox for a three man rotation at DT.
  21. I wonder if Spiller or Jackson would be used as trade bait to pick Richardson. Them having Richardson in for a visit is just plain weird. Looking at the Buddy's pre draft visit list for the Bills tells me that they are fixin' to trade up for somebody.
  22. Considering that the Bills had Spiller in for a visit in 2010 and Dareus in for a visit in 2011, then odds are that Floyd is completely off their draft board if they don't bring him in. It would be crazy stupid for the Bills not to bring in a potentially high draft prospect with known character issues for an extended visit, then draft him at #10 overall. That simply will not happen. So the Floyd people had better start hoping that the Bills at least bring him in for a visit in the next couple of weeks.
  23. It's a scenario that I find interesting because it does deal with a high risk/high reward "gambling" aspect. I hope that Fitzpatrick is great this year and leads us to the playoffs and looks like a true "late blooming" franchise QB, but what if he doesn't do that? How great would it be to have two high draft picks and one that could be in the franchise QB range? It was just a hypothetical that I hadn't really seen discussed here, so I thought I'd bring it up during this slow, pre-draft part of the offseason.
  24. Doug McIntyre is hands down, the best radio personality/commentator in America. I had to share this article (written by Doug himself) involving his interview of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz where he just hits it out of the proverbial park... http://www.dailynews.com/columnists/ci_20319927/doug-mcintyre-dnc-chairwoman-debbie-wasserman-schultz-under?source=most_viewed "Her talking points hadn't prepared her to respond when confronted by the "visionary" mayor's actual record"
  25. At pick #10 the bad teams have already used their "this year" first round picks, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. The value of a deal like this is getting a bad team's 2013 first rounder and being in a very good position for a top five pick in 2013 and having your own first round pick also which for the Bills will most certainly not be a top 10. At least I hope not! LOL
