I think more players should fight fans. Fans think they can say whatever they want to players without consequence. general rule of thumb, don’t say things you won’t say to that person face to face. Our society has become too comfortable at mouthing off from a distance without consequence.

You’re comparing the SB to a regular season game??? How does that even make sense? A game where Hurts had almost 400 yards and 4 tds??? Because of a fumble? That’s literally an insane comparison. how many SBs win if Kelly (an awful postseason qb) had close to that game that Hurts had, despite that fumble?

If we win out...what is impact on coaching decisions?
C.Biscuit97 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would bet a lot of money McDermott is back next year with his job on the line. Brady will be the OC and they will hire a DC. Lots of bills fans will be disappointed but I think good owners don’t do knee jerk reactions off one bad season. Personally, I’m good with either direction. But I do think the good organizations tend to be the most loyal ones. -
Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication
C.Biscuit97 replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is hilarious watching fans make judgments on what player was wrong 5 minutes after the game. and Brady has done a great job. Still a bunch of games left but he has definitely be a great revelation. -
Isn’t that the case for almost every qb not named Mahomes? I know people hate him but Gabe Davis would be a big loss. https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/eagles-bills-stats-jalen-hurts-jordan-davis-20231128.html#:~:text=Hurts also has won 14,a number of different ways. that is an amazing stat. Maybe the guy who outplayed Mahomes in the SB is just really good.

Which WR prospect will the Bengals screw us out of?
C.Biscuit97 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s true and trading up for a qb (which fails a lot of the time as well) seems like a bad move that high in the draft. But if this is the final piece to a SB team, I’m fine with it. Still think we have some decent holes to fill in as well. Honestly don’t think it’s that high but I hope you’re right. Guy can’t play on a team that needs cb helps and when he does, he struggles, but hopefully there are some dumb teams out there. I think McDermott is as good of a d back coach in the nfl so if he can’t mold you into something, I’d be really worried. -

Haha, what kind of trade value do you think Elam even has at this point? It’s like a bag of footballs. But I agree, I’d trade Elam for Harrison!!! -

Man, that is a lot. Also, since it’s such a deep class, I would be willing to trade up but maybe not that high (so like a Rome O type). that said, if we are viewing MHJ as the potential Diggs number 1 guy, that makes it a lot more interesting of a move. ideally, I want 2 receivers out of this draft. -

Didn’t they just draft a 1st round OT and sign a high price one? -
Because coaching sucks. Awful hours, people want to fire you after one game, losers hassle your kids. nice paycheck if you make it high enough and there’s nothing like winning a game/ championship. But there are a lot of drawbacks compared to a cushy tv gig. id rather be in the front office if I worked for a nfl team.

It was McDermott who fumbled in the end zone against the Vikes? It was McDermott who couldn’t beat a Zack Wilson offense that scored one td? And the Chiefs were just better than us in the championship game. there is a lot of blame to go around in every loss. But those ones imo aren’t on the Clapspr. -
Again, this is where we go too far. We have had top 3 defenses for most of Allen’s career. This team has averaged 12 wins once Allen “developed.” Allen got the same OC his rookie year for 4 years which rarely happens. allen has made himself into a great player. But it’s BS to give McDermott/ the Bills any credit for that. No. The guy who was neither 1st or 2nd team mountain west was always going to be a star. Clearly. and I’m fine with moving on from McDermott but as you said, it’s cesp not to give him any credit for helping Allen into the player he is.

I absolutely love Rome. Straight baller and seems like a great dude. I also love both of the FSU guys but favor Coleman because I do worry about separation issues with Wilson. I just hope this team realizes how big of a need this is and doesn’t hesitate to trade up. While there are no sure fire picks, a receiver playing with Allen seems like a pretty safe bet. -
See, I think we are going too far with the McDermott hate now. I think he clearly has game management issues but this team has a lot of personalities and has had some really tough circumstances (Hamlin, blizzard, Diggs, etc) and has kept us together through it. I would never question him as a leader.

I think Hurts would be good on any time. He almost won a Heisman, was a number 1 recruit in the country. I’m saying you do this but there are certain qbs people always find faults with like Hirts and Lamar. Maybe the guys who were awesome in high school , college, and are having good success in the nfl are just good QBs. i mean if Josh Allen goes to Carolina instead of Buffalo with an top 5 defense and an OC he had for 4 years who became a coach of the year, maybe he’s not the same player. Situation matters for every qb but it seems like certain qbs always face more scrutiny.
-
While I would be crazy disappointed at how we lost that game, it’s not that big of deal if we beat Mac Jones or Zack Wilson. Especially since it was a nfc game. Those are the real killers where moral victories don’t matter. Don’t agree with that at all. He is a good coach and built a good culture. But now is he a guy that gets you over the top? It doesn’t seem like it.

If Allen wins 2 SBs and 2 MVPs, he is ducking criticism too. It’s always going to be like that. and Tua gets killed all the time as a system qb. Allen is a god and he deserves to be. But the turnovers is a real thing. It’s so hard because his aggressiveness makes him great but that int in the Philly game was a huge turning point in a game he completely dominated and deserved to win.
-
He’s way better than Tyrod. Tyrod never wins a game like that. I Know people can only compare qbs of the same race but I think Hurts is very similar to Allen. Much different paths but guys who got better every year. Allen is the better passer but Hurts takes care of the ball better and stays so composed. I love how Hurts was a great teammate when he got benched at Bama, didn’t blame anyone or cry about it, and just worked harder.
-
Agree and I think it is bigger than just Allen and Lamar. For a long time, black, “athletic” qbs would be drafted low if not drafted at all (Charlie Ward won a Heisman and wasn’t given a shot in the nfl). And the Allen type prospect (big, big arm, very uneven production a la Hackenburg or Blaine Gabbert) would be drafted high based on nothing they actually did in college. I hated the Allen type prospect and it wasn’t about Josh, who I truly believe is a unicorn. So when Allen, who wasn’t this Allen in college, gets drafted so high while a Heisman trophy winner is talked about switched positions, it is kinda BS. I also think that because black analysts doesn’t like Allen (and what does that even mean? Who doesn’t have him at worse top 5) because they think he might be too turnover prone, that isn’t just because he’s not black as well. I know you aren’t saying that but that’s kinda messed up to think that a black analyst might think that way.
-
I agree with this. Allen certainly gets his share of criticism but it’s nothing compared to what Cam Newton got. Newton would get called out all the time for his body language or ridiculous crap. I hope we are getting to a point where qbs are just being judged on being qbs. I think a guy like Allen paved the way for Anthony Richardson (not great college production, high upside/ physical tools). Why? Honest question. What are we even arguing about here? Lamar, who some guys thought should be a rb, has a MVP, the number 1 seed in the AFC, and is like third in MVP odds. I think Allen is better but people should think Lamar (who gets crapped on more than any other good qb) is really good as well too.

wide Right tennesse forward pass no goal Let’s be honest. Painful Buffalo losses were happening long before McClappy was a coach. Buffalo is cursed. -
Rodgers feels guilt over Wilson situation
C.Biscuit97 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
When did he become insufferable? He constantly needs attention. Haha, are you really propping up Carr? Have you seen NO wirh him? Dude is the dink and dunk king of field goal drives. He is dollar store Kirk Cousins. You take Rodgers all day over him. They are struggling to win the worst division in the nfl. Carr gets you no where. -
It’s hilarious how fans talk themselves into journeymen players every offseason.

Can we have a conversation about Diggs?
C.Biscuit97 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
That doesn’t make sense in the slightest. The game is less physical now so players can play much longer. Jerry Rice was an absolute freak. and I’ve been on the trade Diggs train for a while. I think he’s been overall really good but it’s just not worth all the drama (fair or not but it doesn’t stop) and the money. His trade value is very high and I think we could get a first. I’d rather take my chances on 2 young, hungry, cheap guys in an absolutely loaded class than run this back. Even though Diggs is still one of the best in the league. NE was great at getting rid of drama and players before they fell off. -
